TEAM MEMBER COMPASSION FUND Inova's Team Member Compassion Fund provides emergency cash assistance to team members facing unexpected financial challenges including:

"If you could only hear the gratitude from a team member's widow who needed help."

"The pandemic has impacted many of our team members.

Some Inova team members went to being sole earners in their families due to a partner's job loss, causing many to struggle in maintaining basic living needs.

Others are challenged with an increase in childcare expenses for their young children due to remote learning. The Team Member Compassion Fund shows our team members that we care about them and that we are all truly a family."

Since 2016, Inova has given over half a million dollars in emergency cash assistance to team members.

However, more than half of those funds were in the last two years. As awareness of this fund grows, we are seeing the volume of requests increasing.

Inova still receives requests each month, indicating a continued need for this vital resource for more than 20,000 healthcare heroes.

TEAM MEMBER WELLBEING AND RESILIENCY FUND Inova's Team Member Wellbeing and Resiliency Fund aligns with Inova's culture of safety. We recognize the importance of providing care to our caregivers as part of a healthy work environment that promotes resiliency and optimal patient outcomes.

In 2021, Inova successfully deployed $64,780 of our funds to these initiatives.

Compassion Carts In all five Inova hospitals, trained peers and leaders make rounds with Compassion Carts, loaded with items intended to facilitate a “pause and thank you.”

Specially-curated Compassion Baskets are shared in outpatient care sites across the Inova Health System.

CARE Peer Support Network The CARE (Compassion, Action, Resilience and Empathy) Peer Support Network is a comprehensive resource for team members that includes leadership, trained peer supporters and a referral network of professional counselors. Peer supporters are team members from all disciplines who complete special training to serve in this role and are available to actively listen and provide supportive presence in a confidential and non-judgmental manner following an unexpected outcome or high-risk clinical event.

The Power of the Performing Arts Local artists played live music at the Inova COVID19 vaccination clinics, care sites, clinical units and lobbies - lifting spirits and boosting team morale!

Prioritizing Mental Health Inova Behavioral Health nurses were activated to round on clinical units and support team members during some of the most stressful times.
