he mission of Secret Strands Wig Boutique is to provide quality head coverings in a warm, inviting environment. My vision to open Secret Strands Wig Boutique was born out of my personal experience. In March 2010, I was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive breast cancer. By opening Secret Strands Wig Boutique, I know that I will be able to give back and help others that are currently in the same situation that I was in. And I’d like to say that I am very blessed to have come full circle. With my own experience, I am able to relate to those who are just starting their “journey.” While the boutique offers customers many options in comfort and style, we also maintain a free information center for the different types 22 Indulge Magazine | SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY
of services available to cancer patients. In addition to wigs, we offer extensions, add-on hairpieces and all types of head wear, including ChemoBeanies, turbans, vintage hats, baseball-style hats and scarves. We also carry a full line of gifts that are appropriate for cancer patients and survivors, like jewelry as well as products by Botanicals for Hope Skin Care. The boutique also offers selections for men and we will be expanding our men's line in the near future. I am continuously searching for items for the boutique that are made by companies that were started as a result of cancer. Our customers appreciate my experience as a survivor and the compassion and understanding that comes from my experience; I can relate to what cancer patients are going through emotionally and physically.
