Saskatchewan Hindu Society Annual Banquet (March 09, 2019) Consul General Mrs. Abhilasha Joshi attended Saskatchewan Hindu Society Annual Banquet at Saskatoon. President Dr. Ajay Dalai welcomed the guests and Jayaji Mazumdar Chinmoy Mission gave the spiritual message. Premier Scott Moe highlighted the important partnership between Saskatchewan province and India while Saskatoon Mayor Charlie Clark praised the role played by Indian diaspora in stronger relations. Several dignitaries and prominent members of the diaspora and Canadian community attended the banquet.

BC Tech Summit 2019 (March 12, 2019) Consul General Mrs. Abhilasha Joshi attended BC Tech Summit 2019 at Vancouver, British Columbia. Consul General met Indian business delegation and Mr. Raghwa Gopal CEO and President of Innovate BC. BC Tech was on full display at the flagship event showcasing innovative solutions for agriculture, water purification, healthcare and VR, Blockchain among others.

IC IMPACTS Dialogue (March 14, 2019) Consul General participated in the IC - IMPACTS Dialogue on strengthening Canada-India partnerships in Innovation and Trade and the Signing Ceremony wherein SFU became an Affiliated Partner University with IC-Impacts. IC - IMPACTS is the unique Canada-India Centre for Excellence with equal funding from both GOI and Govt of Canada. It has to date, 47 research projects, 7 Start Ups, 27 patents and hundreds of innovators and partners. Their self-healing road project in Thondebhavi, Karnataka, earthquake resistant super concrete at a school in Roorkee and Ganga rejuvenation at Varanasi are innovative models of sustainable development.

India, US agree to build six nuclear power plants in India Washington: India and the US said they have agreed to build six American nuclear power plants in India, in a boost to bilateral civil nuclear energy cooperation. The two countries said this in a joint statement issued at the conclusion of the 9th round of India-US Strategic Security Dialogue, co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale and Andrea Thompson, the US under secretary of state for arms control and international security, on Wednesday. Indian start-ups mopped up US$ 7 bn from PEs, VCs in 2018, says EY report New Delhi: E-commerce and consumer internet companies raised over $7 billion in private equity and venture capital in 2018, according to a latest EY report. The report highlights that majority of the funding is towards building supply chain, expanding into new segments, global expansion, acquisition or consolidation, and bringing innovative product offerings to the market.
