to participate in YMCA programs, regardless of their ability to pay. Through programming at our four YMCA branches and at locations throughout our community, the Y served more than 9,100 people in 2018 who would not have otherwise had the opportunity to participate in membership and programs. As a result, children built friendships at summer camp and through our before and after school programs, seniors experienced community, teens set goals for their future while receiving college readiness and career training, and families grew stronger by spending quality time together. To make all of this possible, the YMCA proudly invested $1.5 million into our members, our community and our future, through scholarship assistance and free community programming.
