The Y is excited to host a series of FREE Family Night events at the Salvation Army Community Center! These get-togethers are the perfect way for families to enjoy a nice meal, participate in fun activities, and get to know other families in the community. Each event will feature raffles for special prizes. Pre-registration is required for all our special events.

NFL FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE
LEAGUE DATES: August 11-October 25
Games:
7 game season. Games beginning the week of September 1 and will be played on Friday evenings, Saturdays mornings, and occasional weeknight games at Joliet Junior College and the Galowich Family YMCA.
Practices:
Once per week, beginning the week of August 18. Practices will be held at a location TBD.
Preseason Clinics
Preseason clinics are available to all registered Youth Soccer participants at no cost. Pre-registration is requested. Clinic dates and locations are TBD.

CO-ED AGE DIVISIONS: 4-6 years old 7-9 years old 10-12 years old 13-14 years old
PRACTICES AND GAMES
Clinics will be held the week of August 11. Practices begin the week of August 18. Games will be played primarily on Friday evenings/Saturday mornings beginning the week of September 1. Occasional games may be held on weeknights. Practices and games will be held at a location TBD. Ages 4-6 will play 7 regular season games. Ages 7 and up will play 6 regular season games and at least 1 playoff game.
*Leagues may be merged with the C.W. Avery Family YMCA and Morris Hospital YMCA with games played in Plainfield and Morris.
PRESEASON CLINICS
Preseason clinics are available to all registered NFL FLAG Football participants at no cost. Pre-registration is requested. Clinic dates and locations are TBD.
OFFICIAL NFL GEAR
All participants will receive an NFL jersey and flag belt. Mouthguards are required and gloves are recommended. Rubber cleats are recommended, but gym shoes are also allowed. Metal cleats are not allowed. Participants are asked to wear pants/shorts that do not have pockets while competing in games.

Junior Wolves Dance Team
The YMCA has teamed up with our partners at Joliet Junior College (JJC) to offer a new co-ed dance team for kids ages 5-9 and 10-14! Led by experienced cheer and dance staff, this enthusiastic program will teach aspiring dancers of all skill levels a mix of cheers, jumps, and dance routines. Each dancer will receive a t-shirt and socks to wear on game days. They should wear black pants or shorts (weather dependent) with black shoes. All practices and games will take place at the JJC Event Center.
Cost Per Season:

FALL SEASON
Dance Team will perform at the YMCA’s NFL FLAG Football 7 game season.
Practices: Wednesdays starting August 13 Game performances: Fridays or Saturdays starting the week of September 1
WINTER SEASON
Dance Team will perform at the YMCA’s (YBL) Youth Basketball League 8 game season.
Practices: Wednesdays beginning December 10 No Practice on 12/24 or 12/31 due to the holidays. Game performances: Saturdays beginning January 17

YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUES TEAMWORK
HAPPENS HERE
When kids play sports, they get more than just exercise.
The Y Youth Sports program maximizes the positive effects of playing sports by emphasizing healthy competition and promoting teamwork. The Y focuses on the life lessons that can be learned from sports, and coaches strive to instill a positive self-image in each player.

*In order for competitions to run in the Girls’ Divisions, a minimum number of participants must be enrolled. The Y will determine if these divisions will be able to run by November 13, and families will be notified.
Practices and games will be played at the YMCA or local schools. Grades Pre K- 6th will play games on Saturdays at the Galowich Family YMCA and other community partner locations. Grades 7-8 and the High School Division will play on Tuesday evenings at a Plainfield school and on Saturdays at a Joliet school.

Apply for Financial Assistance and pay as little as $1 per month for Kid Zone. At the Y, no one is turned away due to the inability to pay. DHS funds are accepted. Financial assistance may also be available for those who do not qualify for DHS funds.
In the YMCA’s Before and After School program, kids participate in physical, learning, and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. Kids have fun, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.

The Galowich Family YMCA’s Before and After School Program serves children from Troy CCSD 30-C at Messiah Lutheran Church, located at 40 Houbolt Road in Joliet. Transportation to and from school is provided by a joint partnership between Troy 30-C and the Galowich Family YMCA.

3. Families that qualify for assistance through IDHS will be directed to visit www.childcarehelp.com to download a Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) application. Please bring your completed application to the YMCA to have it signed before submitting it your local Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Agency.

To learn more, please contact the Child Care Director at your local YMCA branch. Families will be required to submit a copy of their IDHS denial letter when applying for assistance through the YMCA.

Teen REACH
After School Youth Enrichment Program
Teen REACH (Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring, and Hope) is a FREE after school program offered in partnership with Joliet Public School District 86. Hosted at the district’s four junior high schools, Teen REACH programming incorporates the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, and includes a resource-rich curriculum that provides students with academic support, life skills education, recreational opportunities, mentorship, STEM, and service learning activities.
Program Hours
Monday through Friday, on school days, from dismissal until 6 p.m. Program will not run on early dismissal days.
