FSPA’s Little Music School offers joyful, engaging classes for children ages 1–5 and their caregivers. Programs like Rattles and Rhythms, Wee Play, and Do-Re-ME!
introduce little ones to rhythm, melody, movement, and musical concepts through singing, listening, and instrumental play all in a fun, energetic setting.

Led by early childhood music specialist Kim Rezendez, the Little Music School nurtures each child’s development with care and expertise. As students progress, they begin to explore rhythm patterns, note reading, and music history building confidence and skills that prepare them for a lifetime of learning and creativity.
Do-Re-ME!
Ages 4-5
A first step toward musical literacy and structured learning.
• 30-minute classes
• Singing, rhythm, notation, and music history
• Prepares students for future lessons parental involvement encouraged
Available year-round in 15-, 30-, 45-, and 60-minute sessions. Students are scheduled based on faculty availability and registration date.
Recitals are held throughout the year, with written evaluations provided in the spring.

Level I (Grades 1-4)

Level III (Grades 9-12)
Music theory provides the tools necessary to unlock creative freedom in composition and improvisation and produces quicker learners, better sight-readers and smarter, more sensitive musicians. Explore the building blocks of music scales, chords, progressions, and more through hands-on projects and group activities. Students use notation and recording software and present original compositions in a final recital.
Note-reading experience required.
All Ages
This weekly coaching class gives students hands-on experience playing in small groups. Guided by professional musicians, students develop skills in blending, timing, part preparation, and musical interpretation. Groups may perform during the year.
Ages 12+
Build your musical ear through listening, singing, and written exercises. Ideal for vocal and instrumental students, this course covers intervals, chords, solfege, sight singing, and more.
Basic music reading is recommended.
Ear training and theory classes are recommended for serious music students
Ages 12+
Piano students may elect to participate in annual testing and certification.
All Ages
“Jazz Krewe” meets on a weekly basis and explores all genres of music, including jazz, R&B, rock, blues, funk and pop. For students of all ages and any instrument, it is a great opportunity for musicians to supplement their instrumental studies.

Piano students learn how to read lead sheets and chord symbols to play ragtime, blues, funk, soul, R&B, rock and jazz.

Foundations in vocal technique with an emphasis on building confidence and a love for singing.
Ages 9-11 | 60 minutes
Intended for students with some knowledge of musical notation and expiernece in voice class or chorus. Intermediate Voice builds and expands upon technique learning Beginner level.
Ages 10-13 | 60 minutes
Intended for students with 4+ years of vocal training and ensemble experience. Students must be able to read music.

Learn to sing in a fun, supportive environment with your peers!
Ages 10-13 | 60 minutes
Building on fundamentals learned in beginner Voice, this class continues in a supportive environment that also addresses changing voices.
Glee Club
Ages 10+
FSPA’s vocal ensemble is a ten-week program each semester, showcasing tight harmonies across a wide range of styles, from early madrigals to modern pop hits, at performances throughout the year.
Requires private voice enrollment and audition for participation.
Ages 13+
Explore the basics of writing your own songs from lyrics to melody. Learn structure, rhyme, and storytelling while creating original music in a supportive, creative environment. No prior experience needed!
Take your songwriting to the next level with deeper exploration of lyric craft, melody, harmony, and arrangement. Refine your voice, experiment with structure, and workshop original songs with peer and instructor feedback. Ideal for experienced writers ready to grow their artistry.
