their first meal for the day. "Our goal is to keep these kids off the streets. We provide them with meals, entertainment and share the Word of God with them." According to John, the program varies each week. "After having something to eat, we have praise and worship sessions followed by some form of entertainment. We also create a platform for local artists to come and share their talent with us,” he says. Most youngsters arrive on foot, and transport is arranged to see that everyone gets home safely. At the end of the night, a crowd formed a circle and cheering while music played in the background. On closer inspection, it turned out some of the youngsters were still in high spirits. John laughs and explained: "Oh, they're still waiting on their taxi, so now they're using this time to show off some dance moves."

The initiative kicked off just over 18 months ago when Youth Pastors, John and Alvina Adams, received guidance and training on how to reach out and minister to young people from outside their congregation. Alvina says the initiative aims to draw kids away from gangsterism. "We currently have youngsters from 13 years and up, but we are open to all ages.

Atlantis tak aangebied is.
