al 1967 con continuità Palio degli Asini e Fiera del Tartufo si accompagnano e si intrecciano. La Fiera deve essere riconoscente ai Presidenti della Giostra delle Cento Torri che si sono succeduti, da Paolo Farinetti a Piercarlo Verney, passando per Giovanni Bressano, Carlo Musso, Romano Ferrero, Silvio Blangetti, Fiorenzo Giubellino, Romano Cugnasco, che hanno coordinato il lavoro dei Presidenti dei Borghi e delle centinaia di volontari. Nella nuova dislocazione di Piazza Medford, scelta per aumentare la sicurezza e la disponibilità di posti, la prima domenica di ottobre sarà animata oltre che dalla corsa degli asini, combattuta tra l’agonistico e il burlesco, dalla sfilata e dalle rievocazioni storiche, cresciute costantemente nel tempo per numero di figuranti, bellezza dei costumi, accuratezza delle scene. Il pittore del Palio sarà quest’anno Paolo Galetto, artista e illustratore delle pagine culturali de La Stampa che nella scorsa primavera ha presentato una bellissima mostra in San Domenico. Il Mercato dei Tartufi aprirà nella seconda domenica di ottobre per garantire quantità e qualità dei preziosi funghi ipogei che attirano turisti da tutto il mondo: una rilevazione campionaria svolta lo scorso anno ha contato 39 nazionalità presenti nei sette weekend! La terza domenica di ottobre con la rievocazione medioevale vedrà ancora una volta la maggiore affluenza e il festival della bandiera nella quarta domenica appassionerà ancora gli spettatori. Mentre si cerca di qualificare sempre più la parte della Fiera legata al gusto, con mercati a chilometro zero, degustazioni approfondite dei nostri grandi vini, analisi sensoriale del tartufo, dimostrazioni di grandi chef del nostro territorio, mentre si realizzano iniziative culturali e sportive e si avviano momenti dedicati ai bambini e alle loro famiglie, la parte storica e folkloristica della Fiera continua ad essere grande motivo di attrazione.

This year the painter of the Palio will be Paolo Galetto, who illustrates the cultural pages of La Stampa. The truffle market opens on the second Sunday of October to ensure quality and quantity of the precious underground fungus that attracts tourists from all over the world: last year there were 39 different nationalities in the seven weekend! The third Sunday of October, with the medieval reenactment, will be the busiest and the flag festival on the fourth Sunday will be of great interest too. From one side we will try to more and more qualify the taste with markets of the local products, tastings of our wines, sensory analysis of the truffle, demonstrations from our top chefs; from another side we will try to organize cultural and sporting activities for children and their families. But the historical and folk part of the Fair is always the biggest attraction.
