De Vlamingh’s Voyage
by IJS1954
In HumaniEes and Social Sciences, we have been learning about the journeys of explorers before the 18th Century.
To complement this learning, we visited the WA Shipwrecks Museum to learn about Willem de Vlamingh.

Willem de Vlamingh was a Dutch navigator who explored the west coast of ‘New Holland’ in the late 17th Century.
During our visit, we parEcipated in engaging role-play acEviEes which highlighted the challenges and achievements of de Vlamingh’s expediEon. We also had the opportunity to explore the museum where we found interesEng maps, journal entries and pictures.
We had a great Eme. Thank you to our amazing parent helpers who assisted on the day.
