9. Site safety procedures 9.1 Site rules Site safety rules must effectively implement the provisions shown below. A condition of entry to the site is that all workers and visitors comply with these provisions and all other relevant sections of this manual: SITE INDUCTION All persons working on the site must attend a site induction. Visitors that have not been inducted must be

accompanied and under the control of a competent person at all times.
SAFETY HELMETS
All supervisors, workers, and visitors in the building and construction areas must wear safety helmets at all times in designated areas.
SAFETY FOOTWEAR
Safety footwear must be worn at all times by all supervisors, workers, and visitors in the building and construction area. The footwear must comply with AS2210.
GLASS CONTAINERS
Glass containers are not allowed on the site, other than in lunchrooms.
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
The consumption of alcohol and illegal drugs on this site during hours is prohibited.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
PPE such as safety eye protection, hearing protection, safety gloves, masks etc, must be worn eg. when grinding, drilling, and on all other tasks with similar risks. PPE must be securely stored, when not in use and checked prior to use.
ACCIDENTS AND INCIDENTS
Accidents and injuries must be reported immediately to the contractor’s site representative.
FIRST AID
All persons requiring first aid treatment are to contact the first aid officer who will administer the treatment and record the injury in the Register of Injuries and Treatments including the person’s name and the nature of the injury or ailment.
FIRE PREVENTION
All persons must employ fire prevention. An appropriate fire extinguisher must be on hand for each welding set brought to site.
CLEANLINESS AND TIDINESS
Work areas and amenities must be kept clean and tidy, with rubbish and other safety hazards, cleaned up promptly.
HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS
Hazardous chemicals must be used and stored in compliance with safety data sheets (SDSs)
