Building Your Future: A Financial Literacy Webinar

The Iloilo Girl Scout Council hosted a Financial Literacy Webinar entitled "Building Your Future" with Evelyn Josue as the resource speaker. This was done through Zoom and Facebook on October 24, 2020.

Tita Bingbing, as she is fondly called by girl scouts, is the Chairperson of the Associates Committee and a certified financial educator of the International Marketing Group. IMG is a distributor of financial services from its corporate partners advocating financial education as a marketing strategy.

The one-day webinar was empowering for the 5,000-strong Girl Scout attendees who was challenged by Tita Bingbing with these words: "If you want to be wealthy, don't let other people do it for you. Do it yourself.

She then tackled personal budgeting and shared steps to build a solid financial foundation stressing that "Control your present, the future is in your hands. ” This was to emphasize that one's finances is not all about the money she may have right now but it is all about building one's future.

Tita Bingbing’s final advice was to "Commit to yourself, dream big, work for it so that in the future you will achieve.
