In the middle of darkness, some light still chose to shine. Amidst the pandemic, Girl Scouts still find a way to strive. As we continue to stay at the comfort of our homes, some of us still find a way to make the best of everything.
Two empowered women from Iloilo Girl Scout Council received an award from the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. Jeneth Zante, together with Fatima Esmalla, proved that great things happen when one works for it.
Tita Jeneth is an active troop leader from Central Philippine University. She was a recipient of the GSP Outstanding District Field Adviser Award. Now, the Asia Pacific Leadership Award for Commissioners is also in her hands.
Tita Fatima is a teacher at Colegio de San Jose. She was a recipient of the GSP Outstanding Troop Leader Award and was recently granted the Asia Pacific Leadership Award for Troop/Unit Leaders.
The Asia Pacific Leadership Awards aims to recognize the achievement of adult leaders of WAGGS among its Member Organizations in the Asia Pacific Region.
The awardees were given a pin and a certificate on January 25 2021. These ladies are living testimonies that leadership goes a long way. Their dedication to mold young minds and loyalty to the movement sets a good example for the girls of the movement to continue striving for excellence. With passion comes the determination to serve, and these ladies wholeheartedly allowed themselves to be in service.
The Iloilo Girl Scout Council is very proud to have such leaders who continuously teach and guide the girls from the Province of Iloilo and Guimaras.
