Nazareth Borough Council Approves one mill tax Increase for 2024 budget By SAVANNAH BROWN The Nazareth Borough Council met Monday, November 6 where they discussed the borough’s proposed 2024 operating budget and the job listing of a public works position. Under public property, council unanimously approved a resolution to honor Huth Insurance Company of 16 Belvidere St. on the occasion of their 125th anniversary of continuous business in the borough. Council also approved the following public property agenda items: direction for the secretary

Northampton Borough Council Hires new sewer plant Employee, rejects motion for Parking meters By KERI LINDENMUTH During their meeting on Thursday, November 2, Northampton Borough Council welcomed a new borough employee to their wastewater treatment facility. Council unanimously voted to hire Benjamin Rutherford as a sewer plant operator trainee after an interview process with Borough Manager LeRoy Brobst and several members of council. Rutherford, a new borough

resident, has previously worked for Hatfield Meats in their waste treatment plant. “I like what I do a lot,” he told council. “I’m very committed to my job.” Outside of work, he says he enjoys spending time taking care of his home and being with his family. Rutherford was welcomed warmly by council. “I think we made a good hire,” said Councilman Ronald
