By the time you’ve experienced your 60th trip around the sun, you will have taken around two-million steps, and unless you’re superhuman, you’ve most likely dealt with some sort of injury or illness. Maybe a hip replacement (or two), or maybe, like me, you’ve had cancer. With a bit of luck, I’ll hit the big 4-0 this year, but my body has been through a lot so I can relate to stiff aching joints and feeling weak and vulnerable in my body, even though in my heart and mind I still feel young! I’ve had thrombosis in my left arm and nerve damage in my right arm and I experience the effects of menopause due to my cancer medication. I’ve had multiple surgeries, including a double mastectomy, so I can understand some of the things you may be experiencing as your body ages. As ageing adults, we know that keeping fit and mobile is essential. But, for many of us, gyms and aerobic classes just aren’t appealing or practical. So, what’s the alternative?
