Captain Tom Life Portrait ‘Nailed’ by Deliver Net Ltd a leading supplier to Avery Care homes throughout the UK Tim Lockett, founder of Deliver Net, was so taken by the now world famous story about Capt. Tom, and being a fellow Yorkshireman, that he commissioned a local Keighley artist and sculptor Marcus Levine to create a depiction of the man and his exploits in nails.

Marcus was able to get the finished piece down to Milton Keynes the day before Colonel Tom went to Windsor to receive his knighthood from the Queen, as the remarkable man had agreed to sign it for Tim and Marcus to complete the project.

The finished portrait took 15 days to complete which was followed by thousands with a daily update on Youtube. The finished piece weighs 16.5kg and is comprised of 50,000 nails. The idea that the artist and his sponsor devised was that the portrait would then be sold and the proceeds donated to charities. One recipient charity is the Care Workers Charity, who support care workers who may have fallen on difficult times through no fault of their own, and need direct support, assistance or guidance.

The Deliver Net team worked non-stop to keep care homes supplied and have supported British Manufacturers where they can

Whilst Marcus was hammering away in his workshop, Capt. Tom found out that he was to be knighted as well as receiving the rank of Honorary Colonel from his regiment. 100 days after his 100th birthday, with over £30m raised in that time, the event was marked with an RAF flypast of his home near Milton Keynes and TV coverage throughout.

Tim and his Skipton based team have been working flat out to keep supplying care homes throughout the pandemic and are proud to say that they never ran out of stock, albeit that they had to invest millions in advance shipments, pay for air freight and cram the warehouses with PPE to meet the huge demand. British based supplies were far and few between, so Tim has sought to find supplies where he can to support both British manufacturers and the British economy. In one case, being bold enough to place the first order for a North West based factory that had to stop producing paper straws as all of its customers, bars and restaurants, had been forced to close.
