A Sustainable Waste Sorting System at IC Ain Aar
After the successful implementation of the new waste sorting system at the Ain Aar Middle school, this year, the waste sorting system was made consistent throughout all the Ain Aar campus. Students of the preschool and elementary school were taught about the universal technique of waste sorting through three bins : One for recyclable waste (cardboard, paper, plastic, metal and glass), another for organic waste, and a third one for nonrecyclable waste (dirty waste and fake plastics). Bins were placed all over the preschool and elementary school premises. To ensure a maximum quality of waste sorting, small boxes were also placed in classrooms to control the sorting process.
Recyclable waste will be collected by a local NGO “S’aider Aider” who will sell them to recycling companies and get funds in return to implement social projects aiming at supporting underprivileged families.
