JATC Update

Delayed School Year

The JATC Trustees are continuously monitoring the public health guidelines for safely re-opening the training center. Apprentices will be notified in August of their schedules and the safety procedures that will be implemented. Apprentice classes will be Hybrid, with a mix of online and in-person training.

All “in-person” Journeyman and Technician Continuing Education and Code Update classes have been postponed until at least January of 2021. This will be re-evaluated in the fall and when it’s safe to do so, in person classes will be scheduled. Check the Boston JATC website periodically for updates .

JATC Summer Office Hours

The JATC is open for business, and staff members may be contacted by calling 617-436-0980 during normal summer business hours (from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.) However, the building remains closed for general access. All walk-in services are suspended for the duration of the COVID-19 public health emergency, as declared by the state. To safely and effectively assist members and apprentices seeking in-person services from the JATC, all members are required to schedule an appointment.

To schedule an appointment, please send an e-mail to appointment@ibeweducation.com with the following information:

Your full name; Which program and apprentice year; Whether you’re a Journeyman or Technician; A phone number at which you may be reached; A brief summary of the issue for which you need assistance (ex. license issues, general question, etc.) and Three (3) dates and times during which you are available to travel to the JATC for an in person appointment.

All apprentices and members with an appointment with the JATC are asked to arrive on-time and with properly prepared materials and/or required documents. Please arrive alone and with a face mask for your appointment.
