Local 103 Endorses Joe Biden
POLITICAL IBEW LOCAL 103 ENDORSES…
Joe Biden for President of the United States
Election Day will be here sooner than we think, and as each day passes, we are facing increasingly high stakes regarding the future of our country. Energy policies that are created today will reverberate across our nation for decades, and it’s paramount that we swear in a president who supports IBEW jobs, and IBEW values.
Vice President Joe Biden has listened to IBEW members, and his energy policy has been shaped by meaningful conversations with the IBEW – the professionals who will build and maintain the energy grid of the future. He backs an all-of-the-above approach to slashing carbon emissions. He also has proposed the largest-ever investment in clean-energy technology, as well as an aggressive clean-power infrastructure plan that will make the United States a global leader in fighting climate change, while putting tens of thousands of IBEW-member Americans to work building the energy economy of the future. Needless to say, Biden has the support of our entire International Union!
This particular election versus incumbent Donald Trump also goes beyond the usual priority issues for IBEW Local 103, and extends to ensuring the very basic stability of our economy, our public health, our international reputation, and our character as a nation.
Joe Biden has a long record of standing up for union members. One of the first plans released by his campaign was focused on strengthening worker organizing and labor unions. The plan strengthens labor protections, restricts employer abuses of power, and creates incentives for union organizing and collective bargaining.
Biden’s initiative stands in stark contrast to Trump, whose administration has worked diligently to unravel workers’ rights since day one of his term. Trump would never support similar legislation, simply because it would cut into the profits of wealthy special interests. At a time of crisis, we have reached a turning point in our nation’s history. Joe Biden has emerged as a leader we can trust, while in the last four months alone, we have watched Donald Trump fumble a global pandemic response and encourage violence, hatred, and division among working people – who, as unions know, need to stick together above all else.
Vote Joe Biden for POTUS!
