John Moriarty & Associates The Suffolk Downs development, set to create a new neighborhood connecting East Boston to Revere, is confirmed to move forward with 100% of construction under a Project Labor Agreement (PLA)! It is the largest private sector PLA ever signed in the region. Having a PLA on this project will create thousands of good, family-sustaining union jobs for local families for the next 20 years, and will ensure that the surrounding community is uplifted in the process.
On deck are 16 million square feet of development; 10,000 units of housing, including 910 affordable units; 7 million square feet of commercial space, retail and hotels; and $300 million in on-site, and off-site infrastructure – including the connection of two Blue Line subway stations. IBEW Local 103 will fulfill the entire electrical scope!
