ACCIDENT RESPONSE WORKFLOW

ACCIDENT RESPONSE 1) For Commercial Accidents and Incidences: a. First call General Superintendent, Arnold Bengtson, 316-250-8903 b. If Arnold is not available, call Director, People Operations, Whitney Proctor, 316-2493923. 2) For industrial Accidents and Incidences: a. First call Industrial Superintendent, Kevin Bergkamp, 620-755-7669 b. If Kevin is not available, call Director, People Operations, Whitney Proctor, 316-2493923. 3) Assess injury per matrix below and Arnold or Kevin will make recommendation on where to go/what to do. 4) Manager on site at the time of the incident transports team member to the care facility and takes the checklist. a. Within a 3-hour radius of Wichita, Arnold or Kevin will meet team member at the hospital for all major lacerations or major injuries. The onsite manager stays with the team member for entire duration until they arrive. 5) Arnold or Kevin should notify safety@huttonbuilds.com and include Area Leader on the email as soon as possible. a. People Operations will contact Family / Emergency Contact. b. Area Leader will update Project Manager and manage any owner communication. c. General Super will ensure project has coverage and coordinate back up site management. d. Director, Marketing & Strategy will prepare any communication via the Crisis Management Guide if need be. 6) If situation attracts the public, use the Crisis Management Guide and direct all news or other public groups to Director, Marketing & Strategy, Jenni Szambecki, 316-670-6261. 7) On site Manager completes Accident Response Microsoft Form via the Portal. 8) Arnold or Kevin will send a post injury update and the Accident Response Form to safety@huttonbuilds.com and Area Leader along with any pictures, updates and other pertinent information. MANAGER CHECKLIST 1) Manager stays with injured team member at all times, or until Kevin or Arnold is present. 2) Ensure they receive the best care possible and comply with all requests from the physician and medical care team. 3) Inform the medical team that this is a workplace injury and we are required to conduct a rapid drug test and alcohol test. If the medical team refuses to conduct the UA or Saliva test, contact People Operations at 316-249-3923. 4) Advise team member to avoid the following if possible: a. Prescription drug medicine b. c. Requirement for physical therapy 5) To avoid a “Loss Time” recordable: a. Ask for Supervisor Intervention in lieu of restrictions or return to work with Light Duty. b. Return team member to project as soon as possible without time off (work with Safety Manager or General Superintendent for alternate work tasks). 6) Ask injured team member if they are able to contact family or if they would like for you (Manager) to keep family up to date. AFTER THE INJURED TEAM MEMBER HAS RECEIVED CARE • • • • •

Coordinate transportation if needed including vehicle or personal belongings for team members working out of town. Superintendent will conduct a Safety meeting on the jobsite the day after the injury to reset safety standards and protocol with all personnel on site. Within 24 hours, People Operations will report case to the Captive Portal. People Operations will follow up with team member regularly until injury fully heals. Depending on the situation, Kevin or Arnold may conduct an organization-wide Safety Stand down or send out helpful information to all team members.

First Aid if possible

If they are not able to see the injured team member, please call Med Corp at 844-716-1520. Call Med Corp at 844-716-1520 to find a clinic nearest to you if you do not have a Minor Emergency clinic poster available in your job trailer. Review Minor Emergency Clinics Project List for local clinic (Saved in S:Drive/Safety/Required Posters/Minor Emergency Signs)

Major Laceration, Concussion, Unconsciousness or Broken Bones

First Aid if possible

Review Jobsite Posters for Emergency Project List (Saved in S:Drive/Safety/Required Posters/Minor Emergency Signs) Prefer to receive care at Via Christi, Ascension, Wesley or Regional community hospitals when possible.
