A-C
Open to all students from Year 7 to 13. Students will study and learn about the various human rights violations that occur all over the world after gaining a basis for understanding the legal standing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Each week, students in groups will present to the rest of the club a case study and as a group, we will decide how best to support and be active with this. Past campaigns have included Write for Rights and creating educational displays. As well as this, students have engaged in fundraising for the charity. We may look to go to the Amnesty International Youth Conference too

A great opportunity for all pupils in Years 7 to 13 to get together and try their hand at a range of different board games Feel free to bring your own from home and we’ll also have lots of different ones for you to try As well as developing new skills, including strategic thinking, it is a chance to socialise and have fun.

The Army section offers cadets a wide range of challenging, adventurous and educational activities designed to help our young people to develop and thrive We offer an exciting programme of activities and events including weapon handling skills with the Cadet A2 rifle, fieldcraft skills, drill andmarchingtechnique,firstaidskills,andoutdooradventurousactivitiesincludingpaintball,laser clayshooting,andobstaclecourses.
All cadets are invited to the Annual Camp where the skills learnt over the year are put into practice, with the chance of winning the coveted prize of the overall Best CCF Contingent We aim to inspire young people to challenge their limits, grow their abilities, helping to shape their futures into furthereducationandintheworkplace
RAF
The RAF cadet sessions are tailored to embrace opportunities in Air, Space and Cyberspace We hold national camps as well as focused activities and experiences in flying, gliding, sport, adventurous training, drill, target shooting and cyber skills, as well as learning skills such as first aid.
The RAF Cadets are encouraged to take a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force, but there is no obligation to join the Services The skills you can gain can help you with whatever you want to do in life Cadets are encouraged in the spirit of adventure, and to develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship That includes being able to communicate clearly, work as a memberofateam,enhancesocialskillsandacceptdiversity


CChess Club
This club is a fantastic place for all to learn and play chess. Our Chess Master Dale offers training for all levels. Students will have the opportunity to play against others for fun each week. The Chess club will run for the full lunch period therefore it will be ideal for the pupils to bring a packed lunch for that day so that they can maximise the time and get some training from Dale withoutanydisruptions
In the Autumn term, they will train for the annual inter-house chess competition where they will be playing as a team and will have the winning house name printed on the inter-house chess competition shield In the spring term, there will be opportunities for individual competitions to select a junior chess champion (year 7 to 9) and a senior chess champion (year 10 to 13) and an overall champion (7-13) for the school; they will also be rewarded with a prize. The Gold CREST Award is for the Sixth Form students where we are going to look at the science involved in Vitamin Supplements. The time commitment for Gold level is at least 70 hourssowillrunalongsidethetwo-yearA-level course but will involve time outside of lunchtimes from the students to reach the required degree of detail needed to gain the Gold CREST Award It is, however, worth the effort; Gold CREST Awards are recognised by universities and sit as a similar standard and amountofworkastheEPQ.

There is a role for everyone no matter whether you want to be in a lead role or chorus line You just have to sign up on the Google Form sent out in the Winter Show welcome pack email
Students Year 9 upwards will embark on the production of a popular musical. There is opportunity for pupils to perform in principal roles down to chorus roles, but also to help backstage with set, props, costume, sound and lighting. This culminates in four performances in front of an audience This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their talents, improve their skills and grow in confidence

This is open to all boys and girls in all years We will work on all of the different skills required to be successful when playing but the focus will be on game play and tactics to allow you to develop those skills under pressure. Rounders club is open to all students from Year 7 through to Year 13 It is a fantastic way for students to enjoybeingactivewiththeirpeersaswellasdevelopand refine their techniques We will look at specific techniques of bowling, batting and fielding as well as tactics and strategy in game play We will compete in Rounders fixtures against other independent schools as wellasOldhamSchoolscompetitions
Tennis
HereatHulmeweoffertennistoallstudentswithclubs organised based on ability We have sessions for students who are new to tennis and are building on foundation skills We develop their basic game play building on experiences from PE lessons and we also offer a club for our more able tennis players where we develop more strategic game play in both doubles and singles. We compete in the LTA AEGON cup and Oldhamschoolscompetitions

Class Prefects in Prep
Year 12 students will be given the opportunity to volunteer their time in Prep and become class prefects Each class prefect will be assigned a class from Pre-Prep through to Year 6 They will work with the class teachers and volunteer to support academic activities, playtime and mentoring students throughout the year This is a fantastic opportunity to any students to step out of their comfort zone and work with our youngest students at Hulme It will also be a fantastic opportunity forstudentswhowishtoworkwithchildrenorworkintheHealthorCareindustries.
