8th Grade Teacher of the Month
Ms. Ramos 8th Grade Science
I am from the Philippines, a country in southeast Asia. I taught science to some of the most inquisitive and brightest high school students I could wish for. I came here in 2007 and had the privilege to teach at Jenkins and Savannah High. I took a hiatus from teaching and went back in 2017 to teach at Hubert. The experience I gained here is something that I will not trade for anything. I love seeing my students discover the wonders of the world they live in through the lens of science.
In my free time, I watch movies, listen to sappy old love songs, and spruce up my garden.
If I would give some advice, I would say give it your best in everything you do and soak up all that it could teach you. It always produces good result, but in the event that it doesn't work out, you still win because it made you a person that is better equipped to handle whatever comes next.
“Ms. Ramos doesn’t threaten to call our parents. Instead, she is walking us through the work without giving us the answers. She makes us think.” -Hassan R.

Pastor Dr. Michael Stevens, Guest Speaker
A few of our male scholars started their Motivational Monday with guest speaker, Pastor Dr. Michael Stevens. Stevens connected with our youth by sharing his struggles and challenges in life. Dr. Stevens currently pastors the St. James AME Church in Fleming, GA. He inspired and encouraged the young men to do well in school and aim to be “game changers” in life. Special thanks to our longtime volunteer, Mr. JT Musgrove for inviting Dr. Stevens.
