My dissertation employed a mixed quantitative and qualitative study using Logistic Regression and NVivo, published on ProQuest. I recently published a research article in the Journal of Leadership on Relational Leadership with my fellowship at the university. I have been married for 32 years and I am a proud father of two daughters. My passion for education and love for my family often intertwine as I enjoy sharing information about my daughters and their achievements. Perhaps the most important benefit of TSA membership is the inspiration and enthusiasm that students gain from receiving recognition for applying their knowledge. Demonstrating skills in a forum beyond school walls motivates students, especially when there is a large, like-minded audience of peers who support them. Other benefits include:
Enhance technological literacy and leadership skills
Work on complex activities from start to finish
Compete on local, state and national levels
Develop leadership skills
Meet and work with business and industry leaders
Network with students and teachers with similar interests from all over the United States Contribute time and effort to a national service project
Receive recognition through TSA’s honor society, scholarships and achievement programs Have a voice in a national organization that is helping to shape the future of technology education
•
Build a foundation for your future learning transferrable skills

2 Ways to Help Your Child Succeed in Middle School
Source: Nemours Kids Health
Medically Reviewed by:
Larissa Hirsch, MD
Parental support plays an important part in helping students succeed in middle school. But as they grow more independent, it can be hard for parents to know when to get involved and when a more behind-the-scenes approach is the way to go.
Here are 10 ways to keep your child on track for academic success in middle school.
1. Go to Back-to-School Night and Parent-Teacher Conferences
Preteens and teens do better in school when parents are involved in their academic lives. Attending back-toschool night at the start of the school year is a great way to get to know your child's teachers and their expectations. School administrators may discuss school-wide programs and policies too.
Going to parent-teacher conferences is another way to stay informed. These may be held once or twice a year to discuss your child’s progress Some middle schools, though, only set up parent–teacher conferences if there's a need to address issues like behavior problems or dropping grades, or if a student might benefit from advanced class work.
For kids with special learning needs, other meetings with teachers and school staff can help parents set up or revise individualized education plans (IEPs), 504 education plans, or gifted education plans.
Keep in mind that parents or guardians can request meetings with teachers, principals, school counselors, or other school staff any time during the school year.
2. Visit the School and Its Website
Knowing the physical layout of the school building and grounds can help you connect with your child when you talk about their school day It's good to know the location of the main office, school nurse, cafeteria, gym, athletic fields, auditorium, and special classes.
