Projekt SUCCESS („Strengthening good governance in the European sport community by providing women with necessary competencies in order to support gender balance and equality in decision-making in sport structures”) ima dvojaku zadaću omogućiti obrazovanje i usavršavanje kompetencija ženama za zahtjevnije položaje u športu te promovirati rodnu ravnopravnost i podići razinu svijesti o važnosti jednake zastupljenosti spolova na vodećim pozicijama u športu. HOO-u kao nositelju projekta koji se financira sredstvima programa Erasmus+ sport i koji će trajati do 2017., partneri su nacionalni olimpijski odbori Francuske, Italije, Litve i Slovačke.

"Learn & Share" – Winter Youth Olympic Games Lillehammer 2016 Young and promising Croatian athletes performed from February 12 to 21 at the 2nd Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer. As well as the previous Olympics, these Olympics have brought, besides sports competitions, the creation of new ideas and skills necessary to promote the Olympic principles and values along the Olympic learning plan under the motto "Learn & Share". The Croatian national Olympic team consisted of four young male athletes and three female athletes, under the expert guidance of seven staff members led by the Croatian Olympic Committee’s Coordinator of the multi-sport events Petra Nosso. The alpine skier Tamara Zubčić, who was a presenter and coordinator of cultural and educational program of Youth Olympic Games, has successfully performed the role of Ambassador (Young Ambassador). The Croatian delegation at the Olympic Village was visited by the Croatian Ambassador in Norway, Hrvoje Marušić, who met with the athletes, coaches and leadership of the Mission. In terms of results, the most successful was the 17-year-old Samuel Kolega. Besides winning the fourth place in Slalom (seven seconds behind the third) and fifth place in Giant Slalom, Samuel finished in 13th place in Alpine Combined and he has achieved the third best time in team competition in Parallel Slalom, where he - in pairs with Lana Zbašnik - won the 9th place. Talented 16-year-old Lana will mostly remember her performance in Lillehammer by 12th places won in Giant Slalom and the Alpine Combined, while in Slalom and Super-G she failed to reach the finish line. In Cross-Country Skiing, the athlete Gabrijela Skender (16) shone in the classic sprint style, reached the semi-finals and won the 12th place. In Cross-Country race, she finished in 30th place and in 5 km Free she finished in 36th place. The only Croatian biathlete in Lillehammer was the 17-year-old athlete from Mrkopalj Mislav Petrović, who finished in 7,5 km Sprint in 42nd place, and day after in 10 km Pursuit he finished in 43rd place. Karla Šola from Split, also 16-year-old as Mislav, continues the family tradition in Bobsleigh. The performed in Bobsleigh, Women’s Monobob and finished the competition in 15th place. The youngest in the Croatian seven-member-team was 15-year-old Zagreb’s snowboarder Tino Stojak, who performed in the Freeparken Slopestyle competition and finished in 17th place. His age-mate, Cross-Country athlete Jakov Hladika, finished the Cross-Country race in 47th place, while in 10 km Free he finished in 46th place. The next, 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games, are scheduled for 2020 and will be held in Lausanne (Switzerland). The project SCORE European and Croatian practice show that there is a very small number of women among the coaches, even less among the officials of national sports teams, which – in the opinion of the European Non-Governmental Sports Organisation (ENGSO) - should be urgently changed. So on the basis of the mentioned goal, the project "Strengthening Coaching with the Objective to Raise Equality" - SCORE has been initiated. The purpose of the project is to achieve - by 2020 - the objectives of the European Union to have 40 percent female coaches and 30 percent female officials in sports, followed by an effective education system for female coaches. Discussion on how to achieve the aforementioned and how to motivate not only women but also the national sports community to insist on achieving the same was one of the topics of the seminary “Improving gender equality in sports training" - SCORE, which was organized in Zagreb on February 26 by the Croatian Olympic Committee and the Gender Equality in Sports Commission. The seminary was attended by the representatives of the network of female coordinators in sports, coaches, athletes and other sports officials from Croatia. In the general discussion led by the project leader Heidi Pekkola from ENGSO participated, among other, some of the active participants were the expert on gender equality Sarah Milner of the Organisation of Sports Coach UK, member of the Croatian Olympic Committee’s Council Sanda Čorak and coordinator of the project in Croatia and the Secretary of the Commission Gordana Borko.
