Međunarodna konferencija „Dobro upravljanje i ravnopravnost spolova u sportu“ U organizaciji Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora i nadležnog ureda za programe i projekte Europske unije, u Zagrebu je u hotelu Panorama 20. studenoga održana međunarodna konferencija „Dobro upravljanje i ravnopravnost spolova u sportu“. O ravnopravnosti spolova kao preduvjetu dobrog upravljanja u športu i društvu, o ženama na upravljačkim pozicijama te primjeni obrazovnog programa za mlade športaše ili osobe koje se obrazuju u području športske djelatnosti, govorile su, u ime domaćina i organizatora, dopredsjednice HOO-a Morana Paliković Gruden i Sanda Čorak, ujedno obje i čelnice nacionalnih športskih saveza u klizanju (Gruden) i džudu (Čorak). S ovlastima u slučajevima diskriminacije žena u športu nazočne je upoznala državna pravobraniteljica za ravnopravnost spolova Višnja Ljubičić, dok su područje medijskog utjecaja obradili Ana Maskalan iz Instituta za društvena istraživanja, Ratko Cvetnić, član HOO-ove Komisije za ravnopravnost spolova te Anita Malenica iz Agencije za elektroničke medije. Na obrazovanje i umrežavanje žena u smislu potpore dobrom upravljanju osvrt je dao predsjednik Hrvatske asocijacije za sportski menadžment Ivan Vranković Konferencija je održana u sklopu projekta GETZ (Gender Equality Toolkit for generation Z) koji provodi britansko Sveučilište u Worcesteru, u suradnji sa sveučilištima iz Norveške, Nizozemske i Belgije te športskim organizacijama iz Hrvatske, Slovenije i Švedske a nazočio je 71 sudionik iz sustava znanosti, obrazovanja i športa, od praktičara do teoretičara te športskih djelatnika i volontera u športu.

Proslava Dana Japana posvećena OI u Tokiju Predsjednik Upravnog vijeća Hrvatske olimpijske akademije Tonči Tadić, ravnatelj HOA-e Saša Ceraj i voditeljica HOA-ovih projekata promicanja olimpizma Ana Popovčić, sudjelovali su u ime hrvatske olimpijske obitelji na obilježavanju Dana Japana posvećenog olimpizmu i nadolazećim Olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju 2020. Domaćin svečanosti organizirane 13. prosinca u Muzeju Mimara u Zagrebu, bio je veleposlanik Japana u Republici Hrvatskoj, Njegova Ekselencija Keiji Takiguchi koji je izrazio osobito zadovoljstvo otvorenim i prijateljskim odnosom dviju zemalja i dijeljenjem kulturoloških, športskih i drugih vrijednosti svojih zajednica. Tema ovogodišnjeg Dana bila je predstavljanje japanskog načina života. Osim izložbi, predavanja i radionica, ispred muzeja Mimara održana je i demonstracija japanskih borilačkih vještina: aikida, džuda, karatea, kenda, kyuda i nanbuda, a posjetiteljima je podijeljeno više od 800 prigodnih trojezičnih (japanski, hrvatski i engleski) brošura sa zanimljivostima olimpijskog razvoja Japana pod nazivom „Od Tokija do Tokija“.

Tokamachi’s invitation to the Croatian Olympians During his stay at the ANOC Assembly in Tokyo (28 and 29 November), the President of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Mateša invited by the Mayor Yoshifum Sekiguchi, visited Japanese town of Tokamachi where the House of Japanese-Croatian Friendship is situated. Looking towards the Tokyo Olympics 2020, the two notables signed a contract on the training preparations of Croatian Olympians for the Tokyo Olympics. Tokamachi, which is at only two hours’ drive by fast train from the Olympic venues in Tokyo, will be a place for preparation and acclimatization of athletes, cyclists, judokas, karatekas, taekwondoists and the shooters (trap). The House of Japanese-Croatian Friendship in Tokamachi is situated in the immediate vicinity of the stadium where the Croatian football team was preparing during the World Championships in Japan and South Korea in 2002 and it was built according to designs of architects Vinko Penezić and Krešimir Rogina with the great ambition of the then ambassador of Croatia to Japan Drago Štambuk. “This highly hospitable city carefully nurtures Croatian-Japanese relations and they are truly honest friends who prove their friendship with this call for preparations for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. It is impressive how much this city is dedicated to Croatian friendship from the plaques with the names of all the members of the Croatian National Football Team that stayed in Tokamachi in 2002 up to cell phone numbers of some city officials who advertise with the sounds of the Croatian anthem. It is our duty and pleasure to join them in nurturing our sports friendship”, said the President of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Mateša. Chinese water polo players wish to enter the Regional League On 4 December, the President and Secretary General of the Croatian National Olympic Committee Zlatko Mateša and Josip Čop received the water polo delegation from distant China hosted by the Croatian Water Polo Federation. The relationship between two sides was the idea on ​​the possibility of participating of the Chinese National Water Polo Team as a club in the Regional League, in order to have their players gain experience with today’s best water polo players. Zlatko Mateša supported this idea, believing that it is realistic one and that along with good negotiations with the Federations the Regional League clubs come from, Chinese water polo players will play in the next season in the Mediterranean area of the world’s water polo. They would most likely use the Croatian water polo resources, under the sponsorship of Chinese companies. The Chinese delegation was led by Director of the National Water Polo Federation Lei Ming and Director of the Water Polo Department in the central body of Chinese sports Zhao Qi and Head Coach of the Chinese National Water Polo Team, the Montenegrin Petar Porobić, while the Croatian side was represented by the President of the Croatian Water Polo Federation Mladen Drnašin, accompanied by the Executive Director Perica Bukić and Secretary General Renata Živković. International Olympic Committee’s workshop “Athlete Career Programme Outreach” On 20 October, the Croatian Olympic Academy organized in Zagreb, in cooperation with Addeco Group and associates from the International Olympic Committee a one-day workshop “IOC Athlete Career Program Outreach” for young athletes. The workshop dealt with for young athletes that discussed the possibilities after the completion of athletic career and adaptation in the labor market. Personal experiences of several top Croatian athletes who participated in the workshop were the best examples to young athletes on how to make career outside sports by using the knowledge they gained during their active involvement in sports. Living proof of the said was the Olympian and co-worker of the International Olympic Committee and lead educator for the IOC’s Dual Career programs and one of workshop leaders Ana Jelušić, as well as Olympians-educators - boxer Željko Mavrović and table tennis
