During his career as a player with Jugoplastika, Kukoč has won three consecutive European Champion titles (1989, 1990, 1991) and after joining the NBA League as a Chicago Bulls player he won three consecutive Champion titles in the strongest world basketball league (1996, 1997, 1998) . He was proclaimed three times the EuroLeague Final Four Most Valuable Player (1990, 1991, 1993) and in the 1995/96 season. He has also won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award. With the National Olympic Basketball Team of the former Yugoslavia, Kukoč won the World Champion in Argentina in 1990, where has was also proclaimed the MVP, and two European Champion titles (1989, 1991). He won two silver medals at the Olympics, with Yugoslavia in Seoul in 1988 and with Croatia in Barcelona in 1992. After silver in Barcelona, Kukoč won two more bronze medals as member of the Croatian Olympic Basketball Team, at the World Championships in 1994 in Canada and at Eurobasket in 1995 in Athens. The official ceremony of induction in the FIBA’s Hall of Fame - House of Basketball, situated at the FIBA headquarters in Geneva - will be held on September 30.

Morana Paliković Gruden u svom je izlaganju istaknula da porast broja športašica nije praćen porastom broja žena na vodećim pozicijama te da „ženski glas“ nije ni približno zastupljen na rukovodećim i upravljačkim pozicijama u športskim organizacijama, iako su dokazale da mogu odlično odraditi upravo takav posao. Za završnicu ovog međunarodnog projekta kojim je rukovodila Alma Papić, usvojene su preporuke koje sudionici smatraju ključnima za konkretni iskorak u prostoru upravljanja žena u športu. Među njima su ustrajnost u razvoju modela koji će osigurati ravnopravnost na pozicijama odlučivanja u svom članstvu te učenja žena o upravljanju i poticanje umrežavanja. Sudionici Konferencije smatraju da nacionalne vlade kao i Europska komisija trebaju osigurati dovoljno financijskih i drugih resursa za provedbu ovih strateških aktivnosti u upravljanju u športu.

The Croatian Judo Federation Awarded for the Best Development in the World
The President of the Croatian Judo Federation and Vice-President of the Croatian Olympic Committee Sanda Čorak received a special award for the Best Development of a National Federation in the world at the Gala event held on August 28, 2017 in Budapest. The "Best Development of the National Federation" Award was presented to the Croatian Judo Federation President Sanda Čorak by President of the European Judo Union, Sergei Soloveychik. “This is a great honor to receive this award. For us 10 years ago it seemed impossible but we shared the same vision, implemented team work, and have been developing with the strong support of the judo community. I would like to thank to the IJF President Mr. Marius Vizer for always believing and supporting us and to the EJU President Mr. Soloveychik and the entire judo family”, said Čorak receiving the award which was presented in Budapest where the World Judo Championship is held.

Hrvatski olimpijski dan (HOD), dan osnivanja HOO-a (10. rujna 1991.) HOD, koji je bio uvod u velike uspjehe hrvatskog športa, obilježen je širom Hrvatske športsko-rekreativnim aktivnostima, posebice lokalnih športskih zajednica u Đurđevcu, Zadru, Osijeku, Jastrebarskom, Koprivnici, Škurinjskoj Dragi, Čakovcu, Đakovu, u Budrovcima, Đurđancima i Županji gdje je održana i središnja svečanosti. Prvi operativac HOO-a za šport na lokalnoj razini Siniša Krajač, izrazio je zadovoljstvo odazivom športskih zajednica koje, kako je naglasio, daju veliki doprinos utjecaju športa u hrvatskom društvu.
Officially signed Agreement on Hosting the European Games 2019 The President of the Croatian Olympic Committee, Zlatko Mateša, also a member of the European Olympic Committees’ Executive Committee and Deputy Chairman of EOC’s Coordination Commission for the European Games 2019, participated in signing the Agreement on hosting this continental multi-sports competition of a recent date. The Agreement was signed on September 1st, 2017 in the headquarters of the Belarus Olympic Committee in Minsk, in the presence of EOC’s Acting President Janez Kocijančić and other members of the European sports government. President Mateša, one of the leading men in the European Games Project, expressed his satisfaction that the first Games in Baku in 2015 justified the expectations, in terms of both sports results and television interest. "The European Games in Minsk will bring some more news that will be a step up in sports innovation that attracts the attention of young people in particular", said Mateša and announced the participation of the Croatian Sports Delegation. Croatian athletes finished their first appearance in Baku in 2015 with 11 medals.
