He soon found his own style which became a permanent characteristic of his work. In 1948, Radiša started to work for the daily newspaper Borba and continued his career by moving in 1954 to Sportske novosti. Since 1976, he has worked for SN revija. He was awarded a silver medal at the sports photography exhibition in Rome during the 1960 Olympic Games and won awards at exhibitionss of Yugoslav sports photography in Zagreb in 1960 and 1972. He also received several awards at YU PRESS-FOTO exhibitions. During the FIBA World Championships in Ljubljana in 1970 he staged an exhibition, YU košarka (Yugoslav Basketball), with Mladen Tudor. At the conclusion of the championship the exhibition was organized in the larger towns. Radiša was awarded “Milan Milanović” Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987. He retired two years later, but his spirit for photography and sports could not rest – even today Radiša visits athletic fields with a camera in his hands, snapping photographs for the Dinamo football club, the Croatian Olympic Committee, and the Zagreb Sports Association. For more than 60 years Radiša Mladenović has masterfully recorded the development and history of sports at the national level and has surely become the greatest legend in the Croatian sports photography.
