Lady Bulldogs get first win of the season

The Howe Lady Bulldogs (1-6) put up a 9-spot on Honey Grove in the first inning last week to get their first victory of the season. The big inning began as most do—with a walk. Jocee McCullar led off the game with a free pass followed by Emery Snapp. Meciaih Franklin was hit by a pitch and Kennadi Barrett singled in two runs. With one out, Chloe Scoggins doubled home Franklin to make it 3-0. Jordan Brunner followed with a single to score Barrett. Scoggins scored on a ground out by Shelbee Taylor to make it 5-0. The sixth run came when Payton Stapleton singled home Brunner. With two outs and batting through the lineup, McCullar singled and Snapp
singled, in which McCullar would score on a Franklin single to make it 80. Barrett doubled home Snapp to make it 9-0. The Lady Bulldogs would also add a 7-run inning in the fifth to run-rule the Lady Warriors 17-1. McCullar led Howe with four hits and three runs including a double.. Snapp had three hits for Howe including a double. Barrett and Brunner each led the team with three RBI in the contest. Riley Craven got the start in the circle and pitched 2.1 innings allowing no runs on one hit and one walk. She was relieved by Railyn Murphy who went 2.2 innings allowing one run on one hit and one walk.
