The Corn School Queen Pageant and The Howe School were well represented by cadets Ashley Bockholdt and Winnie Lo. Both of the ladies did an excellent job in all aspects of the contest - interview, talent and evening gown. Ashley sang an upbeat Motown hit by the Supremes, while Winnie played the piano and sang a piece by Avril Lavigne. Winnie Lo also won Miss Congeniality!

The Howe School was again well represented by Cadets Yunan "Nick" Zhou and Bree O'Neal, as both cadets WON their category at the Corn School Talent Competition on Friday night. Both cadets won as O'Neal played the violin and Zhou played the clarinet.

This was a great volleyball season for the Lady Wildcats! We had three wins this year against Lakeland, S.B. Career Academy, and Cornerstone Christian School. Our captains of the team were Christine Slamkowski, Joanna Cody, and Winnie Lo, and they did a great job of leading the team. This was a fantastic group of girls to work with this year; they worked hard, had positive attitudes, and displayed team unity. I will definitely miss the seniors and I wish them the best of luck (maybe we'll see a couple of them walk on to a college volleyball team)!

We've got a lot of good voices in the choir this year, and they are working to entertain the school with our "History of Rock n' Roll" concert for Mother's Day weekend.

Our favorite memory this year comes from Davie Holliday - he was doing some James Brown dance moves and when he went down on his knee, he split his pants! Davie also has been helping with the choreography for this year's concert - maybe this is his calling card!

On March 13, 2013, the corps traveled to the Henry Ford Museum on two charter busses. Upon arriving at the museum , box lunches were had by everyone. Once lunch was finished, the corps broke into their respective groups to begin touring the museum. There were many fascinating exhibits, including the Dymaxion House, the Rosa Parks Bus, the Kennedy Presidential limousine, the chair in which Lincoln was assassinated, an Allegheny locomotive and a DC-3 plane. There were several interactive sites in which the cadets participated. After a trip to the gift shop and for some, milkshakes at the Michigan Cafe, it was time to load the busses and head to Jackson, Ml for dinner. The Old Country Buffet was wonderful and everyone had a great meal before returning to Howe. Thanks go out to Mr. Clark and Mr. Humphrey for putting the trip together.
