Leadership Lane

The Legacy Giving covers three lanes that lead us to accomplish our ultimate legacy, leading people to a life-changing relationship with Jesus. The three Legacy Lanes are Missions, Projects, and Leadership.

Dear Legacy Team,

Every year, I take the last few months to give intentional thought to pursuing God, to get a sense of where and how He wants to lead us as a church for the upcoming year. In December I had a clear sense that 2025 would be the year of the Open Door for Hope City Church. That God would bless us to experience His favor and blessings as a church family. What I have come to know about God, through scripture and my own life experience, is that whenever God gives a person a vision, He will also provide the means to carry out the assignment.

We all continue to stand in awe of how God has provided for the church nancially, but even more so at the impact and lives changed that we see daily through the Cedar Valley Dream Center, our outreaches at our Cedar Heights location, our TV ministry, in prisons, and beyond. What the Lord whispered to our hearts in 2024 about this being a year of the Open Door is happening before our eyes! We have broken an attendance record every week for the last ve consecutive weeks! This has never happened in the life of the church, and we know it is the result of your prayers, excitement, and God’s faithfulness. There are open doors at UNI, Waterloo Schools, potential new Hope City locations, new global partners reaching parts of the world where we don’t have a presence. God has opened key strategic doors, now is the time to walk through them.

The Father has blessed each of us with spiritual gifts to serve others and make a di erence. Thank you for your obedience in sharing your gift of generosity as part of our Legacy team. Your generosity is having a huge impact on the lives of real people in our community and beyond. As we continue to be good stewards of our resources, we want to make sure that we have the margin to respond to needs and to walk through the doors that God will continue to open.

As you will see in this document, we have made progress in many of the areas, however, there are some pressing needs as well as opportunities for us as a church family. As you go through these pages, something speci c may catch your attention or connect with you. We believe that it is an invitation from Jesus to join Him in this area. We encourage you to pray and lean in on what God is asking you to do.

As fellow members of the Legacy team, we are honored and excited to see what God will do in and through us as we take part in His mission.

For the one, Pastors Quovadis and Angela Marshall
