There is no way to sugar coat it. Fans of the game missed the NCAA Championships. Twitter feeds were absent of the nail-biting, clock ending shots. There was no “March Madness” frenzy. No bracketology, hours of analyzing seeds or the non-stop banter that is usually pervasive in homes across America. But let’s not lose sight of the fact that there was still a season of amazing moments in the college game this year that deserve our appreciation. In April ESPN’s SportsCenter, unveiled the Basketball Hall of Fame’s Starting Five Awards. These are the top college players for both the Men’s and Women’s game in their position. The Naismith Starting Five program helps celebrate the skills and talents of today’s college stars, while giving Hall of Famers the opportunity to make a lasting impression on the next generation of players. Congratulations to this year’s winners, we look forward to the day when you are back on the hardwood.

"The Basketball Hall of Fame is proud to celebrate the best in the game, men and women at every level. While we share in the sentiment that we would have loved to see these studentathletes play out the 2019-20 season, we are proud to honor them for their accomplishments and present them with awards that will eternally tie them to the greats of the game.” - John Doleva, President & CEO
