It is Scribendisubmission time!Scribendiis a literary magazine that is conceptualized, designed, edited, and produced by Honors students just like you! It includes works of poetry, creative nonfiction, short fiction, foreign language, visual art, photography, and open media created by Honors students from across the country.Our submission deadline for this year isFriday, October 13, so make sure you get your submissions in! SCHOLARSHIPS

Goldwater Scholarship

The Goldwater Scholarship is a prestigious nationally competitive award given to 2nd and 3rd-year students in the STEM fields who have excelled academically (3.8 GPA or higher) and demonstrated potential as researchers. Recipients of this award receive up to $7,500 for educational expenses. More information about the award can be found here.

Our office will host an information session on the Goldwater Scholarship and campus application process. The session will be on Wednesday, October 4 from 4pm to 5pm in LSC 324. The 2023 Goldwater Scholars from Colorado State will be available to answer questions and provide advice.

Attention 3rd Year Undergrads! - Truman Scholarship

The Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising (OSFA) and the Truman Scholarship Selection Committee are pleased to announce the opening of the 2023-2024 Truman Scholarship Competition.

The Truman Scholarship is a prestigious nationally competitive award given to third-year undergraduate students. Competitive candidates of this award will have: 1) demonstrated a commitment to a career in public service, 2) displayed leadership or engaged in consensus building on campus or within their home communities, and 3) maintained a high GPA

Awardees receive: 1) $30,000 for graduate school expenses 2) optional participation in the Truman Summer Institute, a Washington D.C. based internship program available only to Truman Scholars and 3) lifelong membership in an active and growing network of alumni. Critical Language Scholarship

Want to immerse yourself in a foreign language through an all-expenses-paid intensive language program abroad? The Critical Language Scholarship is a fully-funded summer study abroad program for critical foreign languages open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Languages include Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and more. Additional details can be found on the CLS website.

The Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising is hosting an information session on the Critical Language Scholarship this next Thursday, October 5 from 4-5 p.m. in LSC 310. Please join us and learn more about this great opportunity.

Honors Thesis Transcribers Needed

Join my honors thesis community project in partnership with the Lutheran Family Refugee Resettlement Agency. This project aims to support refugees in their challenging transition to American life in Northern Colorado. Navigating a new culture and language can be daunting, so the goal is to provide tailored resources in their native language. Transcribers will be credited in the final project. The Morgan Library is looking for students to participate in our Undergraduate Student Advisory Board Do you know students who are thoughtful, engaged and willing to provide feedback about their experiences with the library?

Wednesday, October 25 12:00-1:00 at the Morgan Library Free lunch!

All students need to do is fill out this very short form by October 13 so we know they’re coming. At that point, we will send them a link to order their lunch.

RNA Club

The Colorado RNA Club is hosting a virtual panel discussion for undergrads and post-baccs interested in applying to life science graduate programs here in Colorado The panel is made up of grad program directors so the information will be applicable to students interested in many different research areas in life sciences (not just RNA focused students)
