RESEARCH AND INTERNSHIPS IT Data Analyst Internship Interested in a fulfilling career path that will enable you to join an employee-owned industry leader? SCHOLARSHIPS DAAD RISE Summer Internship The Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising wants to inform you about the DAAD RISE Summer Internship The Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) is a funded summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, earth sciences or engineering (or other closely related field). Students live in Germany for eight to ten weeks in the summer and assist doctoral students on research projects the working language is English. To qualify, students must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study by the start of the internship and plan to maintain their undergraduate status upon completion of the internship. Deadline: November 30. The RISE database lists over 578 internships for US and Canadian students. Last year, 4 CSU students were awarded RISE internships.


Udall Scholarship The Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising and the Udall Scholarship Selection Committee are pleased to announce the opening of the 2023-2024 Udall Scholarship competition. The Udall Scholarship is a prestigious nationally competitive award given to second and thirdyear undergraduate students who have demonstrated a commitment to environmental issues OR second and third-year undergraduate students who identify as American Indians or Alaskan Natives and would like to pursue careers in tribal public policy or Native American healthcare. The selection committee invites CSU faculty and staff to recommend students for this award. To recommend a student, contact Mary Swanson and provide her with the student’s name, contact information, and a brief description of why the student is a good fit for the Udall Scholarship. Mary can be reached at Mary.Swanson@colostate.edu or 970-491-2185. You also can encourage qualified students to attend an upcoming information sessions on the award. Previous Udall Scholars will be present to answer questions and provide advice for candidates.


PROGRAMS OF INTEREST Active Minds- Changing the Conversation about Mental Health We’re a student-led organization with the mission of raising awareness and creating conversations about suicide and mental health on college campuses. We want to make CSU a healthier community that’s not only mindful but also supportive of the idea that mental health is just as important as physical health. Be part of our movement to make CSU a happier place. Fall 2023 Meetings- 10/5, 10/19, 10/25, 11/2, 11/16, 12/7 Biweekly Thursdays 6-7pm in Eddy 117 Reasons to be a part of Active Minds: It’s noncommittal! No dues, no sign ups, just show up when you can! Easy to get leadership positions and be part of our planning committee Come for our de-stressing activities! CSU Orchestra Auditions Currently we offer two orchestras, both are open to music majors, minors, and non-majors. We particularly are in need of string players and encourage non-music majors to join us. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns any interested students have, including about time commitments and potential time conflicts. Auditions are held at the start of each academic year, but we are welcoming new string players into our ensembles this spring. Please encourage them to contact me directly at waddellr@colostate.edu . They are always welcome to observe rehearsals as well. Symphony Orchestra (Full Orchestra, Currently rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30-5:00 pm, Performs 2-3 times per semester. We are currently looking at reducing rehearsal to only 4 hours per week and considering other day/time options). Concert Orchestra (Currently strings only, Currently Rehearses Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00-2:30 pm, Performs 2 times per semester. We hope to open this group to winds, brass, and percussion as early as spring 2024. We may rehearse at a different time in spring 2024).
