Kurt & Kristen Kuhn

Welcome everyone to the 2024 edition of the T&E and Mr. K Angus bull and female sale. We will be holding our annual bid-off sale on DV Auction starting Monday, Feb 26th and concluding Monday, March 4th. We will again be hosting an open house at Travis’ place on Sunday, March 3rd from 1:00-5:00 pm to view the offering and enjoy a meal and refreshments.
To say this year has been a challenge is an understatement. That being said, the bulls and heifers still performed as they were bred to do. This year’s offering is one of the most consistent sets of bulls we have had the privilege of offering. These bulls have been developed to give you, the cattleman, piece of mind when it comes to longevity and functionality. All the bulls have been DNA tested using Angus GS and will have passed a breeding exam. These bulls are 100% guaranteed for the first breeding season.
We strive to use breed leading genetics to produce bulls and females that provide consistency from birth to growth with maternal qualities. This year’s bull sire battery includes Sitz Barricade, Sitz Resilient, SAV Bloodline, 4M Ace and Poss Rawhide as well as our own herd sire MK Coaltrain 937 and Poss No Doubt 0682.
We will also offer ten select females straight from our replacement pen. We believe these females represent a cross-section of the genetics we are using here at T&E and Mr. K.
We will gladly keep these heifers and breed them if that is something that interests you.
We here at T&E and Mr. K make every effort to produce Angus cattle that are both functional and sound. Through the use of such tools as DNA testing and EPD’s we want these cattle to improve your bottom line.
We want to extend a big thank you to all our past customers and friends that make what we do a worthwhile endeavor. We look forward to meeting new customers and providing your needs from top quality angus genetics.
Feel free to stop by anytime to view the offering as well as have your questions answered. Hope to see you all on March 3rd!
Sincerely, Kurt
Kuhn

SEMEN INTEREST We would like to retain semen for in herd use on a few bulls. It will be done at the sellers expense and buyers convenience.

339 is a bull that we are extremely excited about and has earned the right to lead off this years sale. He is a very balanced and complete bull in every aspect, he carries extra spring of rib, depth and muscle mass in a wide based free moving package. His EPD profile is very well balanced from top to bottom, while still maintaining elite growth numbers.
339 has a pedigree that should make outstanding females that will make an impact in your herd. Look for this Barricade to throw a little more frame than most. His young pathfinder dam has earned her way into our donor program with BR 4/105, WR 4/108, YR 3/105 and maintaining a calving interval of 365 days on her first 4 calves. She is also the dam of the high selling heifer in last year’s sale. Look for numerous progeny to be highlights in our future sales.

Here’s an exciting flush with a stacked pedigree, 3329 was the only bull out of the flush but on a higher note, we’ve got 5 flush sisters. He offers great growth from birth to yearling, as he ranks in top 10% for both WW and YW. A bull that has great length of side with a square hip in an attractive, clean fronted look. His dam has BR 4/96, WR 4/105 with a calving interval of 366 days on her first four natural calves. Full sister sells as lot 64.

Powerhouse bull here, really thick made, length, and square hipped as they come. He shows as

334 is exactly what we expected from Barricade moderate frame, deep flanked, capacious, thick made bull. Big time calving ease prospect, that should throw calves with some mass and muscle. 334 had an actual WW of 810lbs proof that you don’t need frame to make pounds. Dam is a Pathfinder too.
A blend of some new fresh genetics with some older time after time proven genetics. He offers adequate growth and power in this highly maternal bred bull. His dam has never missed an AI date and has also never had a heifer calf with BR 6/102 WR 6/103 YR 5/103 along with a calving interval of 366 days. I believe 605’s bulls are over looked every year, don’t over look this one.

350 holds the honors of the heaviest WW bull of his calf crop at 860lbs. He’s as deep ribbed bull as you’ll find with a powerfully square hip. 350 also has one of the largest birth to weaning spreads in the sale. These calves should hit the ground running while also leaving you some outstanding females with the Rawhide x Black Granite mating. Dam is a heavy producing cow with BR 7/102, WR 7/109 also with a calving interval of 367 on 7 calves.

Here’s a growthy bull that has more extension and length of side than most Rawhides. A performance-oriented bull that should still give you some outstanding easy fleshing females. I believe this mating of Rawhide x Thickcut will leave you herd impacting females. His dam is a young rising star with BR 2/97 and WR 2/112.
Trio of flush bothers to last year’s lead off bull M K Rowdy 2320 and these guys don’t disappoint either. They are identical in their type and kind, carrying tremendous growth from birth to weaning, with powerful herd bull presence. I believe their daughters will be outstanding cows. We will have full sisters in production this spring and we cannot be more excited, as this is my favorite flush to date of the great 511 cow. Their dam, M K Chloe 511, needs no introduction as she continues to be the matriarch of our herd. She is a model Angus cow with tremendous rib shape, depth of body and muscle expression. You will notice her influence throughout the catalog and will continue to in years to come.

This guy is the real deal and has been a favorite since day one, a real beef bull weaning off at 852 pounds for a ratio of 113. 365 has power and mass in a stylish attractive package, while also doing a lot of things right on paper. He will have a lot of friends on sale day.

Big cow bull with added frame, length and bone. If you have some smaller cows and want to add a punch to them look this guy up. Dam is also a real power cow with BR 8/111, WR 8/109 with a calving interval of 360 days.

Well balanced, moderate framed, stout made calf. You will admire the consistency and added pounds that these Ace sons have to offer. Ace just might be one of the most underrated bulls in the breed, his calves are extremely consistent and just flat get it done.

Bigger, rugged made Resilient son with more depth and mass than most. He has a +0.6 BW but I’m not going to call this guy a sure shot calving ease bull. His pathfinder dam is one of the best cows in the herd, continuously raising top end WW calves. 353 weaned off at 840lbs for WR 111. She has a BR 7/110 and WR 7/113.
Calving ease bull with some

Another Resilient son out of a first calf heifer with overall
and with his EPDs. Granddam is a pathfinder.

framed cow bull, with good length of side and hip to him. Bloodline x Thickcut should make some really long sided,

Downpour x 511 was our biggest flush group in last year’s sale and were extremely well received, going to some outstanding cow herds. This duo of brothers shows great muscle expression with powerful appearance. They also will have full sisters coming into production this spring that are highly anticipated.

Probably one of the most
soggy

Exciting calf here with the mating of 0682 and 438 who happens to be the dam of M K Thickcut. He has the rib shape and capacity with a tremendous hip, everything that his dam is known for.
Second youngest bull in the offering that has done an outstanding job with a WR of 108. Really clean fronted, sharp angular made bull that has look to him, he’s also going to give you some added frame. 0682 x B063 is an exciting mating with tons of performance to go along with great carcass and $ Values.
Super functional bull that’s

Duo of flush brothers that are pretty darn good, they could have easily been at the front of the catalog. If you are looking for some real performance beef bulls, these guys are it. Soggy made easy going docile bulls, that should put out some feeder cattle that will flat out gain.
He sells as a commercial bull, but I guarantee you he’s 100% Angus. He was just
out too good to steer. This guy has a look to him that will catch your eye, lots of power, mass in an attractive package.
As always, we like to showcase one of our owned herd sires on our fall calving cows. This year, we used M K Coaltrain 937 and Poss No

Again, we stacked some performance on this pedigree with
These two-years old ran on grass right along with the fall bulls this summer. They came in a little earlier than we

This guy very well could be the best bull in the sale. He’s got that look to him. Calving ease with as much natural muscle expression as you can find, he’s thick, square quartered, level topped, just very complete made in every aspect. Just absolutely one of my favorites.
Big growth bull with extra marbling in him, his $values
We used this bull last year on a smaller pasture and he got the job done. I really liked his pedigree and the look that he has. Good head, square made bull that still has that stylish look that 0682 gives. His dam has been a tremendous cow for me, serving as a donor with 7 daughters retained in the herd.

Big time cow bull, with breed leading performance numbers in every category. This guy is the cowboy kind just an absolute stud.

in him as well. These Maverick daughters are some of the best females on the ranch.

Truly a sale feature!! This was an extremely difficult decision to offer this female but we felt the need to offer the very best. 306 is very feminine in her make up but still shows great muscle shape, clean and smooth through her front, with rib shape, level top and a powerful hip structure. She also offers tremendous growth numbers with WW in top 10% and YW in top 15% all with a modest BW the breeding opportunities are limitless.
Her first calf Coaltrain dam is a beautiful feminine looking female with an excellent udder. We have high hopes for this young cow and shes off to a great start BR 1/105 and WR 1/116. We would like to retain one flush at a later date out of this great female. She will also be Angus GS tested by sale day.

This robust, powerful heifer has tremendous length of side, with a stylish eyecatching look. She has an absolutely stacked pedigree with an EPD profile that is hard to fault. Her Pathfinder donor dam has been a tremendous cow with power and muscle with her first 2 natural daughters retained. Her granddam is still also production at 15 years of age and has also served as donor. 3331 has 3 flush sisters being retained and a flush brother sells as lot 2.
Big time brood cow in the making here, this capacious heifer has tremendous rib shape and depth a true breeding piece. Attractive and balanced set of EPDS too. Her dam
been a very productive, fertile cow with BR 9/96 and WR 9/102 and a calving interval of 361 days, she also has 3 daughters retained in the herd.

Heifer that is easy on the eyes, her striking feminine look catches your attention. Beautiful headed, clean sharp fronted female with the bloodline length of side. She also has great carcass traits and $ Values. Really good pedigree to go with it all.

Stout made, long bodied, performance bred female who is attractive. These bloodlines are going to give you that extra rib we are always looking for. Grandam was a donor.

This very well could be my favorite heifer in the sale. She does carry a little more frame but is super attractive in her make up and design. 321 also carries a big growth spread, while still maintaining a high HP EPD and adequate milk. Dam is a real eye catcher with BR 3/101 and WR 3/101
Outstanding mating on this one combining Rawhide and Black Granite. The Black Granite females have been outstanding and the Rawhides are rising stars. 321 has the pedigree to make and a lasting impact on your herd, her EPD profile is also hard to fault, moderate birth, high growth, solid carcass and great $Values. Her dam has been a heavy producing cow with BR 6/100 WR 6/109

Powerful presence to this heifer with bone mass. She is out of one our best female producing cow lines and Coaltrain on her top side should be outstanding. Our first Coaltrain daughters in production look promising with perfect udder attachment and teat placement. Her highly fertile granddam never misses and had one of the top selling heifers in last year’s sale. She has 3 daughters retained in the herd with a BR 8/95 WR 8/103 with a calving interval of 358 days.

We end this year’s catalog with a stunning powerful beef heifer. 3303 has great depth of body, level topped, with a butt on her. Top 10% for WW and YW with the milk to keep her calves growing. She has 3 full sisters working in our herd along with 2 other sisters working in other programs. Her flush brothers sell as lots 43 and 44. Her dam is a highly fertile cow who averages 30 eggs per flush and has 10 daughters retained in the herd.

Thanks for your support!
