Welcome to the 28th Annual Brookhouser T-Bone Angus Bull Sale! This year holds special meaning to our family as it represents our 70th year of raising Registered Angus cattle. Over the last 70 years, we have seen a lot of changes and a lot of different directions to breed cattle; however, we remain committed to producing cattle that will thrive under the stringent criteria of the commercial cattlemen. Needless to say we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this milestone of 70 years without our customers. To each and every one who has supported our operation over the years… Thank you!
What a great time to be in the cow business. With cow numbers declining even further, the cow calf producer has more leverage than ever and should be able to reap the reward of their commitment to the industry! Quality cattle have never been in higher demand and we feel this set of bulls will help to position you to take advantage of it.
This year’s line up is anchored by our Senior Herd Sires Sterling Pacific 904 and Connealy Shamrock. Both of these sires have been extremely impactful to our operation and have proven themselves in our herd and across the nation! The bulls in this sale represent our commitment to produce balanced trait cattle that excel in real world function and will enhance the profitability of our customers. New to the sale this year, there will be selling 30 fancy commercial replacement heifers sired by top end T-Bone Angus bulls. These heifers originate from Ryan and Jake Crumly and were hand-picked for this sale from over 230 head.
If you are new to our program, we invite you to reach out to us with any questions you may have about the bulls or about our operation! We believe in developing these cattle with longevity in mind. The bulls have not received any creep feed and have been on a high roughage growing ration since weaning. We also believe in data! The bulls come with complete performance data including weights, ultrasound carcass information, scrotal circumference, foot and docility scores. They have also had the Angus GS genomic and parentage test done.
Thank you for your interest and we hope you will join us on March 14th at the Atkinson Livestock Market!

a Note from our Sale Manager
Welcome to the 2024 Brookhouser T-Bone Angus Bull Sale! As I write this letter, the market fundamentals of the beef cattle market are poised to bring values to cattle we have never seen before. The rewards of this way of life are about to come to fruition in a way we have not seen before. No longer can the desire for great beef or huge consumption be met by our production or cow numbers. One of the fundamentals in our favor for higher cattle prices is that the physical task of running cows is a challenge most people no longer want to do. Therefore, the rewards for people who do want this way of life to continue are becoming greater. My sincere hope and prayer is that you all reading this have positioned yourself to get those much-needed rewards. You deserve it!
I can think of no better or deserving seedstock operation to help support or fulfill your genetic needs than Brookhouser T-Bone Angus. A hard-working, young growing family in Alex and Mary — they are a great team and the driving force behind the program. Alex has one of the keen eyes in the business with a great work ethic; that is always a great combination. His family brings great support and teamwork to
the operation that has created genetics that have received national attention and success. His bull offering this year is impressive, and I believe the most consistent set he has raised. Thick and big-topped, these bulls have the potential to go on to help genetically position many programs for a market that will be looking for Prime grades, as well as females that can be retained to perform in any environment. Take a close look. The more you look the more you will find.
As always, I give my highest recommendation to the integrity of this operation and family. They are salt of the earth people who strive to be Godly, consistent, and neighborly. You can trust the data, the cattle, and the people. That is a great recipe to help you make wise decisions for this unbelievable market ahead. If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me anytime, anywhere.
God Bless - Chris Earl
Shamrock CONNEALY
TOP 25% OF THE BREED FOR 16 EPDS!
Connealy Shamrock was our top selection from the 2019 Connealy Angus Sale. A phenotypic stud! Shamrock is masculine, heavy muscled, thick quartered and stands on great feet. Shamrock is sound structured and free moving with excellent libido and has covered big groups of cows here the past several years. Maybe his greatest strength, Shamrock is a son of Elbanna of Conanga 1209. 1209 is widely considered the greatest cow ever raised at Connealy Angus and the mother of many herd sires including Confidence Plus. Shamrock daughters were the standouts in the 1st calf heifer pen last year.
Shamrock is leaving his mark in the Angus breed! His sons are masculine, stout made, good footed, with big testicles and his daughters are feminine, broody heifers that are destined to make tremendous cows.

HEIFER PREGNANCY (HP) EPD
Use Heifer Pregnancy (HP) EPDs to compare sires ability to sire fertile replacement females! Heifer pregnancy EPDs are to be used as a tool to increase the chance of a sire’s daughters becoming pregnant during a normal breeding season. A higher EPD is the more favorable direction for selection pressure. As with other EPDs, the relative difference among sires is of importance rather than the absolute value.
Figure 1 provides an example of the use of heifer pregnancy EPDs. Assume there are 100 daughters for each of the two bulls, managed and treated alike in the same breeding environment. When comparing the two bulls, one would expect an average of 5 more pregnant daughters out of 100 from Bull A compared with Bull B. Essentially Bull A’s daughters have a 5% greater chance of becoming pregnant than Bull B’s daughters.
Figure 1. HP EPD example (Bull A +13% • Bull B +8% • Difference 5%)

TBA Driver 1514 is a Driver son we retained from the 2021 calf crop. 1514 is a phenotypically impressive individual that has turned into a fantastic breeding bull. His dam goes back to the great ABA Queen 3155 that was one of the most prolific females in our herd with over 12 daughters retained.
