Cattlemen, as another year goes by and we all think about our operations, I think it is a really good opportunity to look at the industry we are involved in and how our individual operations have an effect on that. As we all know we are each a step in a long process, but we have to figure out how to capitalize on the market we choose to hit while also realizing we need to be able to produce cattle that will provide profitability at each level in the chain past ours. As technology increases and weaknesses show now more than ever, as a producer we have to insure we are raising cattle that will profit for the next owner, whoever that is and whatever stage of life our cattle are in. So yes, we are demanding a lot out of the animals and us as producers. Whether its feeder cattle that perform at weaning, the finishing lot and on the grid, or replacements that breed, and develop into cows that raise a big calf year after year. That is a tall order, but it is what our industry demands.
With my consulting job, it has given me such an eye opening and behind the scenes look at the final step in the cattle business. The packer, and how important their final bid is. As true cowmen and women, most importantly we all want to look at a beautiful set of cows. But we also need to realize that the majority of our industry shows up on shelves in the grocery store. With the feeding programs available and the ability to track these cattle from day 1 on the ground into the yard and finally the rail, while also showing individual gain, carcass weight, grade, and giving the feeder an exact close out on each animal it puts a huge demand on the producer. There is no option to get blindsided in our individual operation, just like when it comes to buying a bull, you have many choices, so does the finishing yard.
However, when I see what these elite Angus genetics are doing for the rancher, backgrounder, finisher, packer, and ultimately the end consumer, it is truly amazing. The reports and data given back from the packer to the finisher, and back to the rancher gives proven information when it comes to Rate of Average Daily Gain, Conversion, Yield and Grade, and believe me when finishing yards do close outs those are the numbers that show up. The results show that what we are doing as in industry is impressive, but like all models, there is a top and average selection. Whether it is the finishing yard or the order buyer, it is obvious that they understand genetics more than many of us realize.

We have had the unbelievable opportunity to sell our bulls to some of the top cattle operations in the state and in return have had them advertise our name on their sale day. Believe me, we do not take that lightly! Our dedication to providing cattle that will perform at all levels but never underestimating the maternal importance will never change, this is truly the home of “Maternal Drive Performance”. As always when I know calves sired by our bulls go through the ring. I will make as many calls to as many finishing yards as I can to ensure your success on sale day. It is truly understood we are all in this together and our success depends on your success. We invite you to look at this set of bulls, I think you will find the kind of consistency, proven maternal traits, performance, and end product values second to none.
Sincerely, Cody Sitz & Family

Front to back, top to bottom this bull is thick upon thick upon thick. He will definitely be one of the lead-off bulls for the day, phenotype that just won’t quit and backed by a powerful B/R cow that is proving herself to be one of the best for sure. She adds frame, power, fertility, perfect foot and udder. I can’t find anything she lacks but if there is this bull fills any void. Not sure how to describe this bull other than a true cattleman’s dream. Take a long look at him and you will know what I mean, moderate, deep with the classic Resilient pattern and a paper profile that is absolutely impeccable. First of all RADG and $F are breed leading plus Top 10% $G, $M and Marbling over 1! He has a big Ribeye, top 10% CW, $W, $C but putting his elite donor cows finishing touches on this bull is where it separated him from the pack. Top 2 % Weaning Weight and Yearling Weight with TOP 1% HP. Those are breed leading EPDs out of a breed leading cow. A rare chance to buy a bull that is absolutely stacked with maternal longevity, docility, and performance while coincidingly topping the charts in end product value. I would like to collect this bull for in herd use before delivery.

Here is the more moderate choice from the same flush as Lot 11. Same maternal value in a dialed back package that wont sacrifice growth or maternal. He was raised by a sale barn cow that I don’t think had much milk but once he got on the level playing field in the development lot he started to shine. Top 30% YW, HP, and Docility. Plus top 15% WW, $W and top 10% $M. Phenotype with proven maternal history not sure how to find a negative in that.
The 2189/Resilient flush has proven to be one of the best maternal combinations to date. The 2189 donor cow is one you will hear about for years to come. While she was here she proved herself year after year, but until I started researching her data is where I found her unbelievable performance. She was a pathfinder cow who Ai bred every year of her life. With a set of twins in there she still maintained a calving interval of 12 calves with a 362 day interval. At age 13 she raised a bull calf that had a WW ratio of 111! He sold in last years sale to Terry and Roberta Stout from Burwell NE so you know his performance and maternal value was second to none. We retired her and began the flushing after that where she absolutely pumped out the embryos, I had seven ET daughters out of her this year and a couple bull calves, an elite cow that will have a tremendous impact at 36 Angus.

Calving ease 2-year-old option, he is going to provide sleep all night calving ease without sacrificing the ability to put the replacements in your pen or have that first calf heifer sell a profitable steer. Again the more you study the Resilient phenotype the more you appreciate them. Calving ease and profitability at all levels. This bull ranks the top 25% Marbling, $G and CEM, 20% HP, 10% $W, CED and elite calving ease top 2% BW and $M. Definitely more than just a heifer bull here.

This bull ranks in the top 30% HP, $C, and $F, top 25% CW, 15% $M, YW and the top 10% WW, and a huge Ribeye, and in the top 3% $W. Perfect combination of Logo Maternal and Doc power.

We purchased 10949 or as we nicknamed him “Sandhiller” on the 2020 Sitz Angus Fall Bull sale. His ability to sire extreme calving ease, tremendous growth, easy fleshing cattle, put a stamp like no other on his sons and rank in the top 10% in Docility and pass those traits directly to his calves just felt like he was making the perfect Sandhill style of cattle. Those remarkable traits and phenotype put this bull right up there with all the big-name bulls in the business, also notice he is out of an Investment daughter. That is all showing up, with his true legacy he is leaving behind are his daughters, we calved out the first group of them this year and it was truly a pleasure. Docile, fertile, good uddered, feminine, and extreme maternal instincts. Unfortunately, we lost this bull to a breeding accident this year but have learned the importance of having straws in the Ai tank. We will go back and use this bull heavily; you won’t have to look very hard to find these Sandhiller sons. It’s hard to look past them.

Sitz Broken Bow 10949, Sire of Lots 15-23
Massive built Sandhiller son out of a long-time producing cow. She raised this calf at 12 years of age and Ai bred right back. Can’t ask much more than that and she gave me a full brother again this year. If you are looking for those high-performance cattle look no further. She probably showed her age a little with his weaning weight but look how he smashed the scale at yearling. If you are looking for yearling type cattle, this is the bull to do it. We are still waiting for a few DNA EPDs to come back. Will have updated data sheets on sale day, but his numbers will impress.

Good topped bull with some length, that just hits that target of a problem free universal bull that is going to leave you with replacements and a pen of steers that will attract the buyers eye through the ring. His maternal granddam is the dam of Lot 1 and his dam has Ai bred her first 3 calves. Also this bull shows it is evident Sandhiller calves are going consistently have the right look and he is going to pass through his end product values while not sacrificing his maternal progeny. Will have his updated data on sale day but this bull could go to any ranch and give them what they are looking for.
One of the youngest bulls in the sale but you wouldn’t know it by looking at him. This bull is a great representation of his sire, he’s got the phenotype and performance. His cow has done a great job now on her first 2 calves. Her standout bull calf last year was Lot 3 and sold to Chris Bender. 360 grew big this
Scrotal, CW, and top 5% $F. Will leave you with the daughters you are looking for and steers that perform at every level, he’s worth taking a look at.

The first of the tremendous 567 donor cow and Stellar mating. This flush has put some of the most appealing heifers on the place. All 3 of these full brothers will give you the opportunity to capture the standout female phenotype from Stellar coupled with an extremely fertile cow with longevity and phenotype right up to raising her last calf at 13 years of age at 36 Angus then on to a commercial operation for 2 more years. Again, plug and play for all 3 full brothers. 256 was put on cows at our ranch this past year and was checking cows nonstop, he is ready to have the pasture to himself and get the job done.
If you’re looking for the moderate daughters with the deep, good fronted look these are the bulls to look at. The donor cow 567 was born in 2007, and as we all know the EPDs may get outdated but a quality cow never does. Bull 350 weaned off at over 680 lbs and is one of those bulls to stop and look at.

Embryo transplant out of the 207 donor cow and has the Powerball genetics, a unique bull that again is going to appeal to those producers that want to keep moderate cow size in check while getting the benefit of the classic Powerball phenotype. His sire Sitz 643D carries that look on as this bull matures there is no doubt he will follow suit. These cattle are absolute meat wagons and have proven data of performing bigger than the numbers tell you and give you end-product values to hit that choice market every time, he weaned off at nearly 700 lbs and did great this fall. Look at his top 35% CW, Marbling, 25% $F, $G, $B, $C and top 20% Ribeye. Really cool bull here.

These 2-year-old Active Duty bulls are ones to look at if you want the length and power in a mature package. We raised 857 and was a bull we just couldn’t part with and used him for several years. These are the last bulls we have out of him but his daughters in our herd are making tremendous cows. 261 is a long and big bodied bull, out of a tremendous cow and is one to stop and look at. Ranks in the top 30% $F and 25% Scrotal, CW, and $W. Solid bull that won’t disappoint.
The other 2-year-old that hands down is going to leave you with the type of heifers you will want to

With the massive amount of heifers compared to bull calves born here this year and last year both we are comfortable letting some of the top females find a new home. Here are 3 feminine females that posted big Weaning Weights and are out of proven cows and some of our favorite sires.
