It is truly an honor and a humbling experience to connect with individuals in the cattle business and the Angus breed. Each interaction reminds us of the blessings we receive in the cow/calf industry.
This is an exciting and opportune era to be involved in the cow/calf business. The present time is filled with great promise, as strong markets lie ahead. It is a long-awaited and well-deserved reward for hardworking cattlemen like yourselves, who understand the potential that lies in front of us. Sourcing premium genetics will lead to the next reward. Feedyards value and pay a premium for these genetics, especially when backed by bulls with EPDs that align with their criteria. The fundamentals are in place to continue this for a considerable time, which reinforces our commitment and dedication to this industry.
Each year, our main goal is to provide you with an offering that is consistent, deeper, and stouter. We are proud to present this group as an honorable embodiment of our goal, offering you real and longterm results. Throughout this offering, you will find cattle backed by cows sourced from the best, most productive, performance-based cows within our herd, along with donors with elite genetics from across the country. Every bull in the sale comes with a first breeding season guarantee, which is outlined on page 2. Additionally, all animals are DNA tested and have enhanced EPDs. Prior to the sale, please feel free to stop by to visit and view the offering at your convenience. We would be happy to discuss the offering and your needs at any time.
As always, until May 1, we offer free board for all bulls purchased. Additionally, we will be delivering nationwide free of charge for any purchase that exceeds $4,500. For purchases below that amount, we still ensure your purchases will be safely delivered.
Your consideration of our offering is truly an honor for us. We deeply appreciate your continued trust in our program and are incredibly grateful for the friendship we have built in this business. Another calving-ease, high marbling, and $C Exponential son stemming from the same great Barbramere cow family. 312 scores 17 EPDs or $indexes in the top 25% of the breed.

As this sale approaches, the beef business is accelerating to levels of value we have never seen before. This will not be a short cycle. We are entering a place in the market where the efforts of the American producer will be rewarded, and beef will soon be priced as a highly-desired need, and not simply a commodity.
This sounds much like the Kenny program. The focus in genetic advancement at Kenny Angus over the last five years has become recognized and valued by the marketplace. Bulls and females have gone on to to do exciting things for their new owners, which is always a great sign for the brand.
As you view this year’s offering, you will again notice the selection pressure on muscle, length, and structure. As the crowd builds every year at the sale, there is no doubt, they come to see the physical presence of these animals. The combination of data for calving-ease and end-product merit on an impressive individual is a rare combination that continually improves and impresses at Kenny Angus. Through the use ET at an elevated level on an elite donor pen with progressive sires, the genetic focus at Kenny Angus has never been better. That is to your benefit as the genetic investment opportunities grow in quantity and value.
With every year that goes by, my level of admiration for people and programs that exhibit hard work, integrity, and grit grows. The Kenny family and their unwavering commitment to those virtues is inspiring. One of the pillars of our business is to assist and serve great people. Bid, buy, or inquire with the greatest confidence as we give our highest recommendation to the people and program. Please, feel free to reach out anytime about the offering. See you in Northwest Iowa on March 8th!
God Bless - Chris Earl

The CAB® icon will appear on the pedigree of those bulls that meet the criteria for targeting the Certified Angus Beef® Brand. Only 1 in 4 non-parent bulls in the Angus breed qualify.
Expected Progeny Difference (EPD) , is the prediction of how future progeny of each animal are expected to perform relative to the progeny of other animals listed in the database. EPDs are expressed in units of measure for the trait, plus or minus. Interim EPDs may appear on young animals when their performance has yet to be incorporated into the American Angus Association National Cattle Evaluation (NCE) procedures. This EPD will be preceded by an “I”, and may or may not include the animal’s own performance record for a particular trait, depending on its availability, appropriate contemporary grouping, or data edits needed for NCE.
Calving Ease Direct (CED) , is expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf heifers. It predicts the average difference in ease with which a sire’s calves will be born when he is bred to first-calf heifers.
Birth Weight EPD (BW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
Weaning Weight EPD (WW) , expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit weaning growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
Yearling Weight EPD (YW) , expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
Scrotal Circumference EPD (SC), expressed in centimeters, is a predictor of the difference in transmitting ability for scrotal size compared to that of other sires.
Maternal Milk EPD (Milk) , is a predictor of a sire’s genetic merit for milk and mothering ability as expressed in his daughters compared to daughters of other sires. In other words, it is that part of a calf’s weaning weight attributed to milk and mothering ability.
Docility (Doc) , is expressed as a difference in yearling cattle temperament, with a higher value indicating more favorable docility. It predicts the average difference of progeny from a sire in comparison with another sire’s calves. In herds where temperament problems are not an issue, this expected difference would not be realized.
Carcass Weight EPD (CW) , expressed in pounds is a predictor of the differences in hot carcass weight of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
Marbling EPD (Marb) , expressed as a fraction of the difference in USDA marbling score of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
Ribeye Area EPD (RE) , expressed in square inches, is a predictor of the difference in ribeye area of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.

$Value Index ($Value) , an economic selection index allows multiple change in several different traits at once pertaining to a specific breeding objective. The $Value is an estimate of how future progeny of each sire are expected to perform, on average, compared to progeny of other sires if the sires were randomly mated to cows and if calves were exposed to the same environment.
Maternal Weaned Calf Value ($M) , an index, expressed in dollars per head, predicts profitability differences from conception to weaning with the underlying breeding objective assuming that individuals retain their own replacement females within herd and sell the rest of the cull female and all male progeny as feeder calves. The model assumes commercial producers will replace 25% of their breeding females in the first generation and 20% of their breeding females in each subsequent generation. Traits included are as follows: calving ease direct, calving ease maternal, weaning weight, milk, heifer pregnancy, docility, mature cow weight, claw set and foot angle.
Beef Value ($B) , a terminal index, expressed in dollars per carcass, to predict profitability differences in progeny due to genetics for postweaning and carcass traits. This terminal index assumes commercial producers wean all male and female progeny, retain ownership of these animals through the feedlot phase and market these animals on a carcass grid. Traits included in the index are as follows: yearling weight, dry-matter intake, marbling, carcass weight, ribeye area and fat.
Combined Value ($C) , an index, expressed in dollars per head, which includes all traits that make up both Maternal Weaned Calf Value ($M) and Beef Value ($B) with the objective that commercial producers will replace 20% of their breeding females per year with replacement heifers retained within their own herd. The remaining cull heifer and steer progeny are then assumed to be sent to the feedlot where the producers retain ownership of those cattle and sell them on a quality-based carcass merit grid. Expected progeny differences (EPDs) directly influencing a combined index: calving ease direct (CED) and maternal (CEM), weaning weight (WW), yearling weight (YW), maternal milk (Milk), heifer pregnancy (HP), docility (DOC), mature cow weight (MW), foot angle (Angle), claw set (Claw), dry matter intake (DMI), marbling (Marb), carcass weight (CW), ribeye area (RE) and fat thickness (Fat).
ADJ 205 - Weaning weights adjusted to 205 days of age and for age of dam. (Quality of recipient dams will affect weights of ET calves.)
ADJ 365 - Weight, scrotal circumference adjusted to 365 days of age.
ADJ %IMF - The amount of desirable fat or marbling in the ribeye muscle adjusted to 365 days of age.
ADJ Ribeye - Measured in square inches and adjusted to 365 days of age. Most heritable of all carcass traits.
PERCENTILE RANKINGS for EPDs and $Indexes allow you to see how the cattle in the sale offering stack up to any Angus bull/female within their respective breed, not just those in our sale group.
