The Bartels Family would like to personally invite you to join us on Tuesday, March 21, for our annual production sale. We are excited for you to evaluate this year’s bull crop. My wife brought it to my attention that every year I say “this year’s bull crop is the best we’ve ever produced”. Each year we continue to learn and improve to better serve you. So, I can say with confidence, this year’s bull crop is the best we’ve ever produced and we can’t wait to share them with you.
As you analyze the offering, I hope you also notice that we take an aggressive approach to embryo transfer. You also may notice that many of the embryo calves are out of older, more time-tested cows. This reverts back to our focus on productive and proven females. One-fifth of the sale is out of cows ten years old or older and that’s a fact we are proud of. We know that time is money and you don’t have time to mess with problem cows or calves. We do our best to perfect our herd, to in-turn do the same for you.
We realize there is a bull sale every day this time of year and know you have many choices in seedstock providers. That’s why we want your experience to be much more than buying a bull. Our goal is to build relationships and to help you become more profitable. We want to genuinely thank all of our customers who have been with us for years. We appreciate your business and confidence in us. Your loyalty means the world to us! For those of you looking at our program for the first time, we welcome you, and want you to know we are committed to helping you be successful.
We value the time spent before the sale discussing your herd’s needs and goals and welcome you to the ranch anytime to evaluate the bulls. We thank you for your interest and love to talk cattle, so feel free to call anytime.

VIEWING THE AUCTION. The auction will be broadcast online at Bid.SuperiorLivestock.com and the pre-recorded videos will also be hosted there. You do not need an account just to watch the auction or view videos of the sale offering.
ONLINE BIDDING. Go to Bid.SuperiorLivestock.com for Superior’s new online bidding platform. If you have not registered there before you will need to create an account. The first time you register an account you will receive a confirmation e-mail that you must click on. Once you have completed this, select the auction you would like to bid on and click the “Request a Buyer Number” button. The first time you request a buyer number you will be sent a confirmation code via text. Enter that code in the login portal and you will receive a buyer number. This 2-step verification process will only have to be done once and in the future you will be able to simply login and request a buyer number and receive it instantly for any auction. Once you have successfully registered and received a buyer number it will show your name and buyer number on both the video preview page and the online bidding page when you are logged in. If you have an account at LiveAuctions.tv you may skip the registration process and use those login credentials to request a buyer number as LiveAuctions is a division of Superior Livestock. For more details on registering an account and also how to bid, you may watch a tutorial at Bid.SuperiorLivestock.com/how-it-works.
TURN IN BIDS OVER THE PHONE . This is Superior’s traditional method of buying cattle and is the suggested process for anybody who does not have consistent, high-speed internet. You still must register an account at Bid.SuperiorLivestock.com and request a buyer number. Once you receive a buyer number you will see the bid line phone number. Just watch the auction online and call in at least 2 lots ahead of the lot you are looking to bid on. A Superior Livestock representative will be with you on the phone and will assist you in placing bids. For assistance, call Superior Productions at 800-422-2117.

We also want to take an opportunity to say “Thank You” to our family and our great crew. Craig and I are blessed to be surrounded by a great group of guys that always jump into whatever the project is. Eric Antholz and Dan Marks have been here since I was in kindergarten! They handle the day-to-day operations of our crop operation and much of the mechanic work we have. Chris Goebel is our Jack of all trades and handles everything from calving and breeding to haying and irrigating. Kasey Ord is our livestock specialist and manages the feedlot and much of the chute work around breeding season. He also helps with some of the haying duties and much of the grain handling. Bailey Wink started with us last summer. His diverse livestock knowledge and can-do attitude make him a great new addition to our crew!
Those of you in this business also know the time commitment involved, and we know we couldn’t do it without the help and support of our families. We want to take a moment to say Thank You to our wives and kids, as well as our parents. The support and help they give is immeasurable and we are thankful for it every day!

Fair and Square, an ST Genetics bull, was chosen for his maternal pedigree and balanced traits. His progeny have plenty of muscle and growth, and are quiet to handle. We expect his daughters to be top notch as his dam is a phenomenal female.
DAM’S WWR 2@96. Recommended for cows. Moderate, thick, wide, and soggy describe these flush brothers. Dam is a top notch Onward out of 2005. These bulls would make a great pair for anyone’s breeding pasture.

Milestone, an ABS bull, was a late arrival here during breeding season so his crop is extremely limited. He was chosen for his birth to yearling spread, along with excellent feet, and maternal power. Dam is a 12-year-old Pathfinder that traces back to the angus matron Sitz Everelda Entense 1137.

DAM’S WWR 2@113. We received Milestone semen on one of the last days of our breeding season so we didn’t get as much put in as we wanted to. The calves we have are long bodied with a calving ease look. They are born easy and have excellent vigor. With Everelda Entense, Blackcap May, and Black Crane in the same pedigree, we expect outstanding daughters.
We were fortunate enough to get a few straws of No Doubt. Because of its rarity it was only used in our Embryo Transfer Program. His calves have been in high demand across the country and rightly so. They quickly rise to the top as calves with adequate growth and excellent phenotype. Help yourself to these bulls as there are not many around.
DAM’S WWR 2@96. This set of No Doubts exemplify our ideas of balance. Generally they are Deep sided and dense made with excellent feet and a quiet disposition. Their dam, Bartels Elmay Exec 5026, is unmatched for phenotype, performance, production, and fertility. She is the highest $C, second highest $B. and third highest Scrotal Circumference EPD daughter of Onward in the breed. Her sons and daughters will highlight our sales for years to come. Her maternal sister, Bartels Elmay Exec 4003 is the dam of the $78,000 Bartels Bonanza 01 and her dam, Bartels Elmay Exec 2005 is the dam of our high selling yearling bull in 2019, Bartels Gunner 845. Maternal brothers to lots 65-66.

Downpour will sire massive, easy fleshing progeny with power and pay weight. His daughter milk well and have plenty of capacity.
DAM’S WWR 6@110. Crossing two premier cow families has produced four performance bulls with gas in the tank and the potential for maternal greatness. Their Pathfinder dam, Patricia Y468, is a maternal sister to angus royalty including KCF Bennett Fortress, Summation, and Citation. The first Y468 daughters here exhibit exceptional mothering ability, abundant milk, and excellent performance. This will also be the last set of direct sons of Y468. If you sell by the pound look here. Downpour is siring large scaled cattle with mass and muscle and these bulls are no exception.
Voltage is owned with Blake Crawford, and is available through BEEF360. He is a resident herd sire with numerous progeny now in the herd. Expect big barreled, long bodied progeny with slick hair, excellent feet, and a quiet disposition. Daughters are milky with perfect udders.
DAM’S WWR 2@103. Recommended for large framed heifers. Outstanding growth projections on this well made Voltage son. Dam is a larger framed Sure Fire daughter.
DAM’S WWR 1@102. Recommended for cows. One of my favorite fall bulls. Long, deep, and dense. Dam is a hard-working Courage daughter.

K C F Bennett Absolute
DAM’S WWR 4@100. Recommended for heifers. An excellent older bull for a larger group of heifers. Dam is a deep sided Absolute daughter.
Countryman, owned with Blake Crawford, was our pick of the 2020 Connealy spring sale. With several calf crops under his belt, Countryman has solidified himself as a calving ease bull with ideal growth. This high $C sire is loaded with convenience traits, and his pedigree reads maternal excellence. First daughters here are impressive.
DAM’S WWR 1@106. Recommended for cows. A top-shelf bull. Dam is one of the best old cows on our place. She has daughters, granddaughters, and great granddaughters in our herd doing great things.
DAM’S WWR 5@103. Recommended for cows. Slick haired and attractively built. Dam is a hardworking Reflection daughter.
DAM’S WWR 6@108. Recommended for heifers. These uniquely bred bulls came to us as embryo purchases from Knoll Crest. Thomas Patricia 9705 is one of the breed’s elite females with sons and grandsons in AI studs and purebred herds across the county including KCF Bennett Summation, KCF Bennett Optimizer, KCF Bennett Fortress, KCF Bennett Revere, and KCF Bennett Immense, as well as the $65,000 2020 Angus Foundation heifer. Fintry of Graham 48708, raised in the historic Graham herd in Albany Georgia, is an outcross bull to most everything available today. His progeny are generally deep sided, free moving, and quiet. The few daughters we have had are very productive cows.
Basin Payweight 1682
Connealy Payraise
DAM’S WWR 1@102. Recommended for cows. This dense made Payraise is something special. His maternal lineage has produced power, mass, and plenty of pay weight. His full sister in blood is our favorite first calf heifer. Don’t miss this bull.
DAM’S WWR 3@105. Recommended for cows. Last, but most definitely not least, is this standout Renown son. His dam, Elsa Plus 2020 is also the dam of Accelerated Genetics bull Bartels Asset 402. This bull will catch your eye with his sharp made front and flashy design. We produced this flush several years ago but just got around to putting these eggs in, and glad we did! Good bull!
This year we are offering 50 open commercial Angus heifers private treaty. These females come from our registered and commercial herds. They are straight bred Angus and descend from some of our best bulls. They have been Officially Calfhood Vaccinated and had their reproductive tract checked and scored. They are also up to date on their vaccinations and are ready to breed. This year, however, they will not be a part of this sale. Instead, they are available now through the bull sale privately, first come-first serve. They will weigh roughly 800-900 pounds and will be available in multiples of 5. They are priced at $1600 per head. Please contact Mike if you have interest in these females. If you cannot pick them up, delivery cost is the buyers responsibility and heifers must be removed by April 1.
Delivery cost on these heifers is at the buyers expense and must be removed by April 1.
There are no registered females in this sale because we wanted to get everyone calved out and data collected. We will have registered and commercial pairs available private treaty close to grass time.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
