AUTOMATED CART PROGRAM RESIDENTS OF UNINCORPORATED BREVARD COUNTY The County’s new Solid Waste Collection Contract with Waste Management begins on October 1, 2013. Please begin using your automated garbage cart (green lid) and automated recycling cart (yellow lid) on this date. • Your service day is located on the top of your cart. • Service levels will not change. You will still receive twice-a-week garbage collection and once-a-week collection for recycling and yard waste. • There are NO changes to yard waste collection. Please continue as usual and remember, DO NOT BAG YARD WASTE or use your garbage cart or recycling cart for yard waste. Loose materials such as pine needles, leaves, and small twigs and branches need to be containerized in reusable garbage cans less than 40-gallons in size. • Single Stream Recycling allows you to place all your recyclables into the automated cart with the yellow lid. All the items can be put together, no sorting needed. • Holiday Schedule – Waste Management will NOT furnish collection services on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day. There will be no make-up days. Residents will be serviced on their next scheduled service day.
