Ateneu Fort Pienc

Announcement Day in Barcelona An exhibition by artist and graphic designer Albert Ruiz Villar will be on show at the Centre Cívic Ateneu Fort Pienc in Barcelona from 14 January to 7 February. Titled “Anunciación: consequencias”, the collection brings together the core aspects of Barcelona-based Ruiz Villar’s work, “a mix of maps, stratus, marks and scars”. www.fortpienc.org / www.ruizvillar.net

Theatre Festival

Annual Cultural Showcase in Málaga Málaga city’s theatres will be the centre of cultural activity in January and February with the 31st Festival de Teatro offering a record 75 performances. Most will be held at the Teatro Echegaray and Teatro Cervantes, but the programme (9 January to 16 February) – covering musicals such as “Grease” (6-10 February) and classics including “Hamlet” (23 January) and “Julius Caesar” – will also extend to the Museo del Vino and MIMMA (Museo Interactivo de la Música de Málaga).
