While we have all the trappings of a school, it is not primarily what we do. We are an institution of faith formation that uses excellent academics, arts, athletics, and extracurriculars as a means to guide students towards a relationship with Christ and a final resting place in heaven. Everything else we do is a means towards that one end. We have a mission that goes beyond the earthly and extends into the eternal.
Thank you for considering our position as we forge Holy Family’s bright future, ushering this great school into its next 100-year chapter.
God Bless, Mary Vulcani Interim

“We’ve been at many other schools, and they don’t compare to Holy Family. The amazing staff, teachers, and coaches genuinely care about our kids. We absolutely love this school and intend to send all of our children here.
Holy Family is dedicated to building character in the lives of young people and encourages them to explore the history of their faith.”
Jessica and Caleb Stoll, pictured with daughters Adiah and Emmy.
Catholic Faith
“ We chose Holy Family because it stresses academic excellence, incorporates Catholic values, nurtures the whole person, promotes respect, and encourages self-growth. Holy Family’s community, culture, and teachers help students feel known and valued.”
Ann Marie & Bob White, pictured with daughter Erin.
The Our Lady Queen of Angels Chapel is the heart of the school. Students have the opportunity to participate in daily Mass, adoration, stations of the cross, and the sacrament of reconciliation. School-wide Masses are celebrated monthly.
All students must take eight semesters of theology and fulfill the graduation requirement of community service through the Apostolic Ministry program.
Students also participate in yearly retreats, designed to detach them from everyday distractions, offer time to encounter God, reflect on His Love and plan for their lives.
Ut Fidem, meaning “Keep the Faith,” is a Campus Ministry program which supports students through weekly small group meetings led by adult faith mentors. Students learn how to defend their Catholic faith and develop deep, personal relationships with Jesus.
Our full-time chaplain is available to all students for faith direction.
History
Ground was broken on the present site of Holy Family on March 8, 1998. Approximately 52 acres were given by Archbishop Stafford for the purpose of building a new high school in the Northwest area of Denver. The school building was finished in the fall of 1999 and Holy Family moved in.
Reverend Cornelius O’Farrell, pastor of Holy Family parish from 1919 to 1923 began building a school on the south side of the church located at the southeast corner of west 44th Avenue and Utica Street in north Denver. A grade school was opened September 1920 by five Sisters of Loretto. The basement auditorium of this fast-growing school was partitioned in 1922 to create a ninth-grade classroom. Thirty students enrolled, inaugurating what has become Holy Family High School.
After decades of adding classrooms here and there, Holy Family constructed a modern high school across the street from the original school in 1958. In 1999, Holy Family was formally incorporated and to facilitate a much-needed expansion, the decision was made to move Holy Family High School from north Denver to our new home in Broomfield.
The original building had 22 classrooms, four science laboratories, a multimedia library, a computer lab, a cafeteria, a commons area, a chapel, a gymnasium, a fitness room, a theater, a music room, and a courtyard.
Holy Family completed construction of various additions to the original building in 2019 including six new classrooms, an auxiliary gymnasium, a new fitness center, an expanded Chapel, expanded locker rooms, an expanded training room, expanded college and school counseling department offices, a new kitchen and cafeteria area, added restrooms, and a new nurse station. The addition also allowed Holy Family to repurpose existing space into additional rooms in the music and performing arts department.
Holy Family High School graduated the first class of ten young men and women in 1926. Since that time, over 6,000 students have passed through our halls and contributed to the great tradition of our school community.
