SCHOOL Holy Child is part of the the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and one of 30 educational institutions worldwide. Cornelia Connelly founded the Society in 1846. SELECTIVE ADMISSION Holy Child selects its students on a competitive basis. The selection is based on previous academic performance, standardized test scores, teacher recommendations, the interview process and the potential to succeed in a college preparatory environment. We are seeking well-rounded students who want to challenge themselves academically and be an active participant in the Holy Child community. COMMUNITY SERVICE In keeping with our Actions not Words motto, our students engage in community service as a mandatory and voluntary part of student life. Last year, more than 5,000 hours were recorded. SELECTION TO HONORS AND AP COURSES Students must receive an invitation from the department offering the course based on past performance, test scores, and teacher recommendations. ACCELERATED STANDING In the Middle School, students who excel are able to advanced courses. In the Upper School, students who have taken Algebra 1 or the first year of a language in the eighth grade and who show proficiency through our placement test may be placed on an accelerated track in these courses starting freshman year.
