Congratulations on being crowned Miss Europe Switzerland! How does it feel to be recognized as one of the most beautiful women in the world? Can you share what this achievement means to you?
Thank you so much! Being crowned Miss Europe Switzerland is an incredible honor. It represents not only a personal achievement but also the opportunity to represent Switzerland and its values on international stage. I’m committed to promoting the beauty of Switzerland and
inspiring others through its rich culture and enduring spirit.
You’ve walked the world’s most iconic runways and appeared on the most prestigious red carpets. But beyond the glamour, you’ve become a passionate advocate for sustainability. Tell us—who are you beyond the crown?
I’ve always believed that beauty can be a bridge to something greater. Being crowned Miss Europe Switzerland and having the privilege of modeling in
fashion capitals like New York, Paris, Milan, and London has been an incredible experience. But beyond the camera flashes and couture gowns, I’ve always carried a deeper purpose: to be a catalyst for change in an industry long overdue for transformation. With the heart of a humanitarian and the eye of an artist, my mission then and now is to infuse everything I do with soul, intention, and meaningful substance.
You’ve been a vocal advocate for sustainability. What inspired you to
champion eco-conscious fashion?
The fashion industry has a significant environmental impact, and I felt compelled to use my art to promote change. Queenissima was born out of a desire to challenge fast fashion and encourage sustainable practices. By upcycling materials and eco-conscious fabrics, we aim to create fashion that doesn’t cost the earth.
The fashion industry is one of the most polluting on the planet. Why did this issue resonate so deeply with you?
Every single day, over 92 million tons of textile waste are thrown away globally. The production of fabrics—especially cotton and polyester—consumes enormous amounts of water, energy, and toxic chemicals. In fact, the fashion industry is responsible for up to 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. But the damage doesn’t stop there, synthetic fabrics shed microplastics into our oceans, and forests are destroyed to make materials like viscose and rayon. This harms wildlife, disrupts ecosystems, and pushes the planet further toward crisis. Through my sustainable fashion art, I hope to stand against this destruction and spark change.
That vision has come to life through
sustainable fashion art you create? Can you share how this all began?
My sustainable fashion art represents my dedication to combining creative expression with environmental responsibility. It’s where discarded fabrics are transformed into one-ofa-kind masterpieces fueled by soul. Every creation tells a story of renewal, strength, and purpose. It’s a fashion art that redefines elegance through ethical choices and a deep respect for the planet.
The word Queenissima doesn’t exist in any dictionary. I first coined it over 13 years ago in London, it was my modeling alias and evolved into a signature that adorned global billboards and media. But it was never meant to be just a label. To me, Queenissima is a message. A declaration. A reminder that every woman deserves to feel unique, radiant, confident, and deeply respected. To me, it represents the most powerful, conscious version of a queen — one who leads with elegance,
feminine strength in most ethical conscious
celebration of who you are, and who you can become.
Your designs speak through more than fabric. There’s storytelling, poetry, and slogans. Tell us about that creative element.
Yes, it’s one of my greatest passions. I love crafting slogans that uplift, inspire connection, and celebrate individuality. In a world where many struggle to express their true selves, I aim to create powerful messages that speak directly from the soul.
In your view, what defines true luxury today?
True luxury today is sustainability. It’s not about excess or ego, it’s about meaning, artistry, and reverence for the Earth. Queenissima is my love letter to the Earth and to the creative spirit. It’s about reshaping not just what we wear, but what we value.
Your initiative has garnered attention. Can you elaborate on its mission and goals?
The mission is to raise awareness about the environmental challenges posed by the fashion industry and to inspire consumers to make mindful choices. Through sustainable designs, I aim to set a new standard for beauty and responsibility in fashion.
What message would you like to convey to young women aspiring to make a difference?
Believe in your power to effect change. Your voice matters, and your actions can inspire others. Stay true to your values, seek out opportunities to learn and grow, and never underestimate the impact you can have on the world around you.
What has been the most meaningful or impactful part of support during Miss Europe journey?
The most meaningful aspect of support throughout my Miss Europe journey has been the unwavering commitment and passion shown by each member of my incredible team. I feel truly blessed to have such a talented and supportive group by my side, and I’m deeply grateful for all the effort they’ve put into helping me pursue this dream. I am immensely thankful for my amazing team who have been with me every step of the way. A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of
them: Guzal @guzaljon, Reto Turotti @ reto.turotti, Sabina Alieva Markovic @sabonya82, @sa_bridalstyle, Svitlana Zakrenychna @nailsandgo. zh, @xvsvetlana, Victoria Zinevych @dr.zinevych, Sunclinik, Zurich, Top PR Agency @toppragency, Liliya Muratova @liliya_fox_ nails, and many others. I truly appreciate their dedication and support.
Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for the future?
My vision is to expand Queenissima and champion sustainable fashion on a global scale. I’m passionate about creating an ethical, environmentally conscious fashion art- one that celebrates beauty while honoring the well-being of our planet. Protecting our oceans, forests, and natural ecosystems isn’t optional; it’s essential for our shared future. I aim to raise awareness and support initiatives focused on sustainability, environmental conservation, and the responsible stewardship of Earth’s precious resources. Additionally, I’m deeply committed to humanitarian causes, particularly those impacting women and children. I believe beauty must always be paired with compassion and purpose—creating meaningful change where it’s needed most.
Tom Bimmermann’s Journey from Luxembourg Prodigy to Hollywood Maestro
At just 13 years old, Tom Bimmermann composed his first symphony— an extraordinary milestone that foreshadowed a career dedicated to emotional depth and orchestral brilliance. While most classical composers follow the traditional path of conservatories and concert halls, Bimmermann chose a different stage: Hollywood.
Born in Esch-Alzette, Luxembourg,
Tom’s prodigious talent emerged early. At seven, he joined a youth choral group and enrolled in the Music Conservatory of Esch-Alzette. Within three months of solfeggio training—a technique-based study of pitch using syllables—he began composing original works for piano and small ensembles. By 11, Tom Bimmmann’s talent to prematurely compose was discovered by Maestro Pierre Cao, who at the time
Mr. Mimmermann has demonstrated remarkable creative depth and versitality in his compositional work. “
was the conductor of the RTL symphony orchestra, who sent him to harmony lessons in the class of Prof Roland Wiltgen after showing remarkable aptitude.
Tom’s rapid progression continued. At 13, he wrote his Symphony No. 1 in E-flat Major, Op. 9, following four piano sonatas. That same year, he was honored with the “Best Composition” award in a youth competition in Brussels, where he also addressed the European Parliament. A year later, he composed a minuet for a royal audience, and was commissioned to write an overture for the 25th anniversary of the Esch-Alzette Theater, performed by RTL Symphony under Maestro Cao’s baton.
Even in his high school years, Tom’s compositions were featured in annual concerts. His teenage masterwork, Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 17, was completed before graduating with A-Level credentials in 1990.
From 1990 to 1993, Tom studied at the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, where he earned top diplomas in harmony with Prof Alain Bernaud, counterpoint with Prof Jean- Paul Holstein, and fugue with Prof Michel Merlet. During this time, EU Deputy Viviane Reding commissioned
him to write Luxemburg in Europe, an orchestral overture commemorating the Maastricht Treaty and the birth of the European Union’s single market.
Tom continued his classical training at Austria’s Mozarteum in Salzburg from 1993 to 1996 then at the University of Music in Graz from 1997 to 1999, where he studied with Canadian-born conductor Raffi Armenian. He conducted his Symphony No. 2 with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Maribor (Slovenia) and participated in elite academies like the Wiener Meisterkurse and AIDIMOS in France.
Yet it was a conversation with orchestration mentor Klemens Gadenstätter that changed everything. Recognizing Tom’s stylistic versatility and cinematic sensibility, Gadenstätter encouraged him to pursue film scoring at UCLA’s renowned program. Rejecting the traditional opera route, Tom relocated to
Los Angeles in 2000, where he gratuated from the film scoring program in 2001 and from the music business program in 2003 and quickly found his place in the industry.
His first film score, June Cabin (dir. Ross Otterman), featured a 27-piece orchestra and showcased his haunting, classically-influenced style. He soon followed with projects including the noir crime drama Verso and the animated short Dox E. Dog.
What sets Bimmermann apart is his deep classical foundation—his ability to translate emotion into layered, evocative musical themes. He doesn’t compose “by ear” or rely on synthetic sound design; his approach is rooted in traditional orchestration, melody, and structure.
His concert works continue to expand. Recently recorded on the album Symphonic Muse: The Works of
Tom Bimmermann, he showcases his Symphony No. 2, Symphony No. 3, and Divertimento No. 1. His most recent compositions include:
Ouverture Hollywood in C Major, Op. 47
Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 42
Piano Sonata No. 7 in E-flat Major, Op. 40
Day Dreamings for Plectre Orchestra, Op. 37
String Quartet No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 38
String Quartet No. 4 in A Major, Op. 39
Dividing his time between Los Angeles and Luxembourg, Tom Bimmermann is a bridge between classical tradition and cinematic storytelling. His path is not just one of precision but one of passion, reinvention, and timeless artistry.
Hollywood Monthly Magazine sat down with internationally renowned composer Tom Bimmermann to discuss the journey from classical prodigy to cinematic storyteller, the state of music in modern film, and his belief in the emotional and philosophical power of orchestration.
Tom, you began composing symphonies as a teenager, but you’ve evolved far beyond traditional classical paths. What led you to bring your classical background into the world of film scoring?
It’s funny,I started in a very structured, European classical system. Harmony, counterpoint, fugue... everything had to be perfect. But deep down, I wasn’t satisfied just playing by the rules. I saw something more expressive in cinema — a place where emotion guides structure, not the other way around.
When I came to UCLA to study
film scoring, I realized: film music could be the next evolution of the symphony. You’re not just writing notes; you’re scoring for characters, tension, silence, landscapes, heartbreaks. It felt like Beethoven composing for a dream he couldn’t see — but I could.
How do you see the state of film music today, compared to say, 50 years ago?
What’s missing now — what we had in the ‘60s and ‘70s — was depth. Shows like Columbo, The Avengers, or even early Spielberg had music that added layers. It wasn’t just background. It was
narrative.
Today, much of what we hear is more like sound design. It’s reactive, not expressive. There’s a formula now — the “bleach and bass” approach — where it’s all atmosphere and no melody. And that’s fine for action flicks, but I believe audiences are starving for music that stirs something deeper. We’ve lost the art of building a theme, letting it breathe across scenes, across seasons even.
That’s a bold perspective. Is there a way back?
There is, and it starts with
composers who aren’t afraid to compose. Real composition — not just sound packs. Not just software. I still walk my dog with a notebook in my pocket. One idea, one motif, it can change everything. That’s how Symphony No. 2 came — just walking, imagining a second movement while looking at clouds.
If you want to connect with audiences again, the music has to be alive — not just engineered. That’s how we bring people back to the theater. Not just explosions. Emotion.
Who do you think does that well today?
John Williams, of course. He understood that Indiana Jones and E.T. were not just action or sci-fi — they were personal. His themes carried the heart of the characters.
I admire composers who still treat film scoring like storytelling: Alexandre Desplat, Nicholas Britell, and some of the new wave — they respect the orchestra. They know
you can’t replace a 50-piece string section with a plugin.
Do you see a future where classical music and film music merge more?
I think they must. There’s a huge opportunity now, especially with younger audiences who are just discovering classical through video games or anime or even TikTok. They’re not bound by genre.
But the key is to give them emotion not just complexity. Pop music, even Britney Spears in the late ‘90s, had structure. That was my guilty pleasure! Underneath it, there were real harmonies. Sometimes pop and classical aren’t so far apart.
What would your dream project be right now?
A detective drama with long arcs, deep characters, mystery and emotion. Something like The Queen’s Gambit but with the DNA
of a ‘70s noir. Rich orchestration, evolving motifs, emotional silences. And yes, maybe throw in a little Beethoven.
But really, anything that lets music be a character again — not just wallpaper.
Final thoughts? What should young composers or fans of your music take away from your journey?
Find your voice, and protect it. Train. Study the masters. But also let your instincts speak. The best melodies aren’t always born in front of a piano. Sometimes they come in the quiet, walking alone, thinking about a scene that hasn’t even been written yet.
That’s what makes music matter. When it’s not just heard… but felt.

The mission struck a chord with Kimball, who shared. “Music has this incredible ability to heal. It transforms people.” Today, she collaborates with the organization to bring celebrity artists into programs as special guests, where they create music with participants, lifting their spirits and helping them find their voice again. Veterans benefit from the program and find solace through the organization’s Wounded Warriors initiative.
Kimball’s passion for helping others extends to other noteworthy causes that she champions, such as Beauty Gives Back. When women experiencing homelessness come to the organization, they’re given support services, including professional clothing for job interviews, to provide assistance to rebuild their lives. “They’re given dignity and hope. Written in the aftermath of her father’s tragic death as a result of police brutality, the novel is both a personal catharsis about her experience as a child and how it changed her life. When asked about the significance of the novel, Jestina shared: “The story is deeply personal,” Jestina explains. “But it’s also universal. It’s about the pain and resilience of those who face injustice in various aspects of society and how to transform it into positive action. “
The novel takes the reader into the topic of social injustice, using the lens of storytelling to examine the societal structures that can sustain inequality with respect to human rights. Within its content, the novel questions the social infrastructure of society and its effect on marginalized communities and all communities. For Jestina, this work is more than a creative endeavor--it’s a revolutionary statement inviting readers to explore the status of economics, race, power, and positive action for change. Through her literary messaging, it is understood that“The End” is not the end... it is the beginning.
Jestina’s mission to drive the narrative toward human rights for social justice continues with “Jes Trying to Make It”, an emotionally charged docuseries that chronicles her life’s battles and triumphs. The series offers an unfiltered glimpse into her fight for justice while navigating love, betrayal, loss, and redemption. It addresses contemporary
social issues such as mental health, addiction, abuse, and the devastating impact of incarceration. The docuseries takes viewers through Jestina’s journey of resilience, including her confrontation with a life sentence in prison and her transformation into a voice for systemic reform. Through its raw, intimate storytelling, “Jes Trying to Make It” serves as a sobering reflection on societal challenges and an inspiring testament to the power of perseverance.
In addition to her literary and visual works, Jestina recorded a new album featuring 11 tracks that echo the themes of her novel and docuseries. Her music invites listeners on a reflective journey of unity and self-discovery, with each song adding a layer to Jestina’s story of resilience. The album’s lead single, “Unity”, lyrically explores the story of the loss of loved ones to violence and a call to action for positive change starting in communities. Jestina’s music weaves together personal narrative and social commentary, creating a soundtrack to her life that challenges listeners to reflect on the world around them and within them. Her commitment to advocacy through art positions Jestina as a creative force for transformation.
By blending personal experiences with modern social issues, she is proving that storytelling can both challenge the status quo and inspire hope. Through her work, Jestina is not just telling her story--she’s lighting the way for a more equitable and just world through the arts.
I grew up watching Indian musical films during the 70s/80s. In fact, I can still remember the lyrics to all the songs in “Yeh Vaada Raha” and I know the names of most of the famous Bollywood stars from back then to the 90s and beyond.
My love for Bollywood never waned and when I attained adulthood, I owned an entertainment blog, E4PR, where I dedicated a section to write about Bollywood film stars and cross-over Indian music and movie stars into the American and British Entertainment Industries.
It therefore came as no surprise when I was called upon to interview the lovely Maithili Raelle, an Indo-American talent in New York City.
Maithili is one of the very few cross-over Indo-US female artistes in New York and is working with a very talented team. She has collaborated with Epic, RCA and Republic record labels, respectively, as well as 41 rap group, the biggest rap group in the Metro NYC area right now.
My description of Maithili’s distinctive voice would be... a sweet blend of Norah Jones and Ciara, with a touch of Doja Cat; while she exudes an Eve kind of attitude. I listened to all her songs on Spotify and watched “Heavy On It”, “I Grow” and “Falling For You” on YouTube. Maithili’s undeniable music talents are glaringly obvious, as all her songs showcase her versatility.
The focal point of Maithili’s multiple talents, for me, are her singing and rapping skills, which are beautifully fluid, adding grace to her music. I particularly loved the Indian belly dance beats in “Heavy On It”. They reminded me of the 2013 song, Addictive, by Truth Hurts ft Rakim, Dr Dre and Pharrell, which had similar beats.
The world is now witnessing cross-over Indian rap and hip hop music talent finally being acknowledged and appreciated in the American Entertainment Industry. From not being visible during the whole American rap revolution to now successfully dominating the American scene.
It may have taken a while, but cross-over Indian music talent is finally getting the
recognition it deserves. They are finally at a stage where they can fund, market and show the world their art and culture.
On a separate note, I would like to suggest an Afrobeats collaboration for Maithili with superstars like D’Banj, Burna Boy or Rema; This would add more spice and worldwide appeal to Maithili’s brand. Burna Boy and Indian singer and rapper, Sidhu Moose Wala (of blessed memory), have already blazed a trail for others, with their collaborative hit song, “Mera Na”. I would love to see Maithili explore this option as well. It may be new terrain for her, but it will be worth her while.

Finally, see (below) excerpts of questions from my interview with Ms Raelle and her answers:
1). Where are you from and how does that affect or influence your work?
Maithili: I’m from New Jersey and I’ve pretty much just grown up here my entire life. Now, I go back and forth between NJ and New York City, since I go to college there. Being from the tri-state area really has broadened my overall general perspective on life. You come across many people from different walks of life with diverse ethnic backgrounds. There’s a heavy emphasis on having to hustle in order to achieve success for yourself, and this, in turn, has strongly encouraged me to work hard towards achieving my dreams. Meeting so many types of people has exposed me to different genres of music and how you can intertwine them with one another. As an artist, this can be seen reflected in my music. If you take a look at each song, it’s not boxed into one style. I’m constantly pulling inspiration from all types of music.
2). Who are your biggest artistic influences?
Maithili: My biggest influences are Whitney Houston, Ariana Grande and Tate McRae.
3). Tell me about your favorite medium.
Maithili: When it comes to being a singer, my favorite medium has to be live performances. I love tapping into that other part of me that people don’t see on a daily basis, this other character. The entire process of the transformation starts with makeup, hair and then, the outfit. There’s always that bit of anxiousness that kicks in before the performance, but that’s because I want itto be amazing and care about giving it my all. As soon as that music starts, it’s like I go on autopilot. Just being out on the stage everytime feels so surreal. After each performance, I feel like I’m on an energy high. It’s the best feeling in the world, seeing all the time and effort you took to work on your craft or a specific project materialize into a great end product. Along with live performances, though I love the process of getting ready for a music video, whatever it may require. The day of the music video shoot does get a little stressful, but I genuinely have so much fun putting everything together and performing in this different aspect. It’s such a thrill to see everybody’s reactions, whether it’s people from my team who’ve seen me working on it or even just my parents and friends at my shoot.
4). Where do you find inspiration?
Maithili: I find inspiration from my own personal experiences, other artists that I both listen to or look up to, as well as other types of art like movies and books.
5). When is your favorite time of day to create?
Maithili: Honestly, I don’t really have a favorite time to create. I love to create at all times. It’s kind of when I’m able to fit the time in because I’m a full-time student at NYU as well. I will say though, I definitely am more productive when I have earlier late morning/afternoon sessions.
6). What motivates you to create?
Maithili: What motivates me to create is my love for music. I live and breathe music everyday. Whether I’m actively creating music or not, I’m constantly surrounded by it. It’s like an open book for me with blank pages, waiting for the story to be written. It might be a story that’s already been written, reflecting my personal experiences, or it might be a narrative waiting to be written and told as a story. The same way in which other artists have created songs that have resonated with me is the same thing I aim to do as well for others in my own artistic way. I want to create songs for others to help them feel relatable or comforted knowing that someone else like myself has also gone through it.
7). How do you define success as an artiste?
Maithili: I define success as an artist in multiple ways. I think one of the most important ones is being able to constantly push the boundaries of your own ability. Not being a one trick pony. Trying new things musically, whether tapping into different vocal techniques or sounds. Always being creative and keeping an open mind to the process. Along with that would be having the ability to emotionally connect with your audience. I think the ultimate test is if you can make the audience feel the song as if they went through it and that you’ve provided them an escapism from their life for the 90 mins or however long they’ve come to see you.
8). How do you develop your art skills?
Maithili: I develop my skills by constantly creating more music. The only way to grow is to practice and learn. You’ll either find me in the recording studio working on music, dance practice, vocal lessons or in school. Ever since taking up this journey, there’s been nothing more important to me than working on my craft to become the best I possibly can.
9). Does art help you in other areas of your life?
Maithili: Music definitely helps me in other areas of my life. As much as it’s an escapism for listeners, it’s an escapism for me as an artist too. It helps me a lot emotionally. Music can really change my
mood and I really lean on it for support. Whether it’s getting that confidence or helping me relax or even just getting me through that little breakdown.
10). How can your work affect societal issues?
Maithili: My music can affect societal issues by bringing awareness and telling stories from different perspectives. Around a year ago, I released a song called “Unstoppable” in collaboration with the Be the Voice anti bullying campaign. This was a special song to me when creating it and I’m very proud to have been invited down to Selma, Alabama, to perform Unstoppable as part of the musical act of an anti-bullying assembly.
11). How do you navigate the professional art industry?
Maithili: It can definitely be challenging and confusing, but I’m very grateful to have an extremely talented and supportive team behind me, as well as very supportive parents. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of these amazing people. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child.
12). Which art trends inspire your current work?
Maithili: Currently, genre-fusion and vocal experimentation is a huge thing that’s been inspiring my music. I don’t want to be confined to one lane. I want to create something new and surprising that the world hasn’t seen and can get excited about.
13). How has your style changed over time?
Maithili: My style has evolved and grown from putting out my first release, Falling For You. It’s really interesting because from the whole production and
recordings and different delivery methods and tones I bring out, to the visuals of the music videos, has changed in retrospect, to where I am as a person and who I’m growing into. The different themes and genres I’ve touched upon were much more specific, like pop and r&b or if I sang in a specific part of my vocal
register and was exploring different vocal techniques. Now fast forwarding to my latest song, Heavy On It, I’ve begun to experiment more and really taken myself out of my comfort zone. I never really thought I would throw rap into a song. It wasn’t the first thing on my mind, but at the end of the day, why not? Why not try new things and push the boundaries? With Heavy On It, it’s a completely different song, as it brings out aspects of my cultural identity of being Indian into my music, and is supported by the visuals for the very first time in my music. Something I want to lean more into and experiment with.
14). What are your favorite and least favorite parts of professional art?
Maithili: There’s definitely highs and lows to doing music professionally, but no matter, what I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I am beyond grateful for being given the opportunity to pursue it. One of my favorite things is the rush of excitement you get from performing live or after the end of a music video shoot that I’ve been working so hard to prepare for, or seeing others love your own creation as much as you do. It’s the most rewarding and fulfilling thing as an artist. I love being able to meet new people and other artists in the industry and learning their backstory and getting to know them. It’s such a wonderful experience to see others like yourself doing it as well. It can be very inspirational for your own music and could lead to collaborating on projects together. I think some of my least favorite parts are that no matter what, people will always have an opinion about you as a person or what you’re doing. Honestly, though, I’ve grown to not be bothered at all by it and to just keep focusing on making music and on my craft, because that’s what makes me happy. Another big thing that’s my least favorite part of pursuing professional music, is the uncertainty. There is no
timeline for the trajectory of your career, because everyone’s path is different. That really stresses me out sometimes because I’m in college too. It would just be really nice to know where my life is heading lol.
15). Do you have a network of other artistes, and if so, how do they support you?
Maithili: I don’t have a network of other artists, but I support all artists. Being a creative isn’t always easy.
16). Is there a specific environment or material that’s integral to your work?
Maithili: As an artist, I definitely love to be in collaborative spaces. Whether its acoustic spaces for working on vocals, the recording studio as a fun creative playground, or rehearsal spaces with mirrors, when doing dance lessons. Material wise, it’s very very important to be hydrated and have water or a drink with electrolytes; and quick snacks like pineapple and green apples are a go to, especially in the studio.
17). Who would you most like to create with?
Maithili: I would love to work with Tate Mcrae the most. Ever since I saw her in concert recently, I’ve been more obsessed with her as an artist and truly look up to her as one of my inspirations. She has a certain type of raw, relatable style of lyric writing. I think it’d be super cool to hear the contrast between our voices dancing together in a song.
18). If you could open a show for any artiste, who would that be?
Maithili: Definitely Ariana Grande. I’ve always looked up to her and it would be an absolute dream of mine.
