This month, we celebrate reinvention—on stage, in business, and on the runway. Our spotlight lands on three vibrant forces reshaping the world around them through storytelling, innovation, and fearless creativity.
We begin with the incomparable Robin Phillips—actress, opera narrator, playwright, and award-winning filmmaker. With an astonishing 196 Best Awards to her name, Phillips blurs the lines between cinema and stage, intellect and artistry. Her work is transformative, whether she’s narrating Puccini at La Maison Française or unraveling the Shakespeare authorship mystery in her riveting documentary SHAKESPEARE: The Truth Behind the Name. Phillips is elegance in motion—proving that true power lies in relentless curiosity and reinvention.
Next, we head to the sun-soaked coast of Laguna Beach, where Sonja Corich, founder of Corich Luxury Furniture, is crafting a new legacy. Inspired by a single moment with her sons, Sonja transformed a spark of creativity into a patented luxury furniture line that blends functionality with artistry. With heartfelt wisdom and an unshakable vision, she reminds us that passion—not profit—is the truest measure of success.
And across the globe, Helsinki becomes the beating heart of fashion’s future. Fashion in Helsinki 2025 (May 21–24) returns with boundarypushing runway shows, installations, and exhibitions that merge style with social commentary. From the bold storytelling of Latimmier to the joyful, detail-rich designs of TuuliTytti Koivula, this event proves that in Finland, fashion is more than clothing— it’s cultural expression.
Thank you, readers, for once again supporting Hollywood Weekly Magazine. We are nothing without you.

Most people don’t think about swimwear until the first heatwave hits—unless, of course, they’re planning a wedding. A sunsoaked bachelorette weekend in Tulum? A dreamy honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast? If you’ve got wedding festivities on the horizon, chances are you’re already searching for the perfect bridal swimsuit that’s chic, flattering, and totally bride-worthy.
But let’s be honest: finding a white swimsuit that ticks all the boxes is no easy feat. Stark whites often feel harsh, and seethrough fabrics? Definitely not on the mood board. At Marina Marina, we’ve reimagined what a bridal swimsuit can be—timeless, elegant, and thoughtfully crafted with you in mind.
Meet Chantilly: The Perfect Shade of Off-White
This is the swimsuit shade you didn’t know you needed—until now. Our exclusive Chantilly hue is a soft, romantic off-white that flatters every skin tone with ease. It’s bridal without being blinding, and luxurious without being loud. The secret? A custom-milled tone that brings warmth and depth to a classic neutral, evoking sophistication and grace in every sunbeam.
Paired with our signature double-lined fabric and carefully curated silhouettes, Chantilly doesn’t just look stunning—it feels exquisite. Each piece is tailored with exceptional fit in mind, offered in inclusive sizing from XS to 2XL, because every bride deserves to feel beautiful and confident on her journey to “I do.”
Designed by Brides, For Brides
We created Marina Marina because we were frustrated by the lack of elevated, flattering, and long-lasting white swimwear on the market. As bridal professionals, we understand what it takes to make a bride feel special—and we know the little details matter. From perfecting the cut to choosing the right lining that offers coverage without compromising style, every aspect of our swimwear is rooted in real bridal needs.
Our designs transition effortlessly from bachelorette brunches to spa days to poolside champagne toasts, and yes—they’re made to last well beyond your honeymoon. Think timeless investment pieces, not one-time wear.
This season is all about you—your glow, your love story, your unforgettable celebrations. And what better way to step into the sun than in a swimsuit that says, unmistakably, I’m the bride?
Whether your style leans modern and minimal or soft and romantic, our collection offers looks that celebrate your individuality, your beauty, and your big moment. With Marina Marina, you’re not just buying a swimsuit—you’re stepping into your spotlight.
Demi Moore, dazzling in a custom-designed Alexander McQueen masterpiece, graces the 2025 BAFTAs red carpet in a breathtaking display of elegance and style.
Nominated for Best Leading Actress for her captivating performance in The Substance, she commands the spotlight with a gown that expertly combines bold sophistication with delicate artistry, its intricate details shimmering under the spotlight.
With a confident, radiant poise, Demi steals the show, embodying the very essence of Hollywood glamour.
The 78th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) lit up London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, February 16, 2025, bringing together cinema’s finest for a night of glamour, talent, and celebration. Considered the British equivalent of the Oscars, the evening was a stunning showcase of star power, emotion, and memorable moments that will be talked about for years to come.
For the second consecutive year, the ever-charismatic David Tennant took the reins as host, bringing his signature wit and charm to the stage. Tennant kicked off the evening in an unexpected yet highly entertaining way, performing a modified karaoke version of I’m Gonna Be by The Proclaimers. The fun moment became even more memorable as several BAFTA stars joined him in song, creating an impromptu ensemble performance that set a playful tone for the night.
The light-hearted opening was just the beginning, as Tennant kept the audience laughing throughout the evening with his quick humor and cheeky jabs. One of the standout moments came when he made a playful dig at President Donald Trump, referring to him as “Beetlejuice” after repeating the president’s name three times, a reference that had the audience in fits of laughter. Tennant’s blend of humor and irreverence ensured that the evening was filled with both entertainment and lighthearted banter.
This year’s BAFTA red carpet was dominated by chic monochrome looks, with black clothing reigning supreme as the fashion statement of the evening. From elegant gowns to tailored tuxe-
dos, stars embraced timeless sophistication, creating a visually stunning display of classic glamour. Sleek black ensembles, often paired with striking accessories, exuded refinement and elegance, setting the tone for the night.
However, the red carpet wasn’t all about black—pastels and sparkles added refreshing pops of color and shimmer. Soft pastel hues offered a light contrast to the dominant black, bringing a touch of freshness to the evening. Meanwhile, metallics and sequins dazzled under the spotlight, with stars opting for gowns and suits that glistened with every movement. This combination of monochrome and vibrant accents showcased the diversity of personal style, creating a dynamic, fashion-forward atmosphere that perfectly matched the glamour of the BAFTAs.
The night was also filled with romance, as celebrity couples turned heads. Sebastian Stan shared the spotlight with his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallace, while Adrian Brody looked dashing alongside his partner, Georgina Chapman. Jeff Goldblum made a sweet appearance with wife Emily Livingston, adding an extra layer of charm to the already magical atmosphere. The royal touch came courtesy of Prince William, who appeared via a heartfelt video message, bringing a touch of regal class to the night.
The evening also saw some unforgettable moments of recognition. David Johnson’s win for Rising Star—an award voted on by the public—was met with cheers and applause, signaling a bright future for the young actor. Zoe Saldana’s emotional acceptance of Best Supporting Actress was a powerful moment, as she expressed gratitude for the role that changed her career, leaving the crowd in awe of her heartfelt speech.
In a surprising twist, Mikey Madison took home the award for Best Actress, despite Demi Moore being considered the frontrunner for weeks leading up to the ceremony. Madison’s win was a well-deserved testament to her incredible performance and marked a key moment in her career.
The evening’s biggest honor, Best British Film, went to Conclave, a gripping drama that captivated both critics and audiences alike, taking home the night’s most coveted prize.
The 2025 BAFTA Awards proved to be a night of celebration, recognition, and unforgettable moments. With its stunning fashion, heartfelt speeches, and some delightful surprises, the evening solidified its place as one of the most prestigious and anticipated events in the film industry. As the stars continue to shine, the 78th BAFTA Awards will be remembered as a night where talent and glamour met in perfect harmony.

In the serene coastal town of Laguna Beach, California, Sonja Corich recalled a moment when she sat in her beautiful living room—every piece reflecting her journey, each detail a testament to her newfound purpose. But it wasn’t always this way. Sonja’s path to founding Corich Luxury Furniture began in a moment of quiet revelation, sparked by the love, encouragement, and wisdom of her sons.
After raising her sons, Sonja found herself at a crossroads, a familiar place for many mothers. Her eldest son returned home one day, noticing something missing. “Mom, we don’t have a coffee table,” he said. It was more than just furniture; it was a symbol of her dreams waiting to unfold. Her sons had always admired her creative flair. “Mom, it’s your time now,” they encouraged, giving her the push she needed. Inspired by their unwavering belief in her, Sonja relocated from Northwest Indiana to Laguna Beach, enrolling in university classes focused on design and entrepreneurship.
Sonja quickly discovered that the ideas flowing from her had been brewing inside for years. Having learned the intricacies of corporate America from years working alongside her husband, she felt confident enough to pursue a patent. Her hunch proved right. Through perseverance and vision, Sonja received notice of her provisional patent. Driven by focus and determination, she soon received her first utility patents crowned by a gold certificate giving her validation that she was on her way to success.
In moments of reflection, Sonja felt moments of gratitude and shared from her heart that success isn’t measured by money alone—it’s about passion. “Whatever you do, make sure you’re passionate about it,” she frequently tells her sons. This wisdom is the foundation of her journey, echoing deeply in her life as a single mother who found strength in raising her children and guiding them toward their passions. Her approach to parenting has always been clear: “We are advisors, advocates; we provide them with formulas that work.”
Born in Yugoslavia, Sonja’s early life was extraordinary. Her parents, a magnetic couple passionately in love, decided to give their daughter a chance at a better life in
the United States. For her first three and a half years, Sonja was raised in a convent, cared for by nuns. This miraculous start instilled in her a lifetime of questioning her purpose—a journey that would eventually lead her here, breaking barriers in the luxury furniture market, which has long remained stagnant.
Sonja’s vision for Corich Luxury Furniture is transformative, introducing first-to-market designs that blend beauty, functionality, and innovation. It mirrors the unique creativity she showcased even as a young girl—while others wore simple ponytails, Sonja stood out with beautiful, elaborate braids and twists. Now, that distinctive creativity is what truly defines her concepts for her designer furniture, capturing attention and changing perceptions.
In addition to her achievements as a successful entrepreneur, Sonja remains grounded, guided by faith, perseverance, and making wise choices. Her home echoes her life philosophy: “Things can break, plates or crystals, but what’s irreplaceable is our relationships, especially with our children,” she says gently, a lesson she instilled deeply in her sons.
Beyond her business success, Sonja is dedicated to mentorship. She became a beacon of light providing loving care for her aunt Mary. Her journey illuminates the power of resilience, faith, while discovering her inner light along the way.Through her gifts and compassion for humanity, Sonja continues to thrive in her journey with the effect of inspiring others around her to dare to dream just as she does.
In a world where success often feels defined by material gain, Sonja Corich reminds us that true fulfillment comes from embracing passion, nurturing family bonds, and courageously sharing our unique gifts with the world.
Sonja’s designs are first-to-market creations in the high-end luxury furniture and art sector, protected by two utility patents. At Corich Luxury Furniture, she believes that “Each piece is thoughtfully designed to be multifunctional, handcrafted, and one-of-a-kind, seamlessly blending artistry with utility.” Her philosophy is that “Luxury furniture is not just furniture; it’s an experience.”
Inspired by Gwen Stefani’s song “Purple Irises,” this console table embodies the song’s essence through its design.
This piece features wooden letters suspended beneath a clear acrylic top framed by reclaimed wood sides, symbolizing the fusion of modernity and tradition.
This table, with its metal side slats, pays homage to musical artistry, embodying rhythm and harmony in its structure.
This artwork presents a custom, one-of-a-kind car design with sleek, flat sides, capturing the spirit of speed and innovation.
Featured in a room setting that highlights the Brooks Street Surfing Competition in Laguna Beach, this surfboard table embodies the vibrant energy of the surfing community. The accompanying shelves are equipped with removable, interchangeable bars, offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal. One photograph showcases a shelf with nine different interchangeable bars, available in packs of 3, 6, 9, or 12, each custom -designed to suit diverse tastes.
This console table is part of a broader collection that includes coffee tables, frames, and shelves. Each piece is designed to add a dynamic and engaging element to any space.
These exclusive pieces blend functionality with artistic expression, serving as practical accessories and statement art pieces.

THE VOICE, THE VISION, THE VELVET REVOLUTION OF OPERA AND ART
BY EGOR KELLY
As I sit waiting to interview Robin Phillips, one thought keeps circling in my head: how does one begin to capture someone so dazzlingly multifaceted? Actress. Singer. Filmmaker. Playwright. Author. With 196 Best Awards to her name—including 23 for Best Documentary Feature—Robin Phillips is an enigma wrapped in talent, wrapped in charisma.
Frankly, I’m flustered. Do I lead with her work on stage? Her acclaimed documentary? Her time performing alongside Richard Burton? My inner monologue is spiraling, and somewhere in the fog, I imagine my fairy godmother whispering advice.
Fairy godmother: Egor? Egor? Snap out of it!
Me: Sorry! But she’s not just a star— she’s practically royalty. I mean, she might actually say ‘toodle-oo’ instead of goodbye!
Fairy godmother: She might. But she’s also warm, witty, and down-to-earth. Now go in there and ask your questions.
And so I do—nervous, intrigued, and more than a little starstruck.
A captivating voice, really pleasant to listen to, jolts me back to reality, as I behold the lovely Robin Phillips. We exchange pleasantries. Her enigmatic smile instantly puts me at ease and douses any nervousness I may have felt.
I begin my interview by asking her to tell me all about herself. Her infectious laughter echoes through the room, lifting my spirits even more, as she replies, “I look forward to answering your questions with gusto!” My, oh my; Gusto, indeed, did she deliver!
I really enjoyed interviewing Robin Phillips. She is a very hardworking woman, beautiful inside and out, an intellectual powerhouse whose endless talents know no bounds.
Robin Phillips isn’t your typical opera narrator. Then again, she has never been “typical” at anything. Whether performing Puccini at the French Embassy, winning 196 festival awards for her breakout Shakespeare documentary, or serving as Co-Chairman of the 41st Helen Hayes Awards—Washington DC’s most prestigious theater event—Phillips is a force of nature: elegant, eloquent and electrifying.
In the dramatic photos accompanying this feature, Phillips is seen mid-performance with the Washington Opera Society at La Maison Française, the storied French Embassy venue where she stunned audiences in Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West. Dressed in a sculpted black gown with a dramatic giant silver sequin rose, and rhinestone firework flourishes, she commands the stage with timeless glamour and an unmistakable presence. “A living, breathing subtitle,” critics have called her—creating narrations that transform opera into visceral theater for modern audiences.
“I write a mini-play for each scene of the opera,” Phillips explains. “When you’ve set the stage perfectly for the audience, you can feel a surge of energy from the audience. It’s palpable.”
Phillips will return to La Maison Française this May 23 to narrate Carmen, once again with the Washington Opera Society, where she also serves as Vice President. Her narrations are being hailed by some critics as “the kind of innovation that might just save opera from extinction.”
But opera is only one dimension of this multidimensional artist.
Phillips is also a multi-award-winning filmmaker. Her acclaimed documentary SHAKESPEARE: The Truth Behind the Name investigates the Shakespeare authorship mystery with both scholarly rigor and cinematic flair. What began as an original stage play in a small theater evolved into an international sensation. For over thirty years, Robin Phillips’s meticulous research has shaped the original musical stage plays she has written and produced about historical figures—what critics have called “scholarship brushed with humor.”
Inspired by the film Anonymous, Phillips wrote and produced a stage play exploring the Shakespeare authorship mystery. When the Shakespeare Inquiries Group at the Cosmos Club invited her to present it at a conference in Chicago, staging a live production proved a logistical nightmare. Instead, she brought someone in to film the performance and submitted that.
Transforming the piece into a full documentary took two years. With no idea how it would be received, she entered
her first film festival during Covid. Then came the rave reviews—and the awards began to pour in. With her co-editor/ co-producer, Art Harman, she submitted the film to 400 festivals worldwide—receiving an astonishing 43.8% selection rate and ultimately winning 196 Best awards. IMDb lists 106 Wins (23 Best Documentary Feature & 24 Nominations. BESTS: Educational, Biographical, Experimental, and Historical Feature, not to mention Best First-Time Director, Production Design, Sound Design, and Editing.
The Rome Prisma Awards called the film “a new, fundamental step toward that auteur cinema aware of the other expressive means… a fascinating and evocative narrative created with wisdom, which finds its best expression in the interpretation of Robin Phillips, the author, director and actress. Her artistic and productive effort is clearly evident on the screen: the wealth of sources, images and details combined with great attention to staging, make this a completely successful experiment… A film of impressive breadth capable of reconciling the virtues of cinema and theater and uniting them with the depth of its story.”
Her next documentary will again explore the Shakespeare question, this time focusing on the trailblazing researcher, Katherine Eggar, who in 1935 gave a talk to the Royal Musical Asso-
ciation titled, The 17th Earl of Oxford as Musician, Poet and Controller of the Queen’s Revels. Eggar wrote, “de Vere has been made a mere effigy, a puppet by historians. I want to bring him to life.” Robin intends to do exactly that. And in the meantime, Phillips continues marketing her current award-winning documentary SHAKESPEARE: The Truth Behind the Name in small theater settings. The event organizers’ staff often wear Elizabethan costumes – very festive with everyone getting in the spirit!
In her early years, Phillips suffered from devastating stage fright. But after her natural poise and bearing landed her several lead roles, she went on to study in London under two distinguished professors from RADA and Webber Douglas. She toured Europe, created and starred in cabaret shows in multiple languages, and later sharpened her craft at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington. When a local theater failed to cast her in a musical role, she didn’t retreat—she pivoted. For the next thirty years she wrote, produced, and performed her own original musical stage shows based on historical figures, honing the storytelling and performance instincts that would one day serve her as a filmmaker.
That same spirit of self-determination defined a pivotal moment on stage…
In The Art of Possibility, Boston Phil-
harmonic Music Director Benjamin Zander writes that, “In performance art, mistakes on stage can turn into magic. Embrace them.” And one night at the Rosslyn Spectrum Theater, during the world premiere stage adaptation of Jules & Jim, she understood just what he meant. When she accidentally repeated a stanza of “La Paloma” mid-performance, she leaned in with fearless conviction—and brought the house down. “That’s when the gods fly in,” she recalls. “I’ve never sung with such power in my life.”
It’s this openness to transformation, this belief in turning mistakes into magic, that defines Phillips’ approach to every medium she touches—stage, screen, music, or spoken word.
“What does a filmmaker do while waiting for funding for her next film?” she laughs. “She throws herself into the community. She creates. She performs. She reinvents. Always.”
As Co-Chairman of the 41st Helen Hayes Awards, which will be held May 19, she’s helping elevate the best of Washington DC’s vast and vibrant theater scene, where over 90 professional venues rival even New York’s Broadway. “Live performance feeds cinema,” she says. “That’s where the raw power begins.”
And Robin Phillips has never shied away from raw power. She owns it— gracefully, joyfully, and unapologetically.

Some places you visit once and cross off your bucket list. Sweden isn’t one of them.
This is a country of contrasts so vast that one trip simply isn’t enough. Where else can you swim in a crystal-clear lake in summer and skate long distances across its frozen surface in winter? Or witness the Northern Lights one season and bask in 24-hour daylight under the Midnight Sun the next?
Sweden is a land where extremes live in harmony — snowy forests melt into lush farmland, glassy lakes mirror the sky in summer and freeze solid in winter. One visit can’t capture it all. Every season transforms Sweden completely, and each return reveals something new and unforgettable.
In fact, Sweden has captured the hearts of travelers — with 92% of British visitors* eager to return.
Here are five reasons why Sweden deserves a second (and third) visit:
If you’ve been captivated by the Northern Lights, wait until you experience the golden daylight of the Midnight Sun.
Swedish Lapland is home to some of nature’s most spectacular wonders. In winter, the aurora borealis dances across the sky. Join a guided snowshoe tour to learn about the science and folklore behind the lights, take a dog sled ride far from the city glow, or savor northern flavors on a local street food tour beneath the stars.
Come summer, the sun never sets north of the Arctic Circle. Play midnight golf in Haparanda, join the world’s northernmost triathlon in Gällivare, or hike the vast Laponia World Heritage Area, where untamed nature and ancient Sami traditions intertwine.
From vibrant summers to soulful winters, every season unveils a new side of Sweden’s cities: Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö.
In the warmer months, life spills into the streets. Festival energy fills the air. Sip your fika under cherry blossoms in Stockholm’s Kungsträdgården. Catch live music in Gothenburg’s Slottsskogen Park at Way Out West. Or kayak through Malmö’s peaceful canals before cooling off with a swim at its city beach, Ribban.
Then winter arrives, and the cities slow down and glow. This is when Swedes embrace mys—a word for cosy contentment. Curl up in a candlelit café with a warm cinnamon bun. Wander through Stockholm’s Nobel Week Lights in December or stroll Gothenburg’s Julstaden, where millions of fairy lights shimmer across the city. In Malmö, find stillness in frosted parks or step into its thriving indoor cultural scene.
Celebrate the light twice a year, in two completely different ways. In Sweden, the calendar is framed by luminous traditions: Midsummer and Lucia Day.
On Midsummer’s Eve, Swedes gather in open fields crowned in flowers, dancing barefoot around the maypole and sharing pickled herring, potatoes, and strawberry cake. With barely a sunset in sight, it’s a festival of life, laughter, and summer magic — celebrated from city parks to coastal archipelagos.
Fast forward six months, and the long darkness of winter is met with another powerful symbol of light: Lucia. On the morning of December 13th, processions of children dressed in white sing gently through churches, schools, and homes. At the front is Lucia, wearing a crown of candles. Enjoy saffron-scented lussekatter buns, sip warm glögg, and take in one of Sweden’s most enchanting traditions.
4. Sweden by Train – Two Journeys,
In spring, board the Wilderness Train (Vildmarkståget) and glide through Sweden’s backcountry in vintage carriages. A collaboration with the Railway Museum in Gävle, this rare route spans from Stockholm to Kiruna via the remote High Coast, offering a first-class view of untamed landscapes and quiet villages.
In autumn, explore southern Sweden with quick rail trips beloved by locals. The Huskvarna–Jönköping–Bankeryd line in Småland follows the shoreline of Lake Vättern, Sweden’s deepest lake. The Kinnekullebanan line in West Sweden runs past charming 19th-century stations and alongside Lake Vänern, the largest in the country. Step off and hike the scenic Biosphere Trail or Kinnekulle
Trail — it’s slow travel at its finest.
If you’ve plunged into a cool, quiet lake in summer, imagine gliding across that same surface in winter, frozen solid beneath your feet.
Sweden boasts over 100,000 lakes and a wildly varied coastline, making it a haven for outdoor lovers. In summer, paddle through Bohuslän’s island-scattered seascape, fish in Skåne, or take part in the world’s original swimrun event, ÖtillÖ.
In winter, the waters transform. Skate across frozen lakes like Tavelsjö in Västerbotten, warmed by thermoses and endless sky. Try ice fishing or dare to take an ice bath — followed by a sauna, of course. This seasonal duality is what makes Swedish nature so unforgettable.
Sweden’s Indigenous Sami people believe four seasons aren’t enough to describe the changes in their land — they recognize eight. With this much variation, there’s always something new to experience, no matter the time of year.
So whether you’ve been before or are just beginning to dream — make your next trip to Sweden even more unforgettable than the first.

A visually stunning and deeply emotional short film makes its world premiere at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival on May 3rd.
“We all carry creatures within us. This film simply gives them a face.”
In a world where emotional pain is often invisible, Creatures of Chaos dares to give it form—wild, unpredictable, and strikingly beautiful form. This extraordinary 6-minute 2D animated short explores mental health through a surreal, collage-inspired lens that brings our inner struggles to life.
Directed by Asavari Kumar and Shaivalini Kumar, co-founders of the POC women-led creative studio Supernova Design, the film follows four neighbors whose emotional turmoil manifests as chaotic, living creatures. As they attempt to hide these strange companions, a moment of connection reveals they are not alone in their chaos. The film’s poignant message: vulnerability is not weakness—it’s a bridge to community.
Supernova Design is no stranger to innovation, having developed award-winning projects for Warner Animation Group, Google, YouTube, and Headspace. But Creatures of Chaos marks a departure into deeply personal territory, inspired by the stigma surrounding mental health—particularly within South Asian communities, where emotional resilience is often expected, but support is rarely offered.
The film began in an unexpected place: a pottery studio. The creatures were first sculpted in clay, each one an emotional blueprint of psychological struggle. What began as a hybrid concept—mixing live-action with augmented reality—evolved into a vibrant, textured collage style that mirrored the internal chaos it aimed to portray.
In a reversal of typical animation pipelines, environments were built around the expressive characters, not the other way around. The team embraced imperfection and layered textures to reflect the nonlinear, messy nature of healing. With no dialogue,
the story becomes universally accessible, relying on immersive sound design by Wesley Slover of Sanctus to guide emotional resonance.
As the world grapples with collective anxiety, burnout, and emotional overload, Creatures of Chaos arrives with rare relevance. It offers not just representation, but empathy—transforming invisible pain into something audiences can see, feel, and reflect on. “The four neighbors in our story represent different facets of emotional struggle,” shares director Asavari Kumar. “But their journey reveals a timeless truth: we are not alone in our chaos.”
The film’s core theme—that sharing our struggles can lead to healing—is rendered in unforgettable visuals. The creatures, with their strange, oversized forms, become both burdens and bridges, symbolizing the shared human experience of emotional complexity. In seeing each other’s chaos, the characters begin to reclaim their sense of connection—and so might we.
Creatures of Chaos premieres May 3rd at 9:00 PM at the AMC Atlantic Times Square 14 in Monterey Park, CA, as part of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. Press are invited to join Zoom press days on Thursday and Friday leading into the premiere.

If you’re one of the many fans of Dionne Warwick, you’re going to relish the performances by her tribute artist, Debórah Benton. Debórah has gained attention for her soulful renditions of works such as “I’ll Never Love This Way Again,” “Do You Know The Way to San José,” and “Walk on By” - which she’ll be performing in a 90-minute concert for audiences all over. Debórah has been hailed by Warwick’s publicist, Angelo Ellerbee as “the most reminiscent of Dionne than anyone else I’ve heard.”
Debórah’s live concert, “Deja Vu - The Dionne Warwick Tribute” captures the essence of the classy diva of Pop-R&B-Jazz. From the beautiful wardrobes to the signature vocal style, audiences have been mesmerized by a dazzling 90-minute show featuring Dionne Warwick’s greatest hits, captivatingly reminiscent of the music the way millions of fans remember and love these songs –all from the soundtrack of their lives. Debórah has garnered recognition as the sole tribute artist for the music of Dionne Warwick anywhere in the world. She is not an impersonator, but rather, a song stylist who exemplifies the spirit and energy of Warwick’s music, but with a presence all her own.
Readers may recognize Debórah Benton from her popular television show, Valley Gold with Debórah (2005 - present), which showcases the lives and careers of celebrity entertainers such as The Whispers, The Stylistics, members of The Ohio Players, The Temptations and Parliament Funkadelic’s and other music icons. In recent years, Debórah decided to pursue her greatest passion, which is singing. Determining ‘what’ to sing was, for
her, a no-brainer. “Since I was 8 or 9 years old, people said I sounded like Dionne Warwick. That was a tremendous compliment because Dionne Warwick is my all-time favorite vocalist.” In naming the tribute presentation, Debórah further states, “There is now and will ever only be one Ms. Dionne Warwick. I chose the title “Déjà Vu” because it’s a favorite Warwick hit, and as the term implies, we’ve experienced it all before. Now I’m giving my best representation of this rich treasure of music as recorded by Ms. Dionne Warwick.”
Since stepping onto the stage, Debórah has performed in concert with 3X Emmy-winning arranger-producer Bill Jolly and his band. She also received great accolades in a recent concert performance with international award-winning Russell Thompkins, Jr. & The New Stylistics where she and the group did renditions of hits previously recorded by Warwick and the Stylistics. Debórah has also performed with various Motown Tribute groups in the U.S. and throughout Australia.
After years of showcasing the talents of others on the Valley Gold Show, Debórah is ecstatic over the success she is now experiencing as a vocal stylist, and the offers continue to come in.
