COVID-19 is a global crisis with huge consequences for people as well as systems around the world. This new reality is overwhelming. Numbing. Crippling. But every cloud has a silver lining. When all is in disarray, no one needs to feel they have all the answers, because clearly no one does In crisis, it is acceptable to have more questions than answers In crisis, there’s no room for ‘not-invented-here’ In crisis, we should all be learners

Mental health support tips for teachers

As teachers, you have a unique relationship with young people and as such are often privy to, or made aware of, when students are going through a tough time emotionally. Knowing how to support your own mental health and wellbeing, and that of your students’ is essential in providing a supportive learning environment.

When a student turns to you for help, it's because they trust and respect you Sometimes being the person that someone turns to can become a burden When students confide in you, naturally you want to do all you can to help them But sometimes it's hard to know what to say, how to help, or who to turn to for advice. After all, you are not a trained counsellor.

Show you care and give them time and attention. Perhaps, the most important thing that you could do is just be there for them. Often students don't need anything more than someone who is willing to just be there for them. Having a trusted adult that they can talk to is an important protective factor.

Editorial: Priority for teacher's well-being a must in the post-pandemic world

The COVID-19 pandemic is having a profound effect on our education system. Schools are closing across the country, learning is being moved online, and educators are scrambling to adapt their curriculum and learn new strategies for teaching students from a distance. In schools that remain open, teachers are coping with heightened stress levels from students, families, and colleagues

A good work-life balance is essential to staying healthy, focused, and stress free But COVID-19 requires teachers lead the way in adapting to a new “normal” at home and in their virtual classroom.

“Teachers should imagine what a work-life balance would look like What would it feel like? What would you prioritize? What activities or events would you implement that bring you joy?” Dr Walker says “Teachers must give themselves permission to take a break and be happy. The relationship you have with yourself is the most important. When we have a healthy relationship with ourselves, our relationships with others are also healthy, in and outside the classroom.”

True enough, recognizing and addressing the mental, emotional, and physical needs of teachers is crucial to ensure their resilience and effectiveness in the classroom. By providing adequate support, professional development opportunities, and fostering a culture of wellbeing, we can empower teachers to continue shaping the future of education with enthusiasm and dedication

Uyu Pusong

When Uyu Pusong saw the dead pig, he was puzzled.

“Goodness, your dead, Pig. I thought you liked taking a bath,” Uyu Pusong told the dead pig.

Uyu was really wondering what he would do with the dead pig.

“The thieves will definitely kill me with what I did to the pig!” he worriedly told himself.

“I will roast and eat this, at least, I would die with a full stomach,” Uyu Pusong said.

He boiled and shaved the pig, then started roasting it. He even cooked rice.

Once done, he ate to his heart’s delight. His stomach bloated after it was filled. He couldn’t event stand after eating too much!

Afternoon came and Uyu Pusong climbed above the ceiling. He heard the robbers coming home. They were extremely hungry and they saw food spread on top of the table. They feasted on what was served.

When they were done eating, they laid on the table the sack of silver that they have stolen.

u u g y cajoled by the thieves to look after the pigs

“Uyu, we will go somewhere, so make sure to wash the pigs and feed them,” one of them told him

“As you wish,” Pusong answered

The thieves departed and Pusong was left alone Afterwards, he cleaned the hogs

“Would you like to take a bath?” Pusong asked the pig

“Uk uk uk ” the pig replied

“Oh my, it answered! Would you like hot water?” Pusong asked again

“Uk uk uk ” the pig replied once more

“My, my! He likes hot water for his bath!”

So Pusong boiled the water, carefully carried it to the pig pen and splashed it on the pig

The pig, much to his discomfort, jumped in pain because of the extreme heat

“Hahaha!” Uyu laughed with joy thinking the pig was having a good time

He kept throwing boiling water on the pig and it wailed in pain once more

“Goodness, he is having fun with the hot water!

Wait and I’ll splash some more boiling water unto you, ” Uyu Pusong said.

Poor pig cried and jumped higher in pain until he fell dead.

They spread their loot and counted the treasures to be shared. Pusong also yearned to have the silver the thieves were counting. He badly wanted the money.

All of a sudden, heavy from gluttony, he could no longer hold and he fell from above, straight on the table. Feeling helpless over his situation, he acted wildly like he was possessed with his eyes seemingly piercing and sharp

The thieves got afraid and out of fear they ran away parting ways, in different directions Pusong was left on the tabletop and embraced the money Uyu Pusong ended up a wealthy person

Children's Story

Just be Honest

Once upon a time, in a charming little village, there lived a young boy named Sam. Sam had a magical ability – he could make flowers bloom with just a touch of his hand. The townspeople were amazed by his gift and often gathered around him to witness the beauty of his flowerfilled creations

But there was something else about Sam that was even more special – he had an unwavering commitment to honesty. He believed that telling the truth was like nourishing the roots of a flower, making it grow tall and strong

One sunny morning, as Sam was walking through the village square, he noticed a small, shiny coin lying on the ground. It was the most beautiful coin he had ever seen, and he picked it up, marveling at its sparkle. In that moment, a mischievous thought crossed his mind – he could keep the coin for himself and buy all the toys he had ever dreamed of

But just as quickly, his honest heart spoke up He remembered his mother's words, "Honesty is the purest form of kindness, for it builds trust and brings true happiness."

With a deep breath, Sam decided to do what he knew was right He went to the village elder, wise old Mr Thompson, and told him about finding the shiny coin Mr Thompson smiled warmly and patted Sam on the back.

"Sam, my dear boy," he said, " your honesty is worth more than any treasure. You have a heart of gold "

As the days went by, Sam's reputation for honesty spread throughout the village The townspeople admired and respected him, not only for his magical flower-making ability but also for his truthful nature. They began to seek his advice and trust him with their secrets.

One afternoon, a poor old woman named Mrs Jenkins visited Sam with a worried look on her face She had lost her precious necklace, a family heirloom. Tears welled up in her eyes as she shared her distress.

Sam listened attentively, his heart filled with compassion He promised Mrs Jenkins that he would help her find the necklace Together, they retraced her steps through the village

In the end, they discovered the necklace tangled in the branches of a bush, where it had fallen unknowingly Mrs Jenkins was overjoyed and thanked Sam profusely

"I can't believe you found it! You truly are a remarkable young man, " she said with a smile Sam beamed with happiness, knowing that he had made a difference by being honest and helping someone in need

As the years passed, Sam's reputation as the boy with a heart of gold grew far beyond the village Kings and queens from distant lands sought his counsel, and he became known as the "Honest Advisor "

And so, dear children, remember the tale of Sam, the boy who could make flowers bloom and who cherished honesty above all else. Like him, let your hearts be true and your words be kind, for honesty is a magical gift that can make the world a brighter place for everyone.

Memoir

Reclaiming my Inner Child

I vividly remember the year 2020 when the world outside my window raged with the uncertainty and isolation of the pandemic. In those challenging times, I sought solace in the gentle embrace of writing a journal. Little did I know that these intimate moments of self-reflection would lead me on a profound journey of rediscovering myself, ultimately bringing me back to the forgotten echoes of my inner child.

As I allowed myself to peel back the layers of adulthood, I found myself returning to a time before responsibility and societal expectations had taken hold. I unveiled the child I had never fully known a child I once yearned to break free from the chains of adulthood, the joy he had missed, and the innocent dreams cast aside in the pursuit of survival.

My father’s battle with alcoholism weighed heavily on our family, leaving us in perpetual

financial hardship. Most of his earnings were squandered on alcohol, making it impossible to save money. Our impoverished status became a stark reality, a constant reminder of the detrimental effects of his addiction. I learned early on that I couldn’t afford the luxury of carefree moments like my peers I had to grow up quickly to adapt and navigate a world plagued by poverty, uncertainty, and emotional turbulence.

Hand-me-downs and donated clothes were a familiar sight in my closet during my formative years. While my classmates revealed parties, vacations, and indulgent birthdays, I could only dream of such extravagance. My mind was preoccupied with my family’s struggles and our daily challenges. The simple joys seemed elusive, distant dreams at that time.

At16, I was fortunate to receive a government scholarship that granted me to continue higher education. While this was an incredible opportunity, I realized that the allowances were not sufficient to support all of my necessities and cover the costs of going to college. Determined to help myself and my studies, I embarked on a journey as a working student during my

sophomore year. I took up a job as a call center agent, working night shifts while attending classes during the day. Eventually, the conflicting schedules forced me to quit, knowing that sacrificing my scholarships for work would hinder my chances of obtaining a stable job in the future. Despite the financial struggles, I believed completing my college education would open doors to a more secure future. To supplement my allowances, I found a sideline job tutoring preschoolers At such a young age, I took on roles and responsibilities typically reserved for grown-ups.

As the years passed, I began working as a human resource specialist in a BPO company, finally able to afford some of the things I had longed for Yet, the embers of my neglected inner child glowed brighter, urging me to reclaim what was lost. I indulged in buying new clothes, embarking on vacation trips, and purchasing gadgets and books that reignited my spirit. These were the luxuries I yearned for as a child but never had the chance to experience Each cherished item soared my heart higher, gradually healing the wounds of the past as I nurtured the innocence that had been neglected I even allowed myself to celebrate birthdays surrounded by laughter and merriment, something I had never truly experienced growing up These small but meaningful moments became my way of reclaiming the dreams I once thought were elusive and lost within my heart

I remember writing a poem to my inner child, a personal remembrance of how I learned to nurture myself through my childhood

A Teacher's Life

A teacher's life is a tapestry woven with passion, dedication, and boundless love for nurturing young minds. Every day, they embark on a journey to shape the future, imparting knowledge and wisdom to their students They are architects of inspiration, crafting lessons that ignite curiosity and foster a thirst for learning. Through challenges and triumphs, they remain steadfast, planting seeds of knowledge that bloom into confident, compassionate individuals. A teacher's life is a

I challenges, taking on the responsibility of financially providing for my family It was an expression of my strength and independence: “He was delicate as a flower, Yet as strong as his roots He was his own flower gardener, Taking care of his buds, Until he blooms.”

Reflecting on those years, I have realized that while I might have lost out on some aspects of a typical childhood, I learned valuable perspectives on life. I developed my kindness and empathy for others who carried their own burdens. The struggles I encountered along the way have shaped me into the person I am now by instilling a solid appreciation for persistence and independence.

N ow, I’ve welcomed the chance to reclaim the innocent wonder, playfulness, and curiosity that eluded me during my early years. I cherish the simple pleasures, savor the moments of playfulness, and adopt the carefree spirit that was temporarily overshadowed by responsibility. Although I cannot turn back the hands of time, I can choose to embrace the child within me. I carry the lessons learned from my unconventional childhood, allowing them to guide me as I strive to balance maturity with the joyful innocence that resides deep within.

Bilingualism in Language Teaching

First and foremost, what exactly is the bilingual method? It occurs when two languages are used in a classroom to teach a language For example, if you teach in Korea, the kids will speak Korean as their first language, and you will also speak English in that lesson So, how exactly does it work? The grammar principles and terminology are explained in Korean or Japanese, while the rest of the lesson is taught in English.

Who came up with the Bilingual Method?

C.J. created the bilingual technique. In 1967, Dobson was born. It is thought to be a hybrid of the direct technique and the grammartranslation method. It concentrates on oral production, similar to the direct method and the audio-lingual approach. Unlike the grammar-translation method, however, it results in open discussion. Moreover, Bilingual education is a broad phrase that refers to a variety of educational programs developed for a diverse range of children and a variety of particular circumstances. Bilingual education, in essence, refers to any school program in which more than one language is used in the curriculum to teach non-language academic subject matter or the language of schooling does not correspond to the language of the home or community, but the reasons for incorporating the languages, the specific languages chosen, the structure of the program, and the relationship between the school languages and the community vary widely and influence educational outcomes. The contrast between 'bilingual education' and 'education of bilingual children' is crucial.

Genesee (2004, 548) defined bilingual education as ‘education that aims to promote bilingual (or multilingual) competence by using both (or all) languages as media of instruction for significant portions of the academic curriculum’. Conversely, Rossell and Baker (1996, 7) defined bilingual education as ‘teaching non-English-speaking students to read and write in their native tongue, teaching

them content in their native tongue, and gradually transitioning them to English over a period of several years ’ Clearly these definitions are describing different situations and carry different goals

Contribution of Bilingualism in Language Teaching

Baker (1988) have pointed out that children’s mother tongues are fragile and easily lost in the early years of school Many people marvel at how quickly bilingual children seem to pick up conversational skills in the majority language in the early years at school although it takes much longer for them to catch up to native speakers in academic language skills Similarly, we may often see children on the playground who appear to speak English with no problem Yet when they are in a classroom situation, they just don’t seem to grasp the concepts. Many people fail to realize that there are different levels of language proficiency. Actually, they still needed time and assistance to develop their academic English skills (Cummins 1984).

Professionals in second language acquisition have become increasingly aware of the role the mother tongue plays in the EFL classroom. Nunan and Lamb (1996), for example, contend that EFL teachers working with monolingual students at lower levels of English proficiency find prohibition of the mother tongue to be practically impossible. Dornnyei and Kormos (1998) find that the L1 is used by L2 learners as a communication strategy to compensate for deficiencies in the target language. Auerbuch (1993) also acknowledges the positive role of the mother tongue in the classroom

"Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going."

Duro Ro Atong Kalipay An Akeanon Folk Song

"Duro ro Atong Kalipay" is a traditional gathering song among the Akeanon community in the province of Aklan, Philippines and it is often sung during simple to grand occasions such as family gatherings, fiestas, and Christmas celebrations.

The song ' s lively melody encourages everyone to come together in celebration and enjoy each other's company. It speaks of the joy and happiness that come with being surrounded by loved ones, as well as the importance of cherishing these moments and making the most out of them.

With its catchy tune and meaningful lyrics, "Duro ro Atong Kalipay" has become a beloved part of the Akeanon culture and a symbol of their strong sense of community and togetherness.

The song was composed by Ananias Morales Atienza. He was born in Taal, Batangas during the 1870s. He pursued his musical education at the Milan Conservatory of Music in Italy and became an innovative composer, known for crafting art songs on various themes. A versatile musician, Atienza could play every instrument in an orchestra and was an accomplished composer.

On December 30, 1896, Atienza conducted a Filipino band composed of Spanish Army troops during the execution of Jose Rizal in Bagumbayan. Deeply disturbed by the event, Atienza managed to flee Manila. Upon discovering that his close friend, Pio Martelino Legaspi, was about to sail back to the Visayas, he seized the opportunity to join him. Upon their arrival in Calivo, now known as Kalibo, Aklan, Atienza met Pio's younger sister, Lutgarda, and immediately fell in love. Due to his reputation and influence, along with Pio's approval, their marriage was easily arranged. Consequently, Atienza settled in Aklan. The couple had six children together: Angeles, Jose, Jovita, Paz, Luz, and Merli.

What you need to know about futsal

Futsal is a fast-paced, indoor variant of soccer that is played on a smaller, hard court with a smaller ball The word "futsal" is derived from the Spanish or Portuguese term "fútbol de salón" or "futebol de salão," which translates to "indoor football " The sport was developed in the 1930s and 1940s in South America as a way to play soccer in a smaller space, and it has gained popularity worldwide since then

The main characteristics of futsal include teams of five players each, including a goalkeeper The game is typically played in two halves, with each half lasting around 20 minutes The ball used in futsal is smaller and has less bounce than a regular soccer ball, which allows for more precise control and quick passing on the hard court surface

Futsal is known for its emphasis on skill, quick decision-making, and close ball control The smaller playing area requires players to be agile and highly skilled in both offensive and defensive techniques Due to the confined space, futsal encourages players to develop their dribbling, passing, and shooting abilities in tight situations.

The sport has its own set of rules, which differ from traditional soccer, and it places a strong emphasis on fair play and respect for opponents. Futsal is played in various formats, from recreational levels to competitive leagues and international tournaments, including the FIFA Futsal World Cup.

Futsal has become popular as both a standalone sport and a training tool for soccer players. Its fast-paced nature and focus on technical skills make it an exciting and enjoyable game for players and spectators alike. The sport continues to grow globally, with more countries embracing futsal and organizing local competitions to promote its development.

Futsal's popularity has also been fueled by its inclusivity, as it can be played by people of all ages and skill levels, making it a fun and accessible sport for everyone to enjoy.

Philippine Futsal Timeline

• 1960’s to1980’s – an informal form of futsal has been played in the Philippines which is usually played as part of a cross training for footballers during rainy weather using regular association football rules. It was known as indoor football.

• 1995 – Joaquin Preysler of the PFF together with Bob Manlulo, Hans Smit and Noel Casilao organize a team for the Asian Futsal Qualifiers.

• 2007 – Philippine Women’s Futsal team clinched Bronze Medal in Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) held in Thailand

• 2009 - 2016 – Philippine Football Federation organized a futsal league which was known as the “Philippine Futsal League” and was headed by Iranian coach EsmaeilSedigh

• 2013 – Futsal debuts as a Demo Sport in the Department of Education’s PalarongPambansa games

• 2014 - Futsal becomes an official sport in Philippine Sports Commission BatangPinoy games

Cultivating Endurance for Long-Distance Running

As an experienced coach, I have discovered that the most important quality for training athletes in long-distance running is endurance Endurance is a combination of physical strength and mental toughness To begin this journey, the first step is to enhance your aerobic fitness, which forms the foundation of any endurance routine By implementing welldesigned training programs, we can improve the duration and intensity of steady-state runs This helps to enhance the heart's ability to transport oxygen, ultimately strengthening the cardiovascular endurance of runners

After establishing a strong base of aerobic fitness, the next step is to concentrate on improving athletes' anaerobic threshold Tempo runs and interval training can enhance the threshold for fatigue caused by lactic acid buildup As a result, runners improve their ability to sustain faster speeds over long distances, surpassing previous limits and showcasing their strength and determination

Integrating strength training and flexibility exercises helps develop endurance in a well-

rounded way Focusing on building core strength, developing leg muscles, and improving hip stability, along with a combination of dynamic and static stretching exercises, helps improve running efficiency and reduce the risk of injuries The athlete that emerges is not only strong but also quick and effective in their movements

Lastly, mental endurance is equally crucial This sport requires a combination of physical strength and mental toughness Athletes use goal setting, visualization techniques, and mindfulness to stay focused, handle discomfort, and stay motivated, even in tough situations

Seeing them change into strong individuals, who can go beyond their limits, shows how much effort they have put into their journey and the true meaning of endurance training. The complex process of developing runners who consistently demonstrate their determination and endurance highlights the fulfilling nature of coaching.

Teachers' Upskilling and Reskilling in the New Normal

The unanticipated shift to distance learning put our workforce of educators' knowledge, mentalities, and abilities to the test in a direct and immediate manner. Everyone was required to embrace a high level of comfort with vagueness as strategies and prospects shifted on a weekly basis, and as a new school year approaches and the global pandemic continues, educators are psyching themselves up for these abrupt and transitory changes to develop. This is the most significant challenge that the majority of teachers in the Philippines are confronted with. It is caused by a lack of skills as well as a gap in education, and it is the reason why teachers are unable to advance themselves. The problem of upskilling is both intricate and multi-faceted; however, thanks to developments in technology, the process of educator education is becoming less cumbersome and more straightforward.

E-learning startups have designed innovative programs and modes of delivery to assist teachers in upskilling the students and professionals of the modern age. This is in response to the fact that traditional teacher training courses are becoming increasingly ineffective in meeting the demand brought on by the current pandemic The conventional approaches used in training programs for teachers have not been successful in enhancing the professional development of the teachers in many respects The most significant challenge that the majority of teachers are confronted with is that they are unable to advance their careers because they lack necessary skills and suffer from educational deficiencies The issue of upskilling is both complex and multi-dimensional, but due to advancements in technology, teacher learning is becoming smoother and easier

The following are a few examples of elearning platforms that are helping to simplify this process for highly motivated professionals by providing them with access to a variety of online courses that not only contribute to an increase in their knowledge but also assist

them in finding jobs that are secure: The edtech platform known as Suraasa focuses on the professional development of teachers and provides them with the teaching skills necessary for the 21st century. Before the discovery of the novel coronavirus, there was already a pressing need to keep our teaching force current and well-trained. The World Economic Forum predicted in 2019 that the effects of automation, shifts to virtual work, and advancements in technology would require more than half of all employees to acquire additional skills or retrain themselves by the year 2022. The obligation of working from home and maintaining a social distance have merely advanced these wants.

Within the realm of education, upskilling in analogous ways will be necessary for traditional competencies. In order to determine whether or not there is room for improvement in these areas, the first thing that leaders will need to do is compare how they performed prior to and after the implementation of

Teachers' Reskilling Competencies in the New Normal

In the coming year, our educational system will face staffing challenges that have never been seen before. A workforce that is already understaffed will be stretched to its limits as a result of budget cuts, constraints on class sizes, and the requirement that a considerable percentage of teachers remain at home. In order to alleviate worries regarding capacity, leaders will need to explore how to reskill both traditionally held roles and newly established roles in order to fulfill capacity demands.

Districts ought to think about reskilling both newly created and already existing roles in order to ease similar strains on capacity. As an illustration, parents could obtain instruction on how to facilitate either guided or independent practice with their children. It is possible that counselors will lead daily small-group instruction on health and wellness in order to reduce the number of students in each classroom. There is a possibility that bus drivers will play a role in the distribution of wifi and the provision of fundamental in-person technical support for online students and teachers. In order for school districts to be able to meet the unprecedented demands placed on their capacity and physical space, they will need to expand their thinking beyond the traditional role of the teacher in order to support the new demands placed on

It will be necessary for all positions, regardless of role or title, to undergo retraining in order to acquire new information, ways of thinking, and skills. In the year that lies ahead, a significant amount of training and reinforcement will be required for skills and knowledge that were formerly held by virtual instructors or mentalities for coping with uncertainty that were not universally required. Finally, the efforts that teachers put into hiring, developing, and evaluating their students need to be readjusted.

The process of upskilling and reskilling will call for significant efforts to be made in terms of human resources across hiring, onboarding, and development structures. Teams can begin to identify both barriers and bridges along new and existing competencies if they first determine the current state of skill development as well as its future state. It is possible that teams will begin revising their hiring profiles in order to reorder the knowledge, abilities, and mindsets required of successful applicants

Previously considered "nice-to-have" characteristics, such as digital instruction or a high level of comfort with ambiguity, may soon become prerequisites for employment Structured interviews will need to be modified so that they include questions and performance tasks that reflect the new priorities For instance, candidates could be asked to demonstrate their teaching skills through a virtual lesson, or they could be asked questions that probe how they would maintain productivity and quality in the face of changing conditions Onboarding and professional development structures will also need to take into account opportunities for upskilling and reskilling The beginning stages of summer teacher training programs such in teaching are currently underway The program is putting additional emphasis on social and emotional learning strategies, training on digital tools for lessons and communication, and rethinking traditional classroom management techniques such as the use of proximity. This is being done in place of in-person teaching and intensive coaching in summer schools across the country. Teachers have the opportunity to

participate in and remark upon productive ways for virtual instruction due to the fact that the training is conducted virtually.

Along with print textbooks and workbooks, blended learning solutions provide essential tools such as digital learning resources, test generators with question banks linked to various learning and difficulty levels, analysis of class performance, and automated reports for parents that can be accessed through mobile apps. These tools are all part of the solution known as blended learning. A digitized setup provided by blended learning solutions provides a rich repository of print and online resources that enable teachers to collaborate with students to create a learning environment that is more interactive and engaging. This is seen from the perspective of teachers, who benefit from having access to this repository. A blended approach to learning and teaching makes it feasible to do justice to the idea of inter-disciplinary teaching. Blended learning and teaching involve a combination of face-to-face instruction and online learning.

An effective answer to this problem is provided by artificial intelligence in the form of systems that look to analyze the online exam environment by recording retinal activity, environment stimulus activity, and IP addresses, respectively. The data acquired through such digital tests, when combined with the capability of machine learning, would auto-generate evaluation papers and a course of action for each individual student, allowing teachers to focus more on the facilitation aspect of their jo

In the end, districts will be responsible for examining how the methods of coaching and evaluation correspond with and support the revised standards In order to get managers on the same page regarding training expectations and look-fors, teachers all around the world Districts will need to think about similar guidelines, which include but are not limited to things like practices for virtual instruction, seating charts and classroom arrangements that comply with CDC standards, and classroom management and instructional strategies that incorporate social distancing

How to Create a Comprehensive Training Program to Enhancing Sprint Performance

Sprinting, a thrilling and fiercely competitive sport, requires a comprehensive training regimen to excel. A winning sprinting program requires focusing on several important factors. These include enhancing technique, building strength and power, increasing speed, and considering the psychological and nutritional aspects.

In the world of sprinting, the first pillar that holds utmost importance is none other than technique. In the world of sprinting, it is not uncommon for athletes to mistakenly believe that speed alone is the key to achieving success. However, what they often fail to realize is the crucial role that technique plays in their performance. To achieve peak performance, it is crucial to master key elements such as stride length and frequency, body position, arm action, and start technique. These aspects play a vital role in maximizing athletic potential. In order to achieve success, the utilization of video analysis becomes absolutely vital. This powerful tool allows us to pinpoint any technical flaws and closely track progress and development. Therefore, it is

crucial for the training program to incorporate specialized exercises that aim to enhance these specific aspects Athletes should engage in targeted drills that focus on refining their technique, all while receiving expert supervision and guidance.

The next two important aspects in sports are strength and power, which serve as the building blocks for speed. When it comes to training for sprinting, it's crucial for a sprinter to incorporate functional strength exercises into their routine. These exercises are designed to mimic the movements involved in sprinting, helping the sprinter develop the necessary strength and power. Additionally, it's important to prioritize unilateral exercises, which work one side of the body at a time, in order to avoid any muscle imbalances that could hinder performance. Furthermore, athletes can enhance their explosive strength by incorporating plyometric exercises such as squat jumps, bounding, and single-leg hops. These exercises allow athletes to quickly and forcefully utilize their strength, effectively connecting the dots between strength and power. When it comes to strength training, it's important to have a plan that gradually increases in difficulty and aligns with the

athlete's level of experience and upcoming competitions

The fourth pillar is all about speed The development of athletic prowess can be achieved through two distinct forms of training: maximal velocity and acceleration The first one helps athletes keep going fast, while the second one helps them go fast right away A wellrounded sprinting program typically combines these components, adjusting the emphasis based on the phase of the training season

When it comes to sprinting, the fifth pillar, known as psychology, is what sets apart the good sprinters from the truly great ones In order to enhance their performance, athletes should incorporate various techniques into their training program These techniques include goal setting, mental imagery, self-talk, and stress management By integrating these strategies, athletes can optimize their training and achieve their desired outcomes Athletes have discovered a winning formula for success: setting SMART goals, using visualization techniques, and practicing positive self-talk By following these strategies, athletes can enhance their performance and build up their confidence Moreover, when athletes are taught stress management techniques, it can assist them in staying calm and delivering their optimal performance during intense moments

Now, let's talk about the last important aspect of sports performance - nutrition. The nutritional needs of athletes can change depending on how hard they train and how much they do. Nevertheless, there are some fundamental principles that remain true: a well-rounded diet consisting of lean proteins to aid in the mending and development of muscles, complex carbohydrates to fuel intense workouts, and nourishing fats to promote overall well-being. Staying hydrated is super important, especially when you ' re training hard. And don't forget about eating the right foods at the right times! After a vigorous workout, it's important to refuel your body with a combination of proteins and carbohydrates. This winning combination can help speed up your recovery process and boost muscle growth.

In summary, when it comes to developing a well-rounded sprinting training program, it is essential to incorporate these six key elements into a gradual and personalized plan. The objective is not solely focused on generating swifter sprinters, but rather on cultivating well-rounded athletes. Sprinters can achieve their full potential and perform exceptionally well by honing their technique, building strength and power, enhancing their speed, mastering the mental game and fueling their bodies with proper nutrition Sprinting a

Developing Leadership in Track and Field: A Coach’s Perspective

Leadership is an important but sometimes ignored factor in sports such as track and field It can greatly improve both individual and team performance. As a coach, developing leadership skills improves team dynamics, creates a positive environment, and enhances overall performance. The first step is to identify athletes who have natural leadership abilities. These athletes should show dedication, good sportsmanship, a strong drive for success, and the ability to inspire their teammates. These people might not be the top performers, but they play a crucial role in shaping the team's dynamics.

Once potential leaders are found, their skills are developed. Coaches are important because they give athletes the chance to show their leadership skills. This can be done by giving them more tasks that go beyond just playing sports, like leading warm-ups, organizing activities, or attending team meetings. These tasks help athletes develop important leadership skills such as decision-making, communication, and conflict resolution.

Learning from peers is a great way to develop strong leaders in teams. Experienced veteran athletes can provide valuable insights and strategies to their teammates. Promoting these

exchanges fosters an atmosphere of respect and shared objectives, which is referred to as indirect leadership This environment motivates everyone to take initiative, embrace duties, and over time, each team member develops their own leadership style.

Lastly, coaches should demonstrate leadership by showing qualities like honesty, commitment, and understanding. The saying, "Your actions on the field are more important than your words off it," is highly relevant in this situation. Athletes are motivated to imitate the qualities of their coach's leadership when they witness it. This influence can inspire them, motivating them to work hard and achieve similar excellence. Leadership development is important for athletes because it helps them improve their sports performance and prepares them for life outside of their sport. It helps shape them into responsible and strong individuals who can lead in both sports and personal areas.

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.

Coach's Legacy: Rising Spirits

There is strict discipline in the dojang's halls. Values that never fail are instilled by coaches. Each kick and strike teach us control, They mold our spirit both physically and mentally.

They stoke our fire by testing our limitations, encouraging us to reach new heights. We take a strong stance in taekwondo, We all work together to give our all.

Every kick carries its heritage, They make us resilient during the most trying situations.

We are grateful and will constantly defend, We will advance in the family of taekwondo.

Mental Fortitude: How to Rise Above the Storms

Challenges fire the forge of existence The inner glow of mental toughness shines standing tall, with an unwavering spirit Despite all odds, it succeeds

It directs our way even during the darkest hours In its manifestation, endurance grows Accepting difficulties, it discovers its strength, It takes flight in each storm

hone your mind, discover your strength, Good terrain with Mental Toughness. Despite the difficulty, you'll overcome it, with tenacity, ferocity, and unending love.

Leather's Silent Ballet

Nestled within the glove's embrace, a softball lies, tenderly at rest,

In a realm of leather, a tale unfurls, Where courage takes shape and the heart twirls. A story spun with threads of bravery, Where heroes rise, their spirits set free.

A toss from within, a journey defying the wind, Within the cadence of this graceful dance, It transcends mere amusement, becoming a beguiling tease.

Awaiting the dance of the baseball, soaring high.

In stillness, time suspends its flight, As the ball, with a melodious sigh, Whizzes past, a fleeting delight.

In hushed silence, a sense of waiting, in the moment of capture, joy is found, The essence of the game, in its purest state, is the melody of sound.

Traces a graceful path through the air, Behold, a testament to strength, To grace and skill, a splendid sight. A display of power, with precision, A force that shines, with all its might. In the act of throwing, a dream is set free, In the act of catching, a dream is kept safe and sound,

In the graceful ballet of softball, the enchantment of the game is certain.

Here's to the throw, to the catch, to the graceful dance of the game,

In the dance of the glove's applause, the heartbeat of praise.

Softball's tongue, silent but known, In the toss and the grasp, the game ' s soul is shown.

Spheres of Sports

The basketball dances, its rhythmic bounce echoing on the polished floor Whispers of a grand game, a symphony of points

A twirl, a swoosh, a gentle touch of the net, the crowd's thunderous cheers, Within this enchanted realm, the soul takes flight

A dance of leather, soaring high, A football's spiral in the sky, A comet's grace, a dazzling sight, Guided by hands, with all their might A graceful ballet of precision and might, a wondrous display of soaring delight

Ensnared by towering titans, or propelled by agile kicks,

Within this gentle oval's hold, Comradeship is woven, stories unfold.

The baseball soars, a dance in the sky, a poem unfolding in mid-flight.

In the realm of the diamond's embrace, Where the crack of bat echoes with grace, A race to home, a fervent affair, Excitement dances, permeating the air.

Within the rhythmic pulse of this adorned hide, A tale of passion and intrigue takes its stride.

In the threads it clings, stories of powerful swings and skillful catches unfold.

Rolls and dances, a symphony of chance. With every kick, a story unfolds, Of triumph and defeat, of legends untold. The players, like artists, paint with their feet, Creating a masterpiece, both graceful and fleet. The ball, a vessel of hopes and desires, Ignites the passion, sets hearts on fire. In this arena, where dreams take flight, The soccer ball shines, a radiant light. It weaves through the grass, like a shooting star, Guided by skill, it travels far. Oh.

Swimming Across the Screens: The Online Teaching Conundrum

In the world of water, where splashes abound, A new quandary, the sphere of online education.

We now teach swimming classes through screens. A virtual journey with teachings at hand.

There was no poolside laughter, no waves to be seen.

Nonetheless, we dive in, embracing this decree. We hope to convey, through pixels and waves, To every young heart, the skills, and strokes.

But the struggle, the agony of the journey, We can observe their progress through screens They are unable to carefully modify their form We yearn for waters where they can take risks

Nonetheless, we continue to push through the tide,

Creating drills and techniques all over the world

We celebrate their successes regardless of the arena

We celebrate their grace with virtual high-fives

In this situation, we adapt and learn

With the hope that we will all return soon To the sound of poolside laughing and the glittering seas, Whereas in-person classes restore the feeling

We'll keep the spirit alive till that day arrives

Singing a digital song while teaching online

We find our resolve in the dilemma

We will solve challenges to nurture swimmers

Lasting Joy of a Teacher

Beneath the vast cerulean canopy, where the whistle's echo lingers, We wander through this field, where limbs and souls find solace in its embrace. In the depths of time's embrace, where joyous mirth resides,

Discover the bliss within the realm of instructing PE, Where passion for athletics finds its source and glee.

In the tapestry of time, memories are spun, With every bounce and run, a story begun. In passes and victories, tales are told, In races lost or won, emotions unfold.

Through the passage of time, beneath my vigilant gaze, Sprout the seeds of fortitude and determination, ablaze.

Beholding the trees, born from humble acorns, Each passing moment, a thrill to behold.

Time's touch may trace its marks, yet my heart remains evergreen, In the steps of children's triumphs, in every obstacle they've seen In the dance of seasons, as nature's rhythm plays, And the school bell tolls, marking the passing days, Teaching's joy, eternal and bright, Grows deeper as the days take flight Its flame, unyielding, never wanes, Through passing years, its light remains

Let us raise a toast to the boundless suns and shimmering stars, To the wisdom gained and generously passed, To the path we ' ve traversed hand in hand, For every kindred spirit that has understood and stood by Amidst laughter's echoes and cheer's sweet tune, In every high-five's melody, my heart finds its boon Teaching PE, where pure joy resides, Forever my soul in this realm abides

The Grit and Glory of a Physical Educator

Teaching physical education (PE) is a tough job, but it pays off in spades. After 25 years of motivating students to test their limitations and develop a passion for fitness, I can say with confidence that teaching physical education is a rewarding profession despite its difficulties. The challenges encountered by those in this field are quite genuine. Physical education teachers have a demanding job that requires them to think on their feet and be creative in order to meet the needs of their students. The ever-changing nature of sports science also calls for a commitment to lifelong education.

My academic journey has provided me with an extensive educational background in physical education. With a Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Physical Education, master's degree in PE, and doctoral degree in this field, I have gained profound knowledge and understanding of its critical role in any curriculum I firmly believe that physical education is essential for developing individuals in various aspects, from physical fitness to overall well-being We must recognize the indispensable contributions of PE teachers, as this subject has a significant impact on the holistic development of individuals and their ability to lead healthy and active lifestyles Its importance cannot be underestimated

The pressures of the job are high, yet switching careers has never been an option The explanations are numerous Being a physical education teacher is, first and foremost, a calling rather than a job It's a rare chance to influence students' mental and emotional health as well as their physical fitness When you consider the positive effects of your efforts on the lives of your students, every hour of practice is worthwhile

Seeing a student go from being shy and unsure of themselves to flourishing into a confident team player is a joy to behold These triumphs, however modest, serve to strengthen the pleasure of teaching and push the stress into the background. In addition, becoming a physical education teacher is a never-ending education.

Keeping up with the latest findings in sports psychology and nutrition, as well as adapting to new training methods, keeps you on your toes. It's mentally and physically stimulating work. The bonds formed on the field are also quite satisfying. New students bring with them exciting new opportunities and exciting new challenges. The bonds formed during team sports, both through wins and losses, are genuinely unique.

Finally, teaching physical education can give you a profound sense of fulfillment. The sense of fulfillment you get from knowing you ' re helping to raise a generation that will be physically and mentally stronger is unrivaled. This drive remains as strong as ever, even after twenty-five years My commitment to staying in the field of physical education despite its pressures and after 25 years is evidence of its importance Teaching is a rewarding career because of the satisfaction of witnessing the development of one ' s students, the joy of ongoing education, and the satisfaction of making a real difference in the lives of those taught It's a long road that's littered with challenges, but also full of victories and moments of genuine happiness I'm excited to take the next step in my physical education teaching career and am lacing up my sneakers with renewed vigor

Upland teachers: What Keeps them Going?

I am an upland teacher and I know that the challenges – physical and emotional – is really insurmountable. In a study I conducted in 2019, I investigated the work motivation, job satisfaction and organizational commitment of upland teachers in the Province of Capiz.,

I found that upland teachers face an enormous amount of challenge just to ensure quality teaching reaches learners in far-flung communities. Commitment is necessary to deliver the job expected of them. Usual factors, such as salary, benefits, and promotions were noted as among the work motivations of upland teachings.

Despite the hardship they encountered with the crude lifestyle and work environment presented by their work location, they remain motivated, satisfied and remain committed in delivering instruction and accomplishing their tasks It makes them feel as if they are

contributing to something larger than themselves, something important. Some people have personal missions they . accomplish through meaningful work. Others truly love what they do or the clients they serve. Since they are emotionally attached in their respective educational institutions, upland teachers desire to maintain their connection with the agency and keep up their duties and responsibilities. The high regard shown by their students is a reflection of their work commitment, which in turn boost their work to work. While taking this into consideration, they keep encouraged to work on the right track regardless of the struggles they might experience in their respective schools. A sense of fulfillment is discernible as they help their students realize their fullest potentials rather than languish in hopelessness

Reading literacy outreach works!

Reading literacy works! At least for the elementary grade – that’s what I found out based on a study that I have conducted together with a team as a college student in Capiz State University We implemented a literacy extension program to look see how it affected the reading level of Grade 4 learners I found that, among others, the role of collaboration between the basic and higher education sectors to improve the learners’ reading ability while also providing benchmark to school divisions to launch their own initiatives to help schools raise the reading and comprehension levels of the learners

Furthermore, through community literacy programs, positively affect the reading levels of those who struggle to read In particularly, any of those who benefitted were learners from low-income families This raises

awareness among the teachers on the role of conducting assessments in implementing programs that would benefit learners who are either slow readers and non-readers

In collaborating we see the role of building partnerships with teacher education institution as crucial to provide an intervention to improving the learners’ reading ability, school divisions should also take this as a cue to launch their own initiatives to help schools raise the reading and comprehension levels of the learners

Embracing Zumba® for Lifetime

At the age of 50, I arrived at an unexpected crossroads in my life: I was leading a group of people in an energizing Zumba® class. My experience as a master instructor in the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™) taught me that the dancing fitness program was about so much more than that. In my forties, in a calm home that longed for excitement, I began my Zumba® journey. After trying my hand at a wide variety of pastimes, I finally settled on Zumba® for its infectious blend of Latin rhythms and aerobic moves. More like a party than a workout, it sparked an interest that ultimately lead me to the ZIN™.

It's not the norm to be a ZIN™ master after turning 50, but when it comes to the energy that Zumba® provides, age becomes irrelevant. It's not just young people that have to exert a lot of energy; once I got into a groove, I felt like a new person. I loved seeing the ageless excitement on my client’s faces as I led them through each routine. As a ZIN™, my responsibilities go way beyond just teaching dance routines. I'm proud to have spearheaded the "Dance To Live Ph" an all ZIN™ group, which has organized numerous Zumba® for a cause events to help those in need Our goal is to raise funds for the needy through Zumba Fitness™ programs When I teach Zumba classes, my main objective is to foster a feeling of togetherness and motivate people of all ages to take risks and step out of their comfort zones It's funny how surprised my students are when they find out my ageI believe it's a testament to the transformative power of Zumba®, which can make you feel and look younger The pulsating beat of the music is infectious and invites everyone to join in and move their bodies

The lessons I've learned from Zumba are invaluable Perfect choreography, like perfect execution of anything else in life, requires discipline, devotion, and practice A single false move might throw off the entire flow, but it is in these stumbles that we learn and improve Turning fifty taught me not to slow down but to seek out new experiences and opportunities Along the way, I've learned to love and respect my body I learned from Zumba® that our bodies

are temples that need to be cared for, not simply machines. No of your age, fitness is all about how you feel: strong, healthy, and full of life.

The decision to become an expert ZIN™ at age 50 was brilliant. It's a joyful trip full of exciting movement, inner development, and contagious joy. I pray that people, no matter their age, would be inspired by my tale to go out and live a little. Zumba® is an exercise in disguise and a celebration of life, not just a dance or fitness. As I guide my students through the energizing routine, I am reminded that the journey, not the final result, is where the true delight lies. And now, at the ripe old age of fifty, I stand before you as a ZIN™, defying preconceived notions about my generation. With each Zumba® move, I intend to continue to celebrate life. Ultimately, what truly counts is not your chronological age, but rather the way in which you utilize your unique abilities to make a positive impact on those around you, ignite motivation through your actions, and maintain a youthful spirit.

Artificial intelligence in education: boon or bane?

In recent years, major advances in artificial intelligence or AI have changed the landscape of education. AI has positively enabled students to engage in personalized learning experiences. Using intelligent algorithms, AI has the capability to analyze individual learning styles and preferences, customizing learning content to cater to the specific needs of each student. This personalized approach increases student engagement and promotes a deeper understanding of the lesson, thereby enhancing the learning experience for students.

AI-powered conversations and virtual assistants have become useful tools for both teachers and students These digital companions are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provide quick answers to questions and additional learning resources When faced with academic obstacles, students can reduce feelings of helplessness and seek immediate help

AI's ability to automate administrative tasks is an added benefit Evaluation, tracking participants and monitoring progress is time-consuming for teachers Using AI, teachers can streamline this task, spend more time improving teaching methods and build strong relationships with students

Although artificial intelligence has brought many benefits, there are some pitfalls to avoid The risk of human interaction is one of the main concerns during instruction Traditional education thrives in teacher-student relationships that foster social and emotional intelligence

Students' ability to develop important soft skills can be hindered by the lack of human interaction in the classroom if they rely too much on artificial intelligence.

Additionally, using AI for assessment and evaluation poses several challenges. Although artificial intelligence is capable of processing large amounts of data quickly, it does not always understand the subtleties of creativity and critical thinking that students demonstrate. Relying heavily on AI-based

assessment systems can reduce subjective assessment and fail to recognize the uniqueness and diversity of student abilities.

Data protection and privacy are additional important issues. The use of artificial intelligence in education often requires the collection and analysis of students' sensory data. Privacy and security are top priorities. Parents and educators concerned about the security of their students' confidential information may oppose the application of AI in education unless comprehensive safeguards are in place.

In addition, implementing AI technology requires significant financial investment. Not all educational institutions have the resources to apply modern artificial intelligence in their classrooms This can widen the gap between institutions that can provide modern technology and reduce the quality of education

AI offers boons and banes in today's education system AI enables a modified learning experience, rationalizes organizational tasks, and offers 24/7 student support However, there are legitimate concerns about the loss of interpersonal relationships, subjective evaluation, data privacy, and economic disparities The key to unlocking the full potential of AI as a revolutionary force in today's student learning experience is to strike a balance between harnessing the benefits of AI and preserving the essential features of traditional education

5S of Housekeeping in the Realms of the Classroom

The 5S methodology, derived from the Japanese words seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke, represents a set of effective housekeeping practices to eliminate waste and clutter in the workplace. Its application extends beyond industrial settings and is valuable in organizing operations for total quality management and continuous improvement. Notably, teachers can also leverage its principles to manage their classrooms efficiently.

The first step, Seiri or Sort, involves discerning what items are necessary and what can be disposed of, thereby decluttering the classroom and removing unnecessary materials promptly.

The second step, Seiton or Set in Order/Segregate, requires arranging items for easy access and efficient use, ensuring that everything has its designated place in the classroom.

The third step, Seiso or Shine/Sanitize, emphasizes the importance of regular cleaning to maintain a clean and hygienic learning environment. Cleanliness must be prioritized to create a safe and conducive space for students and teachers. The fourth step is the Seiketsu or Standardize, which encourages adopting high standards and monitoring practices systematically to ensure consistency and uniformity in classroom management.

Lastly, Shitsuke or Sustain/Self-discipline underscores the need for strict adherence to the principles of good housekeeping in the classroom. By following these rules consistently, teachers can achieve better results and favorable outcomes in their teaching endeavors.

The benefits of implementing the 5S approach in the classroom are numerous and promising:

1. A Safe and Conducive Learning Environment: Maintaining cleanliness and organization makes the classroom a safe and pleasant place for students to learn and thrive

2 Improved Flow of Discussion: With an organized and clutter-free setup, teachers can navigate lessons smoothly, leading to more effective discussions and better student engagement

3 Minimized Errors and Enhanced Performance: Eliminating unnecessary distractions and ensuring that materials are readily available can reduce errors during activities, ultimately improving overall performance

4 Maximized Productivity in Teaching and Learning: A well-organized classroom allows for a more efficient teaching-learning process, maximizing the productive time spent on educational activities.

5.Promotion of Independent and Collaborative Learning: With clear structures in place, students are encouraged to take initiative in their learning journey while also fostering collaboration among peers.

When Innovation Spark

Within the workshop of brilliant minds, A spark of innovation, one that binds, Electrical wonders of all kinds, Defying darkness, solutions it finds

From humble bulbs to screens immense, The spark of genius, an art intense, Unleashing ideas, breaking the fence, In its glow, the future's immense

With each new circuit, each design, Boundless possibilities, they align, Electricity's gift, a force benign, Kindling progress, an eternal sign Oh, spark of innovation, so true, The world's advancements, thanks to you, Invisible currents, sparking anew, Humanity's dreams you help come true.

Symphony of Science and Tech: A Dance of Wonder

In the grand theater of human minds, Science and Technology, a symphony binds,

A dance of wonder, a harmonious blend, In every discovery, a new tale to send.

Amidst the laboratories' hallowed ground, The quest for knowledge, the heartbeat's sound,

From atoms' realm to galaxies afar, In every discovery, a shining star

Behold, the marvels of innovation's might, Where science and tech, they take flight, From microcosms to macro ' s sprawl, In every advancement, a universe's call

The Dawn of a new era

In the halls of the University, where young minds ignite

A new discovery emerged in a beaming light With silence brought by pandemic, classes are loomed with a work of art

The dawn of online learning came to start

Once computers were in laboratories to dust

Now they are needed more than ever to cast

In the realms of education, they hold the key Google, Zoom and Microsoft team up with glee

Knowledge is at the tip of their fingertips

Classes are now within the snips

Online meetings are needed recorded or not Since no one can travel right on the dot

Despite the pandemic

the world did not panic

Slowly paced to return back to place But not forgetting precautions taking a meter of space

Computers would take us to a virtual journey as history unfolds

The secrets of the past, long and behold

With screens that glow let our hearts be bright May computers bring us to a new era ’ s might.

With telescopes' gaze, we seek the skies, Unveiling secrets, before our eyes, In data streams, celestial shows, A cosmic overture, the galaxy bestows.

But in this symphony of human dreams, Ethics and conscience guide the themes, For in science and tech's pursuit so bold, The heart's compass steers, a future to hold

So let this ode to Science and Technology resound,

A celebration where insights are found, A dance of wonder, a legacy so grand, In every discovery, humanity shall stand

The Impact of Rice Importation on Rice Farmers: A Comprehensive Analysis

Over half of the world's population relies primarily on rice as a food source, making it one of the most essential dietary staples internationally. Rice cultivation and production have long been vital to many nations' cultural heritages and economies. But the issue of rice imports has significantly impacted rice producers all around the world, creating several socioeconomic difficulties This article examines the consequences of rice imports on rice farmers, particularly emphasizing the situation at the start of the twenty-first century.

In the early 2000s, rice importation bringing in rice from outside to satisfy local needs became more common Several variables, such as population growth, food choices, and changes in agricultural regulations, influenced this phenomenon Many nations discovered that importing rice was more cost-effective than spending money to increase domestic production.

The spike in rice imports severely impacted local rice growers Domestic rice prices frequently fell as cheaper imported rice flooded the market, making it difficult for local farmers to compete. Many farmers were compelled to sell their crops at a loss due to the disparity between production costs and market prices, which put them in dire financial straits.

The revenue of rice growers decreased as a result of shrinking profit margins Numerous farmers should have paid back debts and covered production costs, which resulted in significant financial troubles. The problems farmers encountered were worsened by rising rural poverty rates and a decline in their capacity to invest in new farming methods and technology

Due to dwindling incentives and financial limitations, several farmers gave up on farming, reducing local rice output. Food security suffered as a result of the local production of rice declining and nations becoming more dependent on imports to satisfy their needs The local rural population's work options decreased as the rice sector shrank Farmers

and seasonal employees who made their living from rice growing faced unemployment and few other means of income As a result, more individuals moved from rural to urban areas for better economic opportunities.

Rice cultivation is deeply ingrained in the culture of many communities and has been passed down through the centuries using customary methods and techniques As younger generations turned away from agriculture and preferred other occupations in urban areas, the fall in rice production due to imports threatened to undermine this cultural legacy.

The government's role in shaping agricultural policies significantly affected rice importation's impact on farmers Some governments provided subsidies and support to rice farmers to help them cope with the challenges of imports. However, others could not offer substantial assistance due to budgetary constraints or other economic priorities

The abandonment of rice farming can also negatively affect the ecosystem Various bird species use rice paddies as significant wetland habitats and nest there. The loss of habitat and possible dangers to biodiversity in some areas might result from declining rice growth.

Governments and other relevant parties can put into practice several solutions to overcome the difficulties encountered by rice farmers, including enhanced agricultural technologies and infrastructure to increase output, providing financial and technical assistance specifically to small-scale farmers, agricultural techniques should be diversified to lessen reliance on only rice, creation of rice products with additional value to boost farmers' income, fair trade agreements are negotiated to balance imports and safeguard local farmers.

Early rice imports had a significant impact on rice farmers all over the world, causing local rice output to drop, livelihood losses, and rural poverty Governments must implement measures that establish a balance between importation and domestic production while investing in advancing sustainable farming methods to safeguard and assist rice producers. In this manner, rice farmers may reclaim their financial stability and carry on playing a crucial role in maintaining food security and protecting cultural heritage
