We have a fantastic edition for August/September! There’s so much happening around South Florida. It seems like everyone decided to get out and about this summer after the haunting memories of the recent major lockdowns.

Everywhere you go, you need a reservation! The malls are packed, and the beaches are swarming with people.

Airports are out of control, and the new normal seems to be “the great outdoors.” Looking back a year, I’m so glad where we are now this summer!

ho doesn’t know Denise Rubin in the real estate world? Without a doubt, Denise has made her mark in the Real Estate Industry and is regarded as an iconic leader in the South Florida market. Through hard work and relentless dedication, Denise and her highly professional Denise Rubin Group in Aventura have received a long list of accolades for award-winning service and record-breaking multi-million-dollar home sales. Denise has received a host of awards, including 32 Best Awards from the Builders Association of South Florida. Among those awards was Best Real Estate Professional of the Year for Personal Achievement 7 times! And the list goes on…

Dressed in her signature Haute Couture style, Denise shares insights on the market and her personal story with HL magazine:

- Denise, you are a top producer and an expert in the South Florida market, what is your forecast for the rest of this year, and how do you see the future of real estate in this market?

Demand for housing and economic conditions remained strong for the first half of 2022. Buyers are adjusting to higher costs, and more owners are listing their homes, increasing the available for sale inventory.

Market conditions strongly favored sellers in recent months, and a modest shift will only trend the housing market back to normal. Regardless of the market conditions, people still need to move whether for school, life changes, or work. With Florida’s many tax benefits, many large corporations, and even smaller companies, are relocating their headquarters to South Florida, which will also bring the employees here. As a leading destination, South Florida remains bright.

-What is your area of expertise?

I specialize in home buying and selling from singlefamily homes and condos to new developments, land, and investment properties from South Beach to Palm Beach.

-What sets you apart in your industry?

I have broken records in the real estate industry and surpassed more than $2.6 billion in personal sales. I am ranked No. 1 at Coldwell Banker Aventura, in the Top 100 for Florida, and in the top half of one percent of realtors nationwide. I am also in the International Society of Excellence, the highest level you can achieve. I have worked hard to amass a room full of awards, including 32 “BEST” awards from the Builders Association of South Florida and seven-time Best Real Estate Professional of the Year.

-Give us a glimpse of the secret of your success?

My success comes from my 24/7 work ethic and dedication. I get record-breaking sales prices due to my negotiation skills, experience, and extensive market knowledge. Exposure is everything. I promote my listings with innovative local, national, and global marketing programs. My online and social media presence effectively places my listings in front of millions of buyers daily. I’m committed to achieving my clients’ goals and exceeding their expectations.

-How did you get into the business?

After college, I completed the Real Estate program at the New York University School of Business and Real Estate and earned a certificate in Interior Design. I instantly became successful as an onsite agent for a Manhattan building. A few years later, I moved to Florida and continued in the profession that brought me joy. I’ve always enjoyed being an entrepreneur, and I opened my first business when I was just 18 years old – a fashion boutique in NY. -Do you work mainly with locals or international clients, and if so, from where is the majority coming?

I work with both local and international clients. I have a large repeat business client base and am also a global marketing specialist.

-Please tell us about the services you provide.

From contract to closing, I make sure every aspect of a real estate transaction is streamlined. I am the leader of The Denise Rubin Group, a multilingual team with top agents that speak Russian, Portuguese, French, Hebrew, and Spanish. My full-time staff greatly supports me, comprised of an office manager, a marketing director, and a showing coordinator. We also have a mortgage broker and title company available. I am personally involved in all my real estate transactions.

-You are a fashionista with your remarkable style. What are some of your favorite pieces you have in your phenomenal closet?

Funny you should ask! I am wearing two of my favorite pieces on the cover – the gold sequin pants and shoes- from Gucci. In addition, my Hermes Birkins are very special to me, and some of my classic Chanel pieces.

-You take lovely Mercedes and Star everywhere, and they even have their designer closet? What do you enjoy the most about having your pets?

I have always been an avid animal lover and have been involved in and donated to many animal charities. Mercedes and Star are an extension of my family. I also love dressing them to match me every day. I built them a custom closet full of designer dresses by Chewnel and Chewy Vuitton, and they even have their own Hairmes Barkin to accessorize. -You have a new Rolls Royce. What do you love most about this recent acquisition?

I just got my custom 2022 Rolls Royce Ghost delivered. It is a stunning car. I love the bold Salamanca Blue exterior and orange interior combination, but what I love most is that it’s a byproduct of all my hard work and dedication.

Real Estate News Colombia Tops the list in South Florida Real Estate Colombia posted the most global web searches for Miami homes in June 2022, according to a new report by the MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI).

It has topped the list of foreign countries searching for Miami real estate for four consecutive months as South Florida continues to see surging global buyer demand.

rasmo Da Silva, a businessman with vast experience in the hospitality business, came to the United States in 2014 seeking to expand the Da Silva Hospitality Group business, which has restaurants in Venezuela and Portugal. In 2017, Da Silva opened the doors of Zucca, quickly positioning it as one of the best Italian restaurants in Miami.

From an early age, Chef Manuel García worked in the world of gastronomy in Venezuela. His passion for cooking takes him to Europe, where he manages to expand his knowledge of French and Italian cuisine.

García then decided to explore new opportunities, which takes him to Miami, allowing him to perfect the art of Italian cuisine.This talented chef has been at Zucca since its inception, becoming the executive chef with the sole responsibility of creating their awardwinning authentic Italian recipes.

Recently, he was mentioned as one of the “chefs to watch” for 2023.

Zucca has earned its place among the mainstays of Miami’s bustling scene, receiving numerous accolades for its cuisine, wine cellar, and impeccable hospitality.

a hermosa isla caribeña de Curazao, de inspiración holandesa, frente a la costa de Venezuela, los cautivará de mil maneras. Mundialmente famosa por su cultura vibrante, playas vírgenes y calas, Curazao tiene ese ambiente relajado que la convierte en la escapada perfecta para desconectarse.

Desde una ciudad pintoresca hasta los tonos turquesa de las aguas y su rica experiencia cultural, sin duda debe estar en su lista de lugares únicos para visitar.

Su patrimonio diverso abarca 55 culturas diferentes, y su ciudad capital, Willemstad, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, tiene un aspecto arquitectónico icónico y colorido con museos y monumentos para deleitar.

he beautiful Dutch-inspired Caribbean Island of Curaçao off the coast of Venezuela will captivate you in many ways. World-famous for its vibrant culture, pristine beaches, and coves, Curaçao has that laid-back feel that makes it a perfect getaway to unplug. From a colorful downtown to the turquoise hues of waters and its rich cultural experience, it should undoubtedly be on your bucket list of unique places to visit.

Its diverse heritage spans 55 different cultures, and its capital city, Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has an iconic colorful architectural backdrop featuring museums and monuments. Cobble-stone streets, narrow alleys, and wider main roads further exhibit the 17th-century Dutch-influenced designs. You will also see lovely Willemstad’s 18th-century mansions in the Pietermaai districts.

The Queen Juliana Bridge, the tallest in the Caribbean, is painted blue and yellow, mirroring the Curaçao flag and towering above the Willemstad skyline. Driving over the bridge is the fastest way to cross from Otrobanda district to the Punda district and offers the most stunning views of downtown Willemstad. And you can’t miss a truly unique experience -- walking across Queen Emma floating pontoon bridge to cross from one side to the other.

Riffort, located in Otrobanda, was built-in 1828 and now is a hub for entertainment. Enveloped by stone walls once used for firing cannons, this area features shops, restaurants, and live music on the weekends. At Ceviche 91 Gastrobar, you can enjoy tapas and signature cocktails while viewing the colorful lights of the harbor.

A must-try is the Blue Curaçao Ceviche, the first of its kind.

Locals speak numerous languages, Papiamentu is their dialect, and they also speak English, Spanish and Dutch.

The Arawak Indians from South America first settled in Curacao. Then it was under Spanish rule and later became a Dutch territory in 1634. The island was de-colonized in 1954 when the Netherlands Antilles gained equal status within the Kingdom of Netherlands. Then in 2010, the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved, and Curaçao became autonomous within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Like many Caribbean Islands, they grandly celebrate Carnival-- music, street parties, culture, history, and folklore. Carnival season starts at the beginning of January and ends during Mardi Gras.

You offer many dental services at your practice; do you ever need to refer anyone, or are most services done in-house? I rarely refer out but never hesitate to do so should the need arise.

What is the most high-tech procedure you perform in your office?

We offer a variety of high-tech procedures--from IV sedation and digital dentistry to complex rehabilitation of the entire mouth with the restoration of natural teeth or replacing a whole mouth with implant-supported teeth.

What do you suggest is key in preventing tooth decay?

I always inform my patients that proper maintenance is paramount for their oral health at home and with specific in-office maintenance subjected to their individual needs.

What would you say makes your practice unique in the dental industry?

My firm belief in treating the person, not the mouth, is seen from the moment one calls our office, and I have the good fortune of my office family.

How would you compare your pricing to the competition?

I believe my pricing is very competitive when providing quality dental services.

How is your bedside manner?

I take my time to get to know the person and strive to make them feel comfortable.

What are some of the highest honors in the industry you have received?

I am a fellow for the ICOI and have received numerous awards. The highest honors I receive are the referrals from my patients and the appreciation I receive from them.

I am an advent water bum. I love boating and fishing. I have recently recuperated from surgery and will get back into my exercise routine, biking, and weightlifting.

Preparations are underway in Miami Although the dates are not yet confirmed, it will host around 6 games.

Miami-Dade County is celebrating in a big way after being among the 11 venues for the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly organize by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. As a result, work in underway to improve the Miami-Dade transportation system’s infrastructure.

“This moment means a lot to Miami Dade County. It means jobs, tourism, and a global spotlight,” said Mayor Daniela Levine Cava.

Facing the 2026 World Cup and waiting for the fans to fill the streets and roads in South Florida, Cava said in a press conference that Miami will begin to strengthen its transportation infrastructure, and that precisely this will be the most important development in the next years.

“We will do everything necessary to strengthen our infrastructure, prepare our communities and plan for the influx of hundreds of thousands of tourists,” the county councilor told press at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, where up to 6 of all 80 World Cup matches to be held in North America.

Located in the city of Miami Gardens, Hard Rock Stadium is the venue for major sporting events such as American football, the Miami Open for tennis, and recently opened as Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.

The Hard Rock Stadium was built to FIFA specifications and hosted several high-profile matches, including the Real Madrid-Barcelona classic in 2017.

“We have a great partnership with Hard Rock Stadium and the Miami Dolphins, and they are very excited that FIFA has chosen our great city to host the event. The city is certainly looking forward to working with them to ensure success,” Miami Gardens Councilman Rodney Harris said in press statement.

FIFA unveiled the 16 venues that will host the 2026 World Cup and it will be the first in history with 48 teams, in addition to three host countries.

Miami was one of the eleven cities in the United States announced as the venue for the 2026 World Cup, along with Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Houston and New York/New Jersey.

La nueva exposición “Bonnie Lautenberg: Art Meets Hollywood”, puede ser vista en el Museo de Arte de Boca Raton hasta el 21 de agosto. La exhibicion consiste en 28 dípticos donde Lautenberg combina escenas de películas famosas con obras de arte icónicas, en donde la unica regla para este maridaje es que tanto la película como la obra de arte se originaron en el mismo año.

The new exhibition “Bonnie Lautenberg: Art Meets Hollywood” is the museum premiere of Bonnie Lautenberg’s new series. Her digital collages in this exhibition are 28 diptychs where she pairs scenes from famous films alongside iconic works of art. Lautenberg’s only rule for her experimental process is that both the film and the artwork originated within the same year.

Some of Lautenberg’s pairings in this series featured at the Boca Raton Museum also stem from her own personal history.

In the 1960s her father purchased the Stuart Davis painting Hot Still-Scape for Six Colors ‒ 7th Avenue Style. In this pairing, she juxtaposes the Davis painting that she admired as a child growing up in her family home, with a scene from the 1940 film The Philadelphia Story (pictured below, both from 1940).

The family eventually sold the painting some 25 years later. Ultimately, the painting was donated to the Boston Museum of Fine Art. Years later, Lautenberg was reunited with the painting when she visited the museum and was heartened to see it was still in the same frame it had during the many years when it hung over their family fireplace.
