The issuance of Executive Order 9066 by President Roosevelt after the onset of the Pacific War led to the loss of a thriving restaurant business in Little Tokyo that the Hasegawa family was running and the whole family was forcibly relocated in the Tule Lake internment camp in northern California. In this event, he will talk about his youthful days in the camp and the family’s journey to the mid-West and eventually to Long Island.
