How to Participate in General Room Selection

DIVISION OF STUDENT ENROLLMENT, ENGAGEMENT, AND SUCCESS

Who can Participate in the General Room Selection Process?

Current students living on campus during the spring semester are eligible to participate in the General Room Selection Process if they:

1. Have no outstanding balances with the Office of Student Financial Services.

2. Register full time for the fall 2025 semester.

3. Complete an online Housing Application.

Check List Prior to Participating in the General Selection Process

• Complete and Submit an updated housing application for Fall 2025.

• Create a roommate group if living in a Graduate Residence Hall Double Room*.

• Ensure all requested roommates have submitted their application and accepted their roommate request.

• Log back into the housing application and select a room by participating in the General Selection Process on their designated day.

*Students opting for a single room within a suite SHOULD NOT form a roommate group. However, if they wish to live with specific suitemates, they should participate in the general selection process on the same day and at the same time, in order to find available single rooms within the same suite.

Things to remember when selecting a multiple occupancy room with a Roommate Group

➢ All rooms/suites MUST Be Filled to CAPACITY* or you will get an error message and will not be able to select a room.

* For Graduate Residence Hall, only students who wish to live in a double room need to create a roommate group and fill the suite to capacity. Students opting for a single room within a suite SHOULD NOT form a roommate group. However, if they wish to live with specific suitemates, they should each participate in the general selection process on the same day and at the same time, in order to find available single rooms within the same suite. Each student will select their own space within the suite.

➢ If a room type filter DOES NOT appear , this means there is only one room type left to select from . Before selecting, be sure the room type that is showing is the room type you wish to select for your group.

What Happens If I Cannot Fill a Room to Capacity?

• Students can “Search For Roommates by Profile” to request a random roommate to fill the empty spaces.

• Students can reconfigure their roommate group and search for another room type (i.e. if you have 3 students in your roommate group and cannot find a fourth roommate to fill a 4 - person suite, consider selecting a high rise triple room or a triple suite.)

EXAMPLE-GRADUATE/LAW:

Residents Students who

wish to reside in a single room within a suite with specific suitemates

Residents opting for a single room within a suite with specific suitemates SHOULD NOT form a roommate group as the system will not show you any available single spaces.
