CAT excavators with multiple 1.7 tonne, 6 tonne and 8 tonne machines, compaction equipment, while the EWP range includes 3 JLG spiders – 2 x 20 metre spiders, 1 x 17 metre spider, 3 with a 16m Jibbi Almac tracked boom arriving soon, as is the JLG 1250AJP and new model Genie GS5390.
Clennett Hire will be the first hire company in Australia to receive JLG’s new ES1932 19’ scissor lift when they arrive which will be fitted with JLG’s new access control and remote control technology, and, like all our scissor lifts since late last year, fitted with EQSS’s overwatch system.
Onboarding apprentices The Commonwealth Government has extended its economic stimulus package by $1.2 billion to encourage employers to take on new apprentices and trainees.
T
he Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements wage subsidy supports businesses and group training organisations to take on new apprentices and trainees to build a pipeline of skilled workers to support sustained economic recovery. This wage subsidy is in addition to the existing $2.8 billion Supporting Apprentices and Trainees wage subsidy. Through the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements wage subsidy, any business or group training organisation that engages an Australian apprentice up until 30 September 2021 may be eligible for a subsidy of 50 per cent of wages paid to a new or recommencing apprentice or trainee for a 12-month period from the date of commencement, to a maximum of $7,000 per quarter. There is no cap on the number of

eligible trainees/apprentices. Employers of any size, or industry, Australia-wide who commence an Australian Apprentice between up until 30 September 2021 may be eligible under this program. “To be eligible as a trainee the employee must be a new employee or have moved from casual to perm,” Aileen Hiskins, owner, Strategic Alignment Training, said. “They must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. It doesn’t matter if they hold previous qualifications. “Employers may also attract additional federal traineeship funding of up to $4,000 per person for new employees - eligibility to this funding does depend on new employees previous qualifications.” Strategic Alignment Training is the preferred training partner for HRIA and facilitates programs such as Women in Hire
and Access Program, Young Professional Network and mate2Manager. “We also keep abreast of all state and federal funding opportunities that become available, and for which HRIA/EWPA members may be eligible,” Hiskins said. “We manage the relationship with the registered training organisations who offer the courses and where applicable such as with the HATS program, contextualises these courses to the Industry. We can also offer members a full management service.” “Furthermore, we will notify HRIA of all funding opportunities as they are launched. SAT also offers an end to end management service to members, which includes working on their behalf with the RTO, Apprenticeship Centres (ACCNs), who facilitate funding, and the individual trainee.”
