Hikvision eDVR is a brand new series with embedded solid status drive (eSSD). Traditionally, the mechanical hard disk drive (HDD) is purchased separately, and cannot be installed if you don’t dismantle the device. HDDs are also prone to accidental shakes and bumps, leading to broken parts that cannot read the data stored. Now with technology advance, Hikvision becomes the first to apply an eSSD to the DVR in the entire market, offering a more economic, stable, and easy-to-use product to users. The newly released eDVRs are with low power consumption, Scene-Adaptive Bitrate Control coding, and Motion Detection 2.0 enabling human/vehicle classification, and users can just plug and play to enjoy all the new experience.
Plug and play for easy installation: it usually takes a user extra calculation to decide on which kind of HDD to use, and extra money to purchase, and another three or five minutes to remove the DVR cover to install the HDD, which can be lots of work. The DVR is small as an adult’s hand, with solidly embedded parts for users to put it anywhere without worrying about shaking the hard drive or losing the recording.
Low power consumption to save your electricity bill: for beginners who are sensitive to daily expense or places where electricity is scarce, the electricity cost using a traditional DVR cannot be overlooked. The super low power consumption brought by eSSD is 50% lower than a traditional DVR, total consumption by DVR being 5-6 W (12 V, 0.42-0.5A), saving about 45 kWh power each year, an amount capable of charging an iPhone 13 for over 3,000 times.
Stable and endurable storage: the most prevalent 1 TB HDD in the market is actually too much for beginners, who usually require just 1-2 weeks’ of video storage, but there are no longer smaller HDD in the market to be produced anymore. With smaller storage and improved Scene-Adaptive Bitrate Control coding, the eDVR can allocate storage space while making adjustment according to actual changes in the scene. The overall efficiency of this coding improved 25%, without compromising imaging quality, while ensuring about 2 weeks’ recording. There would be no calculation for users and no worries on unstable images. Besides, data distribution and re-location scheme is also improved in eSSD to ensure at least 11 years (600 weeks) of data storage, as calculated in 45 ℃ with full channel connected by default coding. By contrast, the risk of HDD damage can be high as 50% after 6 years’ of good operating.
Enhanced smart function: intelligence has become a theme of the time, dominating in almost every kind of product to deliver handy benefits for users. In a small surveillance scenario, users would like the AI to offer a most straightforward way to find their target events. The Motion Detection 2.0 on eDVR can classify the motions of all analog channels into human and vehicle events for users to quickly find their interested events, making security easier, accurate and user-friendly.

Technology: the productivity of SSD has been increasing in China. It is now possible for hundredlayer SSD to be produced with gradually lower unit price. With the popularity of H.265 coding in security industry, the 1 TB HDD can store 30-day video, exceeding the basic needs of entry-level users. SSD can solve the over-capacity situation and offer a 2-week-storage solution for such users.
Market: entry-level security users are still the majority in the market. The demand for 4-ch and 8-ch HGH Series DVR remain in a level as high as 6,000,000 units. There’s a lot we can do to for this group.
Hikvision: the past 6 years has seen the growth of Hikvision intelligent storage, together with their many products such as the SSDs. Together with the self-developed Scene-Adaptive Bitrate Control coding, this eSSD product can offer endurable and quality video storage.

Traditional IR camera only renders white and black images at night, so that a large number of critical colorrelated information is lost. For this reason, we developed analog dual-light cameras. When the camera linked with intelligent detection of DVR, it will gives colorful video when key information is detected at night, so the customers will get better experience.
1. 2 supplemental lights: IR lights and white lights; 3 supplemental light modes: IR mode, white light mode, and smart light mode
2. Working with DVR with AcuSense to realize smart supplemental lighting: when in normal conditions at night, IR lights on, and the camera is in a condition of concealment; when human/vehicle is detected, white lights on, the image turned to colorful, so that critical information is abundant, meanwhile, the white light can work as warnings
3. Built-in mic, and supports audio over coaxial. The integration of audio and video gives more information and more evidence
1. 1080p/3K
2. Hybrid light: 20-40 m IR (by default), 20/40 m white light
3. Supports smart supplemental lighting
4. Built-in mic, supports audio over coaxial
